I have had two part outs remove my remarks on items, leading me to have to manually
populate the remarks field on each item again in my inventory. Is anyone else
experiencing this or had this happen before?

There were indeed a series of bugs causing trouble for the remark field. Is this
a recent part out you are referring to, or did you find out much later? I and
other users have reported them earlier this year and it's supposed to be
fixed now. I can only find my post right now, maybe another user (calsbricks?)
can point you to another.

There were indeed a series of bugs causing trouble for the remark field. Is this
a recent part out you are referring to, or did you find out much later? I and
other users have reported them earlier this year and it's supposed to be
fixed now. I can only find my post right now, maybe another user (calsbricks?)

Strange, are you sure that both cases are under the exact same conditions? same
old/new remark settings, same concatenate option.. Another thing that may cause
a difference is a part out going through at once versus one that encounters an
error and needs reverification (there was a bug in exactly this part of the process
before).
If the difference would be purely time based, all other circumstances being completely
same, that'd be.. remarkable, no pun intended.

day it's not fixed. It's not a game, people can lose track of their inventory

So the only 1 thing I use the remark field for, is collectible minifigure parts......
and I just parted out 4 boxes of Harry Potter minifigs into parts.

And my remarks are all gone. And since inventory manipulation is from the stone
age and hasn't improved for what? 10 years? there's no way for me to
fix this simply without plowing through lists of parts.

Admins, can you guys please tag all my new (not consolidated) lots I just added
tonight with "mfs H"? I have reported these remark bugs ad nauseam so I really
don't think I deserve to go through all that. I'm in a pretty bad mood
so I'd appreciate that....... thanks

Good luck with this. Am I happy that I didn't part out any sets recently.
For if I loose my remarks, I might as well close my store.

I hope you will receive a reply soon, for I am waiting for replies on messages
to the helpdesk for over 4 months. 1 of them just resulted in an undeserved negative
feedback I received yesterday. So this morning I started all over again with
2 new messages.

Anyway, I hope this will be fixed soon for you and others. But since (I understand)
it happened more than once, I'm afraid parting out sets and consolidate parts
has no future?!
I didn't use this option for a while, but I just spend a lot of time the
last weeks, updating my inventory, to be able to use it again. Seems like another
waste of time.

So now I will continue adding parts manually, which is very time consuming, just
because I can't afford loosing my remarks.

concatenated remarks being duplicated during part-out.

I'll go ahead and let our dev team know so they can roll out a fix.

Wow, that's both super late for such an important fix, and super sloppy to
roll it out like that. I've stressed its importance many times and to this
day it's not fixed. It's not a game, people can lose track of their inventory
or get in trouble with orders they can't fill. I'm not even a remark
based store keeper and even I am bugged by this.

Correction:

So the only 1 thing I use the remark field for, is collectible minifigure parts......
and I just parted out 4 boxes of Harry Potter minifigs into parts.

And my remarks are all gone. And since inventory manipulation is from the stone
age and hasn't improved for what? 10 years? there's no way for me to
fix this simply without plowing through lists of parts.

Admins, can you guys please tag all my new (not consolidated) lots I just added
tonight with "mfs H"? I have reported these remark bugs ad nauseam so I really
don't think I deserve to go through all that. I'm in a pretty bad mood
so I'd appreciate that....... thanks

Good luck with this. Am I happy that I didn't part out any sets recently.
For if I loose my remarks, I might as well close my store.

I hope you will receive a reply soon, for I am waiting for replies on messages
to the helpdesk for over 4 months. 1 of them just resulted in an undeserved negative
feedback I received yesterday. So this morning I started all over again with
2 new messages.

Anyway, I hope this will be fixed soon for you and others. But since (I understand)
it happened more than once, I'm afraid parting out sets and consolidate parts
has no future?!
I didn't use this option for a while, but I just spend a lot of time the
last weeks, updating my inventory, to be able to use it again. Seems like another
waste of time.

So now I will continue adding parts manually, which is very time consuming, just
because I can't afford loosing my remarks.

This is undoubtedly going to affect alot of people, as parting out is at the
heart of the Bricklink system.

This is exactly what I meant when I was talking about the Bricklink budget and
that I cannot see where my money is going: There is definitely not even 1 FTE
even in the programming department. After all, these problems have existed for
MONTHS and are now WORSE, how can that be if there would be even 1 programmer
appointed a 9 till 5? How can you structrually miss it and fail at it for so
many days? It would be impossible. Remarks are being deleted systematically for
ALL sellers who part out which is really serious, and management doesn't
put anyone on it, everyone is just sent home and goes to sleep.

I hope they have the decency to repair the remarks wherever they can as soon
as they can (again: My 6 nov lots were remarked "mfs H", please put it back!).
Will probably be done by an admin coming from a wedding or in some other off
duty moment going out of their way, who's not even getting paid for proper
hours and has to deal with all of this negativity. We're all stuck in a system
where none of the people involved are to blame and management sits back an relaxes.
Let's spend the sellers money on another couple of AFOL Designer Program
talks and pages.

Today I am browsing vacancies, I've decided that after the high season in
January I want to do something else, at least until I can launch my own webshop.

There were indeed a series of bugs causing trouble for the remark field. Is this
a recent part out you are referring to, or did you find out much later? I and
other users have reported them earlier this year and it's supposed to be
fixed now. I can only find my post right now, maybe another user (calsbricks?)
can point you to another.

This is core functionality and in my opinion defects here are completely unacceptable
and must be fixed with the highest priority after the hosting and security of
the website. The admins have voiced they agree on this, so if these issues still
exist, I guess it would mean incompetence the programming department.

Nevermind Bricklink, I have already put back every remark that you removed due
to the bug I kept reporting. Manually for each lot, because Dan was pretty much
the last person to add inventory manipulation tools. At your service.

I have just noticed it when I went to part out a small set. I always add the
parts to my inventory before the actual part out. This has just cleared all the
remarks from these parts. With over 4000 locations for my parts I have now lost
the locations for this new part out.

I am not happy as I cannot find these parts without the location which has now
been blanked. Luckily I realised and found this thread and the bug mentioned,
but I now have to manually add the locations to these parts once I have found
the locations in my store on the other site. Time is at a premium without having
to do unnecessary tasks.

This error needs to be urgently notified before other stores screw up their inventory.
