Maybe this already exists, but it might be nifty to be able to search for more
than one part at a time to see which store offers the best price for both. Or
more.

just use the "classic" (aka "working") version of the wanted list; much easier
and practical to work with and none of the non-essential giddy-ups

(thank god they brought back the classic version; they should never have removed
it in the first place IMO)

The new version also works very well for OP’s purpose.

“Buy” has many useful features that don’t exist in the older “By Shop”:

1. You can search for multiple WLs at the same time.
2. You can individually select the parts you’re searching for.
3. You can require parts (i.e. make them mandatory and hide shops that don’t
have them).
4. You can see which parts a shop has and if the shop can fulfill your wanted
quantity in one click.
5. You can easily modify your part selection while staying on the same page (no
back and forth).
And I may forget a few more.

Besides, it’s not given that BL will not eventually remove the classic views.
Learning how to use the modern one is a better bet.
