This catalog entry served as the hollow stud version before 3684a was added to the catalog. So all appearances of 3684 in set inventories should be changed to 3684a.
Can admins do a mass update for this sort of thing? It would save a lot of work if that was possible.

Not that I'm aware of - at least I don't have the ability to do so.
As far as I know, it's about the same amount of work whether I go in and
edit the inventories directly or whether someone else submits inventory change
requests which I approve.
Changing each appearance of this part in sets is on my list of things to do unless
someone else gets to it first.
