Hello. I have placed a order for a set, and I sent the request for the invoice
with the correct S&H through the bricklink procedure. Later on, I got the order
cancelled by the seller with the following reason: "mutual agreement between
buyer and seller to cancel". There was also a message from the seller saying:
"Sorry but a problem with this lego set, I need to cancel".

It is my second order (the first is regularly on its way), so maybe I miss some
point due to my inexperience. Is this normal? Of course I never agreed to the
cancellation. What should I do now?

Thank you in advance for your help.

You don't want a set with a problem or perhaps no set at all.
There are many other stores to spend your money.

Sorry to hear about your experience, that is not usual at all, and certainly
not to mark it as "mutual agreement" (I don't believe these reasons have
any consequences or functionality, but anyway sounds like the seller is afraid
to admit his own failure towards Bricklink)

What you could do (if you manage, because I know Bricklink is not easy to learn!)
is start an NSS - a non shipping seller procedure. This warns the seller officially
to send the order and when they don't and some time passes, it is officially
marked on their account. But what is most important about this is that it disables
them to leave feedback in your profile. So you can leave negative feedback and
will not have to worry about the seller taking revenge by replying in kind (which
is sadly something that happens otherwise).

You can of course forget and move on, but I think it would be nice if this bad
and unusual behaviour is reflected in their profile for future buyers.

Dear Teup, thank you very much for your help.

I see in the options: "File a Non-Shipping Seller Alert if payment has been
made and you haven't received your order
and you are not able to resolve
the situation with the seller". I did not pay for the set, yet, because I was
waiting for the invoice with the correct amount of S&H costs. May I use this
option anyway?

I think a negative feedback would be appropriate in this situation, but I don't
want one back as a retaliation, especially because I'm still a newby and
a "-1" could be very bad for reputation among sellers.

Brickwilbo, maybe you are right, but would not be better a different behavior
/ communication from the seller? The set was quite a deal (and no, there are
not that many at such a price to spend my money at, unfortunately), so it is
difficult not to think that maybe the seller has decided to stop the order because
he got another offer with a message or that he will assign a higher price to
the set in the future...

It's not possible to start a NSS, NRS or NPB for a canceled order.

It is unusual or bad behaviour on the part of the seller. To cancel, without
first discussing this with you is poor form.
A possibility is that the seller realized the set was underpriced and did not
want to sell it to you. Or there could be some legitimate problem with the set.

In my opinion, you are probably lucky you did not pay this seller and have to
deal with other problems. I would probably just move on, and never purchase
from this seller again. The issue of feedback? Well that's up to you. You
could always let the readers of this discussion know the seller, so people can
be forewarned and forearmed.

Wow, that is petty, petty, petty. Agreed, that he should have explained a little
better what the problem was, and should not have said mutual agreement when it
obviously wasn't. But name shaming over something so silly! It's not
like you had already paid or something? You should cancel this thread.

Please take it a bit easier on the new member... It was another member who suggested
they name the seller. They didn't originally offer the name or suggest that
they wanted to. Perhaps you meant to respond with this comment to the person
who suggested they name the seller? From how I see it, if I was brand new on
the site and someone with 1k+ feedback suggested they name the seller, I'd
probably do it thinking that it's clearly the norm if it was suggested
. Just
my 2 cents...

Thank you, Nymira. That was exactly my thought.

I didn't know that, while you can put a negative feedback, it is considered
bad behaviour to give out a name. Especially because it has been suggested. Anyway,
I deleted my post.

I can not do anything about that, AFAIK.

Was it a high value set? Is it relisted in the store?

May guess if it was a high value set was that they were afraid to sell to a new
buyer with zero feedback.
