| I'm slightly intrigued by the following, which may be a bug.
I've been looking at the inventory of the set
The "Gear" section of the set includes a Technic pen.
However, even though the catalog entry for the pen has an image, instead of the
pen's image being included in the inventory, it displays "No Image" instead.
I think that this (i.e. displays "No Image" instead of the available image) only
occurs when the given item has a colour specified of "Not Applicable" for the
item. It appears that the pen originally had a colour of black specified but
this was altered to "Not Applicable".
So, the bottom line question I have is, is it a bug that an item with a colour
specified as "Not Applicable" will not have its image displayed as part of a
set inventory?
Regards,
David

Might be a local cache issue - I see the small image of the pen in this inventory
as well as the inventory of the other set it is in.
But you are correct that the same item is inventoried in both black and "not
applicable" when it appears there really is only one version of it.
There are only two of them for sale right now, both listed under "black." Maybe
we should delete the N/A entry?

Do a hard refresh and try it now.

Thank you. Whatever is was that was done has corrected it without the need for
any refresh.
For my future reference, if I see something like this for another item, was this
a catalog quirk that to be resolved needs some form of manual intervention?

The image system on BrickLink is currently going through a modification, and
images are currently pulled from several different layers depending on the page
you are looking at. After this process is over (give us another year for it to
be truly complete) the system will be simpler and more reliable, and there shouldn't
be problems like what you have mentioned.
However, there are many, many image problems that need manual adjustment as well.
In this case, the same image was being used both for Not Applicable and Black,
and the inventories were split. In the interests streamlining sales of this part,
I consolidated everything to Black.
If you see any discrepancy, especially one involving an image, please report
it so it can be fixed.

No, you were correct, it needed manual intervention. I copied the image from
the Not Applicable color to the Black color this morning, enabling you to see
it, but didn't have time to deal with the xref moves, inventory considerations
or post about it this morning.
