The wires always came assembled.
I don't know why this wire is added, it was used about 1967-71 or so (one
of the very earlies versions ot connectors):

Part No: 996bc96gray Name: Electric, Wire 4.5V with four Light Gray 1-prong Connectors with Cross-Cut Pin, 96 Studs Long
*
996bc96gray Electric, Wire 4.5V with four Light Gray 1-prong Connectors with Cross-Cut Pin, 96 Studs Long
Parts: Electric, Wire & Connector

333781 came always assmebled with black trainrims in all sets.

I have saved these two photos as NIB/sealed as was claimed in the original listing.

If you would checked change log for this set
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogInvChangeItem.asp?itemType=S&itemNo=107-1&viewDate=Y&viewStatus=1
you would noticed that this change was done
Apr 6, 2010 by member TakeAbricK (she added this part to the inventory) and after
this change 4 days later she confirmed accuracy of this set
TakeAbricK (7400) confirmed accuracy of this inventory on Apr 10, 2010. (source: Sealed Set Contents)

So she checked sealed set contents here and I have no reasons not to believe
her then.

Looks like there was an example of this set having this early vartiant of connectors
(confirmed from sealed set contents). Unfortunatly forum messages of change requests
from 2010 are all purged now so if in this change request was something it is
gone.

This connector was added to the catalogue by a friend of mine, specialised in
old parts up to the Pat Pend Period. The wire was added to the catalogue by me.
These connectors (banana plug) don't exist in gray. The connectors on my
wire from set 107-1 are from a very different kind.

A long story short. I bought a sealed set 107-1. Checked the inventory. Found
another electric wire in it. Added it to the catalogue. After approval added
it to the inventory. After approval verified the inventory (source: sealed set).

Hi,

I've been busy for over an hour to check this change request. Very hard,
because some changes already were approved and some not. It looked like the whole
inventory would be wrong, so many change requests

First let me explain how inventory changes were made and denied or approved back
then (and still?).
- wheel assemblies were not allowed to add to the inventory as regular, but only
as counterpart. This is the very first time I see that a change request like
this (counterpart to regular) is approved. A lot of discussions passed, saying
that in sets the trainrims came always assembled to the wheels.
- removing items from an inventory was forbidden, because one couldn't tell
that the submitter really had this item in a sealed set (bricklink didn't
keep history (and still doesn't?). So if your removal requests would be approved,
that also would be the first time for me to experience

I didn't list the inventiry of this set. And if I would have, I wouldn't
have been able to verify it. I added part 996bc96gray, because I found it in
my sealed set 107-1.

Unfortunately, when verifying an inventory, it's not possible to add any
comments.
Otherwise I would have added the whole inventory of my sealed set as a comment.
Which contains the new added electric wire, black technice axles and rest like
the regular parts in the inventory.

So, imo there's no need to have any doubts about the verification of this
inventory.
For the sealed set I have (or had, for it's not sealed anymore ), contains
one of the alternates of the inventory.

I do have my doubts though about the blue connector and white wire. In all these
years I never found any proof, that sets from this period had blue connectors
of any kind.

Some questions for you:
- my sets has a blue seal, one of yours also have and it looks like the set is
not sealed anymore. the box is open at the back and you could easily remove the
wire and see of what type it is. the picture doesn't show the kind of connectors
- your picture of the other box shows gray connectors, which type of connector
is in your sets?
- why would you want to add part x466c96blue, as your set has gray connectors?

If you want to add items, just because it's shown on a picture of the box
or in a cataglue, please don't. I think that is also the reason the inventory
submitter added the blue connector. That would be number 6 (for the lised connector
is another one). There's no way this set came with 6 different connectors.

My conclusion:
- do not remove 996bc96gray, for this is (so far) the only electric wire that
is prooved to be found in a sealed set
- remove the blue connector and white wire
- move 996bc96gray from alternate to regular
- switch the axles, black to regular and white to alternate (never saw a 107-1
with white axles)

Thank you very much, You have no idea how much I appreciate this!

First let me explain how inventory changes were made and denied or approved back
then (and still?).

Many, many things changed form that time

  - wheel assemblies were not allowed to add to the inventory as regular, but only
as counterpart. This is the very first time I see that a change request like
this (counterpart to regular) is approved. A lot of discussions passed, saying
that in sets the trainrims came always assembled to the wheels.

From some time we approve and change assmbled wheels with tires from old sets
to regular section, we want to have regular section to match with how set looks
like when was new, sealed. So if parts came on sprues, such parts should be in
regural section, if wheels and tires came assembled in sealed set they should
be such in regular section etc. (even recently we accepted for the first time
string reel assembly to the regular section).

  - removing items from an inventory was forbidden, because one couldn't tell
that the submitter really had this item in a sealed set (bricklink didn't
keep history (and still doesn't?). So if your removal requests would be approved,
that also would be the first time for me to experience

We approve items removal from sets. Now topics on forum for all invetories change
requests which are approved are no longer purged. They are now preserved forever
(till Bricklink will be exist ) for future people. So history is now kept.
Nobody in future will once again wonder why this part discussed here was added
So all you comment and input here will now stay and will be able to check.
I approved from this change request wheels assemblies so this discussion for
this set will be preserved. Only older ones which already were purged are purged
and we don't know the reasons behind these changes when they are disputable.

Thank you for this. Will you submit this as new inventory change requests when
I will reject rest pending ones for this set?
I will only wait with formal decission to give chance Sezar to respond to all
of this.

Thank you once again
Marek

Thank you for this. Will you submit this as new inventory change requests when
I will reject rest pending ones for this set?
I will only wait with formal decission to give chance Sezar to respond to all
of this.

Thank you once again
Marek

Hi Marek,

Sounds great these changes.
In the meantime I added my change request:

This is only true for black trainrims as far as I know. It is not true for light
gray rims coming with 12v trains.

  - removing items from an inventory was forbidden, because one couldn't tell
that the submitter really had this item in a sealed set (bricklink didn't
keep history (and still doesn't?). So if your removal requests would be approved,
that also would be the first time for me to experience

My request to remove x461b from 7750 was approved. I had(and have) checked about
200 used and about 10 sealed copies.

https://www.bricklink.com/messageThread.asp?ID=235742

Side discussion: For some strange reason, I have not seen any copy of 7750 release
in 1981 or 1982 (only 1980). I have not seen any copy of 7730 in Netherlands
or Belgium. Both sets were advertised between 1980-1982 in various catalogs.
The set 7730 was released for the very first time in UK or Italy since summer
1982 (I don't know about France, but I think the same happened there) I have
seen copies of 7730 from 1980, 1981 and 1982 in Germany.

I didn't list the inventory of this set. And if I would have, I wouldn't
have been able to verify it. I added part 996bc96gray, because I found it in
my sealed set 107-1.

Very interesting.
There are many mistakes or incompleteness on inventories concerning wires. I
always thought TLG discountinued 1-prong connectors in very early 1970.
If you have this set as kept in its original condition, then two questions are
important:
1) was there any catalog in your Italian set? what catalog and from what year?
2) I guess your set came with this motor

Part No: x469b Name: Electric, Motor 4.5V Type C 12 x 4 x 3 1/3 (Train)
*
x469b (Inv) Electric, Motor 4.5V Type C 12 x 4 x 3 1/3 (Train)
Parts: Electric, Motor
Could you please open the motor and check the production date written on the
motor? That would give us good information.
It would also be nice if you can take some photos and upload them here.

There are not many sealed copies of this set in the market but you can already
found two used copies of this set on Markplaats right now, coming with these
blue connectors.
If you give me more time, I may find photo of a sealed set coping with blue connectors.

If you want to add items, just because it's shown on a picture of the box
or in a cataglue, please don't. I think that is also the reason the inventory
submitter added the blue connector. That would be number 6 (for the lised connector
is another one). There's no way this set came with 6 different connectors.

Not only 6, I think we should add one more wire
This set was released since 1976. I know the Canadian version was in production
at least until 1984
http://www.youblisher.com/p/1030479-1984-Canada-LEGO-Catalog/

and UK 1984 catalog
https://images.brickset.com/library/Catalogues/c84uk1.pdf

This is a rough more-or-less timeline of connectors:

1971 or 1972 until 1976, BLUE
[p=bb141c01]
1977 or 1978 until end of 1979: light gray
[p=bb141c01]
1980: (light gray)
[p=bb81c01]
1981-1994

Part No: 766c01 Name: Electric, Connector, 2-Way Male Squared Narrow Long with Center Post
*
766c01 (Inv) Electric, Connector, 2-Way Male Squared Narrow Long with Center Post
Parts: Electric, Wire & Connector
Also
1980-1993:

Part No: 765c01 Name: Electric, Connector, 1-Way Male Squared
*
765c01 (Inv) Electric, Connector, 1-Way Male Squared
Parts: Electric, Wire & Connector

I also made a mistake (and I meant mistkaes by myself not you ) : I got confused
between blue bb141c01 and blue bb236ac01

The connector was definitely used on this set as this set was released until
1984 and came with motor with contact hole with

Part No: x469bopen Name: Electric, Motor 4.5V Type D 12 x 4 x 3 1/3 with Open Contacts (Train)
*
x469bopen (Inv) Electric, Motor 4.5V Type D 12 x 4 x 3 1/3 with Open Contacts (Train)

Marek, is it possible to leave this request open? I am busy now, but I can work
more on it.

The best proof is a sealed set, the worst a used set on Marktplaats.
I have a lot of boxes and a lot of parts. If I put some in a box, this doesn't
mean it was sold like this back in the seventies.

Now I opened a sealed set back in 2010 to check the contents.
Not many people will do that. And now you are asking me to open a NEW motor?
Sorry, but I won't do that.

I would appreciate it if next time you contact the submitter, before you request
to remove an item from an inventory. Luckily Marek contacted me about this request.

- remove the blue connector and white wire
- move 996bc96gray from alternate to regular
- switch the axles, black to regular and white to alternate (never saw a 107-1
with white axles)

Diana

Diana

Dear Diana,

The best proof is a sealed set. No doubt. but we should consider this
- some sealed sets are fake. Unfortunately this happen more and more nowadays.
- used sets are not proof, but how many sealed copies of this set are left? And
we need many of them to find ALL variations of wires.
In the past, by checking many used sets, we get some idea of what part came or
did not come with the set. This will work if that part is rare, which is the
came for any wire coming with this set. Almost always, we saw or found the proof
after we knew what to expected. This always worked if checked with many many
many used sets.

I do not have any reason to think that the blue connectors did never come with
this set. This set is from 1976, as trains 182 and 183. These two trains came
with blue connectors, so why not 107? and I have seen them in used copies of
107 many times.

For sure, I had to contact you. In the past, when I doubted an inventory, I contacted
the submitted but they almost never replied my message. Naturally, I gave up
on doing that. Thanks for replying to this thread. I learnt a lot from you.
Next time, I will for sure write to the submitter for removing a part.

Now I opened a sealed set back in 2010 to check the contents.
Not many people will do that. And now you are asking me to open a NEW motor?
Sorry, but I won't do that.

From the way you wrote this, it seems you are offended by my request. I am sorry,
no ofense was intented.
I understand and appreciate your dedication, as myself I have paid a store owner
to take photos of his expensive MISB set; or I have bought few MISB sets partly
to check the content. So I understand you.
But I don't think openeing your motor would change it from NEW to USED. It
is just opening the screw.
Anyway, I found a used copy of this set in Germany coming with the type of connectors
you have and I will buy it and check the motor.
Did you get a chance to check the catalog inside your set?

Base on what you and Diana wrote I made such decissions

In Inventories Requests, SezaR writes:

  * Delete 2 Part bb141c01 Blue Electric, Connector, 2 Way male Rounded Narrow Type 1 with Cross-Cut Pins (match ID 2)
* Delete 1 Part x466 White Electric, Wire 12V / 4.5V with two Leads, unspecified length (match ID 2)

These two I approved as both of you agreed that these should be removed from
the inventory.

  * Delete 1 Part 996bc96gray White Electric, Wire 4.5V with four Light Gray 1-prong Connectors with Cross-Cut Pin, 96 Studs Long (Alternate) (match ID 2)

So this one wasn't removed as Diana found it in her sealed set. This request
is rejected.
Diana request of moving it to regular section was approved also these deleted
above have to be replaced by one of these complete wires.

  * Add 1 Part x466c96blue White Electric, Wire 12V / 4.5V with two Blue 2-prong connectors, Hollow Pins, 96 Studs Long (match ID 2)

So this one I left pending still.

I didn't request to add this wire, but only change it to assembled x466c96blue.
Before this request, the connectors and wire were already in the inventory.

Only these blue connectors need an evidence or all the others too?

Once in a while, a sealed or MISB copy of this set appears in the market but
the chance that it comes with those blue connectors are really slim because the
blue connectors appear AT MOST for one year (1976) and this was the earliest
version. (and I believe they did come with this set) Since 1977, the gray connector
(as they appeared in later versions of 182-1 and 183-1 too)
[p=bb141c01]
In 1980, the next connector
[p=bb81c01]
and between 1981-84:

Part No: 766c01 Name: Electric, Connector, 2-Way Male Squared Narrow Long with Center Post
*
766c01 (Inv) Electric, Connector, 2-Way Male Squared Narrow Long with Center Post
Parts: Electric, Wire & Connector
But I don't know anything about when this one came with this set:

Part No: 996bc96gray Name: Electric, Wire 4.5V with four Light Gray 1-prong Connectors with Cross-Cut Pin, 96 Studs Long
*
996bc96gray Electric, Wire 4.5V with four Light Gray 1-prong Connectors with Cross-Cut Pin, 96 Studs Long
Parts: Electric, Wire & Connector

I can get and ill try to get more information about them but this is really hard
as the set is very vintage!

I was confused between the blue connector
[p=bb141c01]
and
[p=bb236bc01]
The wire with connector

Part No: x466c96blue Name: Electric, Wire 12V / 4.5V with 2 Leads, 96 Studs Long with 2 Blue Electric, Connector, 2-Way Male Rounded Narrow Type 2 with Hollow Pins (x466c96 / bb0236ac01)

Parts: Electric, Wire & Connector
comes with the connector
[p=bb236bc01]
These things should be fixed (better photos to be added, wires need to have an
inventory so that we can easily see what connector comes with what wire)
I did not know that the blue connector
[p=bb141c01]
exists (thought it exists only in light gray). Currently, it appears only with
the set 901-1 (only released in US) but it is listed ONLY by European sellers.
With what set did these European sellers find it? (I don't know, but my guess
is 107-1)
The box art of 107-1 shows the blue connector
[p=bb141c01]
but the box art and instructions of sets 182-1 and 183-1 shows the connectors
[p=bb236bc01]
The white wire with blue connector bb141c01 is not yet added to the catalog of
BL. If the inventory admins decide to keep bb141c01 with 107-1, somebody should
first add it but I don't have any copy of this blue connector.

Sorry for the long wait for conclude this request
Exactly part assembly plugs with wire which you want to add to the set to replace
separate entries of plugs an wire are not the same, plugs variant is diffrent
in assembly than variant of blue plugs which was in this inventory.

I will return the original blue plug and white wire which were there before this
request to regular section of this inventory and move 996bc96gray to alternate.

So as this part which left in this request is wrong for this set (wrong variant
of plugs) this will be rejected.

We can return to this inventory when correct plug and wire assembly will be added
to the catalog with photo.
