It definitely came with the red switch variant. Please share the reasons for
requesting the addition of the black switch variant.
Also, are we saying this thing is red (the battery box portion) or black (the
base)? The current inventory includes a red battery box car and the photo you
uploaded of the new variant is red. If you'd like to add the alternate in
red and submitting it as black was just an error, then don't worry about
it - I can fix it and there's no need to submit a new request. Just let
me know.

| I am not following well.
Both battery wagons are red. The difference is the switch. the regular part comes
with RED battery wagon with RED switch and
the alterlate would be the RED battery wagon with BLACK switch.
I had also request to change the name of
x488c02 "Train Battery Box Car with Switch and Black Wheels"
to
Train Battery Box Car with red Switch and Black Wheels. Similarly for its counterpart
x488c02pb01
Why my requests were rejected?

Okay, so the request to add an alternate in black was just a typo. That's
fine, I can easily fix it later. Here is the request as you submitted it with
the relevant sections highlighted in bold:

As for this question:
| Why my requests were rejected?
|
That would be something you'd need to ask a catalog administrator. They
handle requests for name changes. My guess would be that it was not deemed to
be necessary information since the new part name defines the alternate switch
color - I don't know for sure, though.

| Yes that was a type.
was the catalog administrator aware of my new request to add this new variant
battery box? If no, that might be the reason they rejected. How can we check
this?

Okay, so the way BrickLink works is that catalog administrators do all of the
catalog work. Inventories administrators like myself only work with inventories.
There are 2 catalog administrators and 1 inventory administrator here on BrickLink.
You can read more about that on this page:
https://www.bricklink.com/memberAdmins.asp
So yes, the catalog administrators were aware of your request to add the new
variant because they would have approved it. If you're curious as to why
the name change requests were rejected, you're always free to PM them and
ask.

| This variant of the battery box is very rare. If you google 7722, ALL images
comes with the red switch.
I bought mine as a spare part from Ebay of UK. This didn't give me any clue.
I wrote a quiz on eurobrick forum. One guy had this rare variant and confirmed
that he got it with the train 7722.

It definitely came with 7722, I never had the service pack when I was a child.
I believe I got it in 1989 but I may be off a year. I am just headed out of town,
but I can study some old photos when I return and see if I can pin it down exactly.
Also, I know it was ordered from Shop-at- home. Here is a photo of it going around
my childhood layout a couple years later. A bit blurry with the old film camera,
but you can make out the black switch!

P.S. the black brick wheels 4180c01 have black pin (in rare releases, they come
with red pin. This special brick wheels are requested to be added to catalog
items)

| Hi Robert,
As the magnets of the train bases such as
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?P=736c02
can be taken off and were sold separately, I think it would be a good idea to
split the battery wagons, like this one
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=x488c01&idColor=11#T=C&C=11
They come with the same magnets as for x487c01 or 736c02. How can I request
this?

| There are few different battery wagons. Each came assembled to its magnets couplings
(735) in the sealed box . (like minifigures that are assembled to their arms).
It is a good idea to split them so that people can see how and from where to
buy magnets. So, I am suggesting the catalog entry of battery wagons to be excatly
like train base plates such as
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?P=736c02
Hope this is clear.
Then how can I submit such a request?
