| Please make changes to the following inventory:
* Add 4 Part 4022c01 Red Train Buffer Beam with Train Coupling Old and Magnet Cylindrical (4022 / 4023 / 73092) (Counterpart)
Comments from Submitter:
To be consistent with inventory of set 7710-1

I don't know why this should come as counterpart (and I don't know what
the criteria is for an assembly to appear in a counterpart)
It is very easy to take apart these three parts anyway. (magnet, magnetholder
and buffer beam)

Defenition of counterpart:
Parts which are either assembled from or permanently changed from parts in the
Regular Items section during the process of building a set according to the instructions.
Examples include parts with stickers applied and cut pneumatic hoses. In the
absence of instructions, exceptions may be made. Refer to Additional Information
About Counterparts for further details.
I don't think this assembly fits into this, otherwise we can add many other
assmblies as counterpart. I think it is better to remove it from 7710 and from
the two service packs too.

Okay, If needed I will just cancel all my requests.
By the way, it's the same a these parts listed as counterparts:
for set

It definitely meets the definition. It is a part which is assembled from parts
in the Regular Items section during the process of building a set according to
the instructions.
If an assembly has been added and approved to the catalog, then it is able to
be added to inventories. Obviously, random groups of bricks are not going to
pass approval into the catalog, but assemblies that appear over and over again
in multiple sets most likely will.

Just wondering: why the assmblies like this one are removed then:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3830c01#T=P
The same goes for other hinges.
I know there were a long discussion about it and I agree it is difficult to decide
what should be in counterpart and what not, but anyway the hinges fit much better
than the buffer assemblies for 12v and 9v trains, because they are more fragile.

I don't know. I had nothing to do with that decision, and it is out of my
control. Someone decided it was not going to be allowed in the catalog anymore
and that was that. I can only add assemblies to inventories that the catalog
side approves of and this one does not have approval.
