| Please make changes to the following inventory:
* Change 1 Part {Light Gray to Black} 6630 Technic, Gear Rack 1 x 8 with Holes

only one set for sale and this part is black, my set also contains a black part 6630 and i believe this to be the original configuration

There are indeed two versions of the set. The 2002 version shows 826 pieces
while the 2004 version (see attached image) shows 828 pieces.
As best I can tell, the printed parts lists for both versions show the light
gray gear rack, but the later edition definitely came with black. From what
I've been able to determine the original 2002 set came with light gray.
So I agree that black should be an alternate part for this set and also for this
set which is the same set with a different part (serial vs. USB):

Black part was added as an alternate in this set. So your request have to be
rejected but thanks for finding this issue.
