I've had too many "100% complete" purchases that weren't. From talking
to sellers it seems they just say something is complete but most aren't actually
checking. I feel this is a disservice to buyers.

Perhaps a field that says "I have checked the set against the BL piece list and
it actually is 100% complete" or something like that. They will still lie,
but maybe it will curtail things a bit.

And on the buyers end, rather than just a positive/neutral/negative, there should
be more. Like a "was it actually 100% complete?" Then if you see that only
75% of the time a seller is actually selling complete sets you can steer clear.

Voted no. It is not necessary. Sellers already have the choice of listing as
complete or incomplete. Having an extra step/check box before an item can be
listed won't make a difference.

Agreed.

If sellers list things as complete, when they are not. There won't really
be anything stopping them just ticking the 100% button when they are not.

Any used sets I buy in I always build from the actual Lego instructions (or if
built rebuild) as that way I know it is 100% complete, I think there have been
times were BL inventory and the Lego inventory don't correlate.

This already exists if the seller uses common sense when listing. Adding another
checkbox will not get the lazy people to do anything different. I check against
BL inventory when I list and again before I ship a set out just in case I made
an error or the BL inventory changed.

I try my best to document what pieces are missing from a set when listing. I
have had an incident where I had a set 100% complete, but in the process of packing
the set for shipping, a small bag of pieces was misplaced. I found the bag a
day or two later under the couch, and immediately mailed it and sent the original
buyer an email explaining what had happened. I'm not saying this is what
happens every time an order is shipped not complete, but I would have never known
had I not been crawling around on the living room floor looking for the remote
for the TV. I would have received an email from the buyer complaining about
the incomplete order and I would assume he either lost them or was trying to
just get a partial refund. Unfortunately there are people out their looking
to screw people over, however keep in mind, accidents happen.
