| Why is there no catalog entry for the assembled version of and ?
Is it because there aare no hinges that have the 2 parts in the same color?
Just curious.

There is a catalog entry:
I think what you may actually be asking is why it doesn't appear in any sets.
The reason is because there are no written rules on what should or shouldn't
be considered a counterpart and when said counterparts should be included in
set inventories (although if a counterpart exists in the catalog, it should probably
appear in some set's inventory).
I hope to see this corrected within the next few months and have some of the
counterpart disorder of the past cleaned up.

just to confirm then, any set that is getting parted out for catalogue that has
a part like a hinge, turntable, joint etc that is made up to 2 separate parts,
should be added as a counterpart as a matter of course.

I definitely don't subscribe to that viewpoint. My thought at this moment
is that the two criteria for counterpart inclusions in inventories should be:
1. The part came assembled in a set, or
2. Once assembled, one or more of the parts is likely to be damaged by
disassembly.
Beyond that, I see no legitimate reason for non-stickered counterpart inclusion
in inventories (but I genuinely haven't given it significant thought at this
point).
