The box art or instructions are not reliable because many times, the Lego company
changed a part AFTER the instructions and box art were designed/created.
For example, the light gray and black hinges on train 7745 are with solid stud
but they never appeared in this set.
For this set, I believe both versions were used but I guess, the inventory admins
would need more reliable sources (like a sealed set)

As Reza stated above, the instructions are not a reliable source for changes
to existing inventories when it comes to part variants. It is very possible that
both versions of the round 1x1 brick came in this set at some point, but we would
need more reliable data to add an alternate or do an outright change of this
part. For now, this request will be rejected.

As Reza stated above, the instructions are not a reliable source for changes
