| The instructions, box and catalogs shows that the white windows 27 come with
glass. But I have checked about 40 copies of this set in market but never saw
one single glass with them. Please note that
- among those copies I checked, there were some from early 1980 (as the production
date of the motor shows; or other parts or even the box since the inner trays
of the box was changed since late 1980)
- it is very difficult to remove the glass from this windows or its earlier variations.
So we cannot expect they all (40 copies) disappeared/lost at once.
- I have checked some copies of earlier trains such as 180, 181, 182, 183, 726
since they came with
or
but they all came with glass. I believe TLG removed the glass from these two
windows in 1980.
- Among those sellers from whom I asked about these windows, three of them claimed
their windows had glasses, so I requested photos. It turned out that two sellers
were confused and showed me photos of the other white window on the back of the
white car (the part 7026). I attach the photo of the third seller. It took me
some time to realize what was wrong in that photo. Do you see that?

It's cellophane! Someone has taped cellophane inside the backs of the windows
and is saying they have glass, right?
Is that what you're seeing?

| Lol!
I have seen all kinds of idiots on Ebay but not of this type. I think nobody
dare to do this because Ebay would protect buyer.
(the last idiot on Ebay: there was a vintage boxed set in US. I contacted the
seller and asked him if he would ship it to Canada. He said he would but the
shipping would cost 80$ USD! The other seller had few boxed sets. In each box,
there were many random parts. I asked him about one boxed train 7722 and if he
can send me more photos of the parts...having seen the photo, I wrote him that
the train wass not complete at all. His response: "Huh? What is missing?? All
figures are there, all trains, crossing piece, etc. what is missing?!?!?"
)
I attached photos of my own windows in white or red. You should be able to see
the difference.

The windows are the old type with extended lip. Of course these have glass, but
they are not original to a set from 1980.
I have approved this request based on direct knowledge of this part. There are
a lot of issues with these early windows, but in general the glass was removed
from the smaller ones as time went on.

Exactly. I received the photo about two months ago. This was the only windows
27 coming with glass that I saw with 7730. But I got an idea that these windows
could be the earlier variant
It was to hard to catch this on that photo.
I had ordered these windows twice from two sellers, one in US and one in Germany.
both had listed the wrong windows. I think some notes (and photos) should be
added to these windows (27, 27b,...) pointing out that they are similar.
