I confirm that from my original set.

I confirm that from my original set.

I also confirm my set 6882 has 792c02.

It's possible that

Set No: 6940 Name: Alien Moon Stalker
*
6940-1 (Inv) Alien Moon Stalker
252 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 1986
Sets: Space: Classic Space
needs to have 792c02 as an alternate. My 6940 built model does have a hole.

I also checked

Set No: 6822 Name: Space Digger
*
6822-1 (Inv) Space Digger
28 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 1981
Sets: Space: Classic Space
and my built models have

Part No: 792c01  Name: Arm Holder Brick 2 x 2 with 2 Rectangle Holes with Arm (792 / 794 / 795)
*
792c01 (Inv) Arm Holder Brick 2 x 2 with 2 Rectangle Holes with Arm (792 / 794 / 795)
Parts: Arm
Although the instructions seem to show the hole on top, I have 3 of this model
without the hole on top.

I only have 3 LG and 2 Blue from 6880-1, 6882-1, and 6951-1.

Is 792c01 a more recent version than 792c02 or are they (almost) concurrent as
shown in the catalogue? (1980-1986/7)

I am rather certain these parts were not released concurrently and that the one
with a hole in the top was the original part due to its being from the same molds
as the Homemaker torso:

Part No: 792c03 Name: Arm Holder Brick 2 x 2 with Round Top Hole with Arms (792 / 793 / 795) (Homemaker Figure / Maxifigure Torso Assembly)
*
792c03 (Inv) Arm Holder Brick 2 x 2 with Round Top Hole with Arms (792 / 793 / 795) (Homemaker Figure / Maxifigure Torso Assembly)
Parts: Arm

Considering the fact that the torso parts were distributed separately in some
markets, it may be time to start thinking about adding the inventories of these
assemblies to the system.

I have just checked my collection of childhood sets with the bricks in question.
I have:

2 x 792c02 Blue
5 x 792c02 LG
1 x 792c01 LG

They belong to these sets:

6821 (1980) - 1 LG
6822 (1981) - 1 LG
6880 (1982) - 2 LG
6951 (1984) - 2 Blue
6882 (1985) - 1 LG
6940 (1986) - 1 LG

Rusell suggests that 792c02 is the oldest, therefore my one 792c01 must be from
6940 which fits with 6940's current inventory. All the 792c02's must
therefore come from the other sets, which means that the current inventories
for the following sets must be updated, either changing the part or adding an
alternate because they currently have 792c01 in them.

6821
6822
6882

Best wishes,
Jan

I've made requests to change the inventory for sets 6821 and 6822. Change
of 6882 from this thread is still pending.

Best wishes,
