| Please make changes to the following inventory:
* Add 3 Part 54200 Trans-Clear Slope 30 1 x 1 x 2/3 (Alternate) (match ID 1)
* Add 1 Part 54200 Trans-Clear Slope 30 1 x 1 x 2/3 (Alternate) (match ID 1)
* Change 3 Part Trans-Medium Blue 54200 Slope 30 1 x 1 x 2/3 {match ID 0 to 1}

| Could someone help me out, how I can make an alternate for an extra part?
In this case there are 3 regular parts and 1 extra part.
I wanted to add 2 new alternate entries, with quantity 3 as regular parts and
quantity 1 as extra part, but for the extra part I am not able to set the match
ID...
Thanks Mauro

It is not possible to do this with an inventory request, although I have the
ability to add Match IDs to parts in the Extras section.
Stand by on this request, please. I am consulting with BrickLink management
to see how they want this issue handled on their website.
Interestingly, the set instructions actually show the trans-clear part in both
the set build and the parts list in the back.

Take a look at
This set adds the regular and extra altenates under one alternate entry. Is that
not what is needed here?

Maybe. What about the way it's done here?

IMHO that's a better way to do it. I hope that a decision will be made on
which solution is to be used, and I hope sets not conforming to the chosen solution
will be updated.
Best wishes,
Jan

| My approach is different to the both above bu the both are clearly better then
mine.
So I will wait for the decision.

I have gone with the approach seen here:
I have approved your requests and updated the inventory.
| I hope sets not conforming to the chosen solution will be updated.

I believe in consistency, but for the time being no changes will be made to existing
set inventories. I have suggested a solution to management which will require
a bit of coding, but should result in a more accurate reflection in inventories
of this type of situation.

| This ist perfect, thank you.
It will be good, when the requester will be able to do that by himself.
