| Hello Everyone,
In June of last year, we introduced a new Wanted List upgrade. This upgrade came
with a newly-designed buying experience which focused on the necessity to compare
and plan out multiple carts at once, as well as make it easier to manage multiple
lists.
Since BrickLink's Wanted List is a core feature for most users, we currently
provide the classic version for members to use as a backup in case there are
glitches with the new version. This is intended to be a temporary solution.
The classic version of the Wanted List feature will become unavailable on
June 5, 2017. At this point, we have ensured that the new version of the
Wanted List covers all desired functionality (plus more) from the classic version.
If you have any issues with the new version, please let us know as soon as possible.
Thank you for the continued support, bug reports, and helpful feedback as we
continue to roll out important changes.
Sincerely,
Jaclyn

| Before you cancel the classic Wanted List I have to register a complaint (uh,
sounds like the parrot sketch from Monty Python)!!!
The new Wanted List is downloadable, thanks. But the new Wanted List still
isn't printable. A function for this is needed. And don't forget
to implement a printer- friendly design...

Want / Wanted List / “the list you want”
On top of the list, just below the green toolbar: on the left is the name of
the list, on the right is a bunch of buttons. “Download” should do it

I don't remember why it can't remain.
What is the harm in keeping the Classic view available?

Another function that is missing from the new....
- Delete all items in a wanted list
Please add this before disabling. Its actually the only reason I ever switch

| Hello Jaclyn,
one year ago BL changed a wanted list key feature. Are you and the developers
even aware of it?
When clicking on "Wanted List" after entering a store, BL shows me the items
this store offers which are on my wanted list. Before the update, the list only
contained the items from my wanted list which were priced below my max prices.
This changed with the update of the store fronts: Now always *all* items are
being shown. The only difference is, that the "Max price:" information of items
with prices higher than my max prices is being shown in red letters.
Too much information! I do not want to scroll through the bigger part of my wanted
list every time, I simply want to know quickly which items from my wanted list
are available for a good price in a specific store... no chance. I have not used
my wanted list for a year now.
Kind regards,
Matthias

I agree, I had forgotten about this. I think its part of the store display,
not the wanted list functions, but I agree. It is a huge pain to see unfiltered
wanted list matches in each store. Please add the filter options back!
1. Store price
2. Store quantity = wanted list min quantity
3. Both price and quantity match.
Thanks!

Has this issued been sorted out? Or are there any tweaks?
When inside a store, is there way to see only the items on my wanted list *below*
my max price?
Thank you.

The "New" wanted list incorrectly lists the price of parts. As an example, compare
the price as listed in the "new" wanted list (first screenshot) against the actual
price listed in the store (second screenshot). Disclaimer; if the screenshots
are not that legible, it is because the new wanted list uses a lot more screen
real estate (i.e. width and height) than the classic format, so the images might
get scaled by BrickLink in uploading to the forum.

This is very disappointing news... I don't know if it is my browser or because
I am on a Mac, but the new wanted list pages don't work correctly for me...
All I get is a list of stores selling an item on my list (and my filters are
never saved so must be reset EVERY time I go to it) in no particular order, without
even the price showing. I have to click on each item as if I were going to buy
it to even look at it... I only use the classic version to do my shopping.
I wish you would reconsider...

Same here, I'm on a Windows machine & I find the new wanted list completely
useless, I use the classic version to do my purchasing. I prefer having the ability
to see a price list for items without having to view each individual catalogue
entry for each & every item I may want to purchase (don't tell me I can change
options, because as soon as I return to that list, all changes have been reset
& this it only site I have this issue with). It can already be tedious trying
to find a couple of extra items to meet minimum purchase when my planned purchases
fall short of it. I don't even bother with the Buy Wizard as it regularly
lists the more expensive stores first, even when they have less items than stores
that would be cheaper for me, purchase price & shipping. Why this push to get
rid of the classic set up, why can't it be kept? Aren't enough people
using the new wanted list setup to make it worth money spent making it? I'm
curious breakdown percentages of people using each...

On the new Wanted List, the notify feature (on/off) does not toggle properly.
I can click the little bell and it turns into a checkbox, and then I uncheck
the box. But there is no "Apply" tab for the notify column, at least not one
that I can see. So when I move on to do something else, the bell reverts back
to normal.
As a workaround, I delete the entry and add a new one with the correct notify
status.

Russell,
When the checkboxes are present, a blue bar pops up across the bottom of my browser

| Jaclyn,
BrickLink,
We still can't add the same part multiple times on a single wanted list.
This was possible with the classic wanted list.
Worse, currently we have at least 1 wanted list that has a part twice or more
in it. This prevents us from modifying *anything* on *any* wanted list using
the new front-end. So, we have been forced to use the old wanted list 100% of
the time.
Hope this will be fixed before June 5th!
Kind regards, Jan & Marcel.

| This is very bad news, I will try to be constructive.
I use the old wanted list 95% of the time.
The new wanted list is good for copying, deleting and some editing my lists,
that is the only time I use it.
But I way way way prefer the old one for browsing, finding items and for the
purchasing of items.
The new wanted list just doesn't work! I dont trust it to buy anything, the
results are always expensive! and I just dont like the way it looks.
I just played around with again for a few minutes, and firstly just like the
new orders pages it just takes up so much screen space.
As soon as I click on the New wanted list it is displayed incorrectly. I have
1000's of items on my lists and I would expect at least the first 3 pages
to be black items as per my settings:
Color, Item Name - so why is it, just looking at the first 5 items
light bluish gray
light bluish gray
light bluish gray
Dark bluish gray
light bluish gray
there is no logical order at all to the items.
I change it to
Color, Item number, and then back again to Color, item name
now I get a completely different frist 5 items
a minfigure
Black
Black
Dark bluish gray
Dark bluish gray
Next and Importantly I couldn't get the 'sort store by' feature to
work either
Just clicking '10179 sticker' sorted by best price:
I received sellers prices in the following order
471.16
152.66
198.45
104.76
109.83
it didn't matter how I chose to 'sort stores by' I cant get it to
work
these are just two things I tried over the last half an hour. I just cant get
it to show any correct results.
Now im also worrying when will the classic order page be deactivated?
Please let us choose what we want to use!
I feel really worried by the thought of losing all these great old features!

| Also as someone else has stated, the new wanted list does not seem to retain
some settings
the sort by on page
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/list.page
keeps changing to 'Newest'
I have also done a few screen shots to show the display issue, and the store

| Are there any tutorials on how to tweak the new wanted list? I find it very
cumbersome and non-intuitive, and keep going back to the classic list because
I don't have to spend so much time scrolling and trying to figure out how
to make it work for me. So, is there a BrickLink for Dummies I can refer to?
Thanks!

In June of last year, we introduced a new Wanted List upgrade. This upgrade came
with a newly-designed buying experience which focused on the necessity to compare

Since BrickLink's Wanted List is a core feature for most users, we currently
provide the classic version for members to use as a backup in case there are

I tried to change the color of a piece from Not Applicable to yellow. All I
get is a message saying something along the lines of "only one item combination

I can't even figure out what that means.
It would seem that all the bugs are not worked out.

| It means you already have that exact part in that exact color on your list, so
it won't change or consolidate the lot. You need to manually change the
quantity of the part in yellow and delete the non-applicable one.

you are saying that the same part may exist somewhere else in the entirety of
all my other wanted lists. I can not change the color or quantity of a part

So, I will have to delete and re-add a part in order to change the color or quantity?
Seems like a bit of a hassle.

The error message can refer to any wanted list. Depending on how you use the
wanted list, you might have to search through dozens of lists and thousands of
items to find the one that is causing the issue...

If I remember correctly, it happens with “old” wanted lists that have a doublon
(unconsolidated lots were allowed).
You can have the same part/color combination in several WL, but not in one WL.
And having one somewhere, even if it’s not the same part or color, causes this
error for any other part.

I think that is correct. The double entries were caused by moving an item from
one wanted list into another.
Sadly, the error message is not very helpful if you want to solve the problem.
The problem would be much easier to solve if you knew which part(s) on which
wanted list(s) were causing the issue.

A bit like when you import an LXF. Just a “there’s an error” message.
Cars (and other things) are like that now too: one unique “You’re screwed” light,
and you’ve to go to a professional just so they can plug a computer-case, and
then say they don’t know and have to open the engine….
(Yes, it happened to me recently. Twice. So I’ve a bit of a grudge. )

seem to use the classic system, myself included.
I copy/paste my list from the screen at the end after parting out a set and having
the list of parts I'm missing - I cant do that with the new look.
Please don't get rid of the classic option!

| Hi myLegopapa_mama,
I'm sorry to hear that you've had a hard time using the new Wanted List.
For the price filtering issue, you may be using the wrong filters. Please double-check
if you're using the item for sale options at the top. If you sort
by price with the wanted item filters, your wanted items will be sorted by the
max price you have indicated.
https://www.screencast.com/t/hQFhCNIHPW2R
To help make this more intuitive, we're going to change the wanted item filter
to say "Max Price". Please let me know if you have any other specific issues
with the updated Wanted List that we can address.
If any of you notice an error with the wanted list update, please send a bug
report to bugs@bricklink.com.
Thanks!

| We have used all the coreect filters and it is still difficult to use not nearly
as intuitive as the "Classic" and it never keeps the filters...for example we
choose to buy only from USA stores and constantly had to reset that option. Others
have listed many more of the issues... not sure why you can't leave the "classic"
up for those who prefer it...but you did send us searching for other options
to purchase our Lego parts...

Thank you! I haven't commented in this thread but I am glad to see you're
taking a little more time before the roll out. Surprisingly, I actually prefer
the newer version for creating/modifying a wanted list. But I still prefer the
older version when shopping/comparing with my wanted lists. I hope all of that
functionality is retained, specifically the "By Shop" function.
I'm the type of person who would not use the easy buy function--I prefer
to browse and compare manually, not have everything handed to me. Sometimes
simply browsing is part of the fun. There are lot of factors other than price
and availability that come into play when I'm shopping (do I like the store's
terms, the seller's general demeanor, his feedback, the item descriptions;
are there any other items in the store--impulse buys--that weren't
on my wanted list). Frankly, I just don't trust a one-click solution.
The newer version still has several problems that need to be addressed (that
I think have all been addressed here already).
Anyway, I probably got of track a little bit, but I think I got my concerns out.
Thanks again for being receptive to the Forum community.

simply browsing is part of the fun. There are lot of factors other than price
and availability that come into play when I'm shopping (do I like the store's
terms, the seller's general demeanor, his feedback, the item descriptions;
are there any other items in the store--impulse buys--that weren't
on my wanted list). Frankly, I just don't trust a one-click solution.
The newer version still has several problems that need to be addressed (that
I think have all been addressed here already).
Anyway, I probably got of track a little bit, but I think I got my concerns out.
Thanks again for being receptive to the Forum community.

I have no time or wish to learn how to buy using only the new want list. I
definitely do not have the time to tweak my wanted list until it starts behaving
like the classic one.
I only buy using the classic "By Shop".
Does it "hurt you" to keep the classic ?
Thank you.

| Thank you Jaclyn! We really appreciate your team being open and to listen to
the community. The classic wanted list functions are a killer feature in BL and
the New Wanted List needs to be able to at least do what it's predecessor
could do before phasing out the classic.

Hello Bricklink Team,
two question. Why do you "cancel" the classic version. Is it more work for you?
If not i would be happy if the old Version stays. I find the old verion easier
and clearer for me.

| I never use the new wanted list and if there is any way to keep the classic one
that would be great. I tried the new one and hated the set up and found it much
harder to use (among other things) It will be sad and frustrating if the classic
list goes away. I use the classic list for work as well and for personal use
almost everyday. PLEASE KEEP THE CLASSIC LIST!

| Here are my important comments to the New Wanted List:
Where can I save the settings like in the old version for example the location?
https://www.bricklink.com/wantedSettings.asp
These settings works only with the Classic Wanted List. Where I can found the
settings for the New Wanted List or must I do the settings always again?
Where can I found the additional listing if there are more than 20 shops have
the item?
„Additional lots supressed. Click Here to use the search engine to view
all lots.“
In this page I have the settings from my wanted list item and I can make an additional
search with different settings, for example change the location from European
Union to only Germany, which I can do with only one click.
If I must use the show all functionality of the New Wanted List I must make all
settings again, why?
What I must set, that I get the list sortet really by lowest price?
I have added two screenshots with the not correct sorting of the New Wanted List
and the correct sorting of the Classic Wanted List. In both screenshots I think
that I have the same settings.
Sort by: Color, Item Name
Stores: Lowest Price
Order: Up
In the middle of the first screenshot is one price with EUR 0.00, and when I
go to the shop the price is EUR 0,2676. In the Classic Wanted List is no entry
with EUR 0.00.
So I get not valid price information what make the New Wanted List unusable,
if I don’t see the correct prices.
Wrong color sorting
The sorting is not by color name. The trans colors and pearl colors are after
the white color.
So the sorting is not by the color name as in the Classic Wanted List, why?

Absolutely horrible idea.
The "New" version is still a mess and still clearly favors selection over price.
It is also nearly impossible to improve over the speed of the "Classic" when
trying to look at large quantities across different stores for a category of
parts.

| Before closing the old system down can you please explain how I can change the
order when I am parting out a set? In the old system I could choose how to list
the items, I prefer to list them by colour. The new system only seems to display
them by item number and I can't find anywhere to change it. For me it would
be a nightmare trying to find the items by number instead of colour.

| Thanks for deciding to delay the rollout, I appreciate the listening to the users!
Here's some thoughts on why I still prefer the Classic view to the new one:
I still regularly go to the Classic Wanted List to view all my wanted parts at
once (50 per page limit aside). Though I should get into the Apply Order feature,
adjusting them by hand usually worked quite well.
There's too much vertical space used for the list of part categories and
list of wanted lists, which means we have to scroll about a lot more than with
the Classic Wanted List. It's easier and quicker to be able to see more information
on the screen. This affects the Wanted List landing page, the Buy page (On the
left hand side I can only see 4 of my 14 wanted lists at a time!)
I also think it'd be great if the Auto-Buy Store Selector would also show
you how many items that store has from your Want List. That would really help
when you have a lot of parts to buy but want to prioritise a few rarer/more urgent
ones!

| Hi!
I would just like to say that I do not like the pop-ups in the new version to
even see what the stores have available from the Wanted category you choose.
Annoying and inconvenient compared to being able to see it at a glance in the
Classic version (unless there is suppressed lots). Also there just seems to be
more clutter and extra steps in this version, which is also slightly frustrating.
I get that lots of other people like this new version, and I'm not saying
you should keep the old version, I just think these things should be changed.
If I'm one of a handful of people who feels this way then whatever....I know
when I'm outnumbered.
Love this site and hope to use it many years down the road.
Cheers, God Bless, adios, whatever,
N.B

| Dear Jaclyn,
Firstly, thank you so much for you and your team for your great work here in
BL.
I use the BL wanted list almost every day.
The new Wanted List looks really sleek and is very user-friendly. However, I
am still using the classic wanted list at the moment because of these 2 issues:
1) Restriction of New Wanted List
I get this error when I try to modify the quantity of an item on the new Wanted
List interface (BL_WantedList Restriction.jpg). This restriction does not apply
to the classic Wanted List.
2) Full List View of Classic Wanted List
This view (BL_Classic_View.jpg) is useful when keeping track of the price of
a list of items over time. It can't seem to be done with the New Wanted List
(BL_New_View.jpg) view.
If the above 2 functions can be incorporated into the New wanted list, that would
be really helpful to us transiting into it. If not, then I'd strongly urge
your team to consider keeping the classic wanted list as many people depend daily
on it and there are functions that it can perform that the new version can't.
Thank you for your time and kind assistance!
Warm Regards,
Gordon

| Hello Jaclyn,
about a year ago brinklink killed my main workflow. I've send you my complaints
and you reativated the old wanted list so I could somehow come allong (see below).
The situation did not change and you are going the same way again.
Let me tell you that I'm amazed about how you ignore your users feedback.
I don't understand why you did not start a conversion with me to find out
my needs. I feel such a lack of respect that I consider croudfunding an alternative!
It looks to me that you designed the wanted list for building models according
to part lists.
My use of the wanted list has always been this:
- I build MOCs and I know which parts in which colors I use. I am looking for
good offers.
So I look thru the old wanted list, find a good offer, go to the shop, select
the items on my wanted list and decide whether I buy on the amount of usefull
parts for good prices.
This is by the way what you destroyed too last year: I always have to scan all
wanted list items instead of only that with the right price.
I wish you start going for satisfying your users needs instead of just keeping
your maintenance cost low by dropping partly duplicated content.
Best regards
Torsten

classic view. One thing I have noticed however is the "Auto-Finder" feature does
not always work as it should.
Last week I was ordering from a list and selected the "By Fewest Stores" option,
and it gave me 5 stores for a total of around $95. I deselected all stores and
seconds later selected the "By Best Value" option. This gave me 4 stores for
a total of $85... I realize stores have changing stock all the time, however
I really don't think that a few second things would have changed the auto
finder results that much.

| Hi.
I have to say I will be disappointed. The new Wanted List seems overly complex
and 'busy', whilst the old Wanted List was clear and simple.
I will be sad to see it go. Possibly a rethink on that decision?

Since BrickLink's Wanted List is a core feature for most users, we currently
provide the classic version for members to use as a backup in case there are

The classic version of the Wanted List feature will become unavailable on

Hello Jaclyn,
I'm really struggling with the functionality of the new wanted lists. It
just doesn't work. The most frustrating part is when I click on a part in
classic I can see all the sellers with that part and the price. Now all I see
is the minimum buy and have to click on each seller to see the cost (annoying).
I'm choosey about which international locations I purchase my items from
and don't like the fact the information required to allow me to make these
decisions has been removed and i'm now reliant on a robot to decide that
for me if I don't want to write everything down.
Ever heard of the phase "if it ain't broke don't fix it"
At least include all the base functions and information of classic if you do
intend to make this Frankensteins monster breathe life!!!
Thank you

If you click on a part (’s ID, nothing else works) in the (new) Wanted List,
you’re sent to the part’s page.
Unless you’re talking about the “Buy” page.
If you want to see the stores that have your parts, you need to click “More options”
link between the search box and the completeness-percentage in your Wanted List
page (the one showing your items before you click “Buy”). Then you click on “Show”
on the top right corner, just under “Items for Sale.” Don’t forget to click “Apply.”

The information is still there. Use the proper filters, either in the Wanted
List “more” options or the “Buy” settings.
You don’t have to use “Buy.” And if you use “Buy,” you don’t have to use the
“Auto Finder”: you can use it as “Ye Olde By Shoppe” with a bit more options
to edit and prioritize wanted lots.
You just need to read the meager help there is and experiment a lot with the
UI.

I addressed it to Admin. Your name is not Admin so there's really no confusion.
Sorry you feel yelled at. It was a message not directed at you. Has nothing to

I was just explaining, not complaining.
The “It’s unacceptable! You should fix it!” quote (you know, the little
signs around the text?) was what I got on the other forum: they thought I was
a developper making excuses for the bug. It was not directed at you.
I just didn’t want there to be another mistake. ’s all.
Goodday.

| I really wish you would keep the classic wanted list function. As a long time
user, the classic functions better.
I can look up a minifigure, lone ranger category, cavalry trooper and select
one of the three figures. I can then see all the stores that have that figure
cost, quantity, location and sort by several functions.
The newer version of the want list does not have that functionality.
Please reconsider

Yes it does.
Open a WL, click “More Options.” Click “Show” on the right under “Items for Sale.”
Don’t forget to change the sorting key below (stupidly defaults to Store Names).
And click “Apply.”

| I can’t use the new wanted list; it’s too complicated and some features, like
buy wizard, just don’t work and cause my browser to hang. And I can’t find many
features like finding a list of stores that have a certain item on my wanted
list sorted by price of this item in each store. The “wizard” forces me to sort
by unimportant criteria like store min buy when it should allow me to sort by
price which is more important when making a buy decision.
I don’t know why you “have to” remove the classic wanted list, but we’re familiar
with it and we use it to easily buy stuff from Bricklink. You shouldn’t remove
a feature that works and force one that doesn’t work on us, this will cause some
of us who can’t use the new “wizard” to leave only because we can’t use it or
it’s still full of bugs and don’t work on some browsers.
Please keep the classic features because we know them and they work just fine.
Please don’t make Bricklink difficult for us to use; new is not always better.

| Please keep the classic wanted list with all of his features!
Since the new wanted list came out i looked into it and it tourned out impractical..
So i worked with classic version because its better for me and i think also for
others
I dont understand why the classic variant must be removed! Bricklink worked since
the new wanted list came out with classic version parallel without any problem
for me
So please keep the classic wanted list. Buying bricks without classic version
will cost a lot more time and will be frustrating

Hi Jaclyn,
You state that you have ensured that the new version has all of the desired functionality
of the old version. This is untrue. I want to see the prices listed when I look
at my wanted lists. Furthermore I noticed that now if you try to use the buy
wizard and you select the store that has the most items from your wanted list
that the green and red arrows are now gone so the newer buyers not knowing how
to research if they are getting screwed on pricing will put in their orders not
realizing this. Buy wizard still does not save your search settings and I have
to adjust them every time so that only U.S. sellers pop up (no offense to our
friends overseas and abroad) which is HIGHLY ANNOYING.
Lastly the most underhanded and unethical adjustment to come along to the new
version of the wanted list is something called "Easy Buy" which should more appropriately
be called "Sucker Buy". Not only does it not show the prices of the parts you
are buying but it also brings up stores on my least favored list! I have some
stores on that list that charge outrageous prices for their elements.
This reaffirms my belief that changes companies make are almost always greed
based yet they veil these changes under the premise that it's "better for
the customer"
On a positive note it is WAY easier to add items to wanted lists now.
Regards,
Dave

But you can:
Open a WL | More Options (between the search box and the percentage) | Items
for Sale Options | Show
Then Apply.
Beware of the default sort: by store name.
(I’m starting to get tired.
Admin, that this has to be explained again and again and again should be a big
clue that, besides the fact that no-one ever reads the explanations, there’s
a UI problem with those settings.)

Feature removed. Lots of complaints here. Some (sellers mainly) say hurrah. Will
remain removed.
(I suspect it was also totally bugged.)

Thank you for your help with this again. It is a UI issue... I went to More Options
but then my eyes were immediately drawn to the "Sort By" which is by the list
of items as opposed to adjusting the list using the drop down "Sort stores by"
so after a couple of attemps I got it to look like something I can use. It has
also kept my settings so that's a good thing.

of adding a part. I love the classic version and will continue to use it as long
it is available. Don't see why we can't have both or why the new one
exists in the first place. If it ain't broke don't break it.

| Please Please Please leave up the old version! I use it all the time and the
new version is nowhere near as useful. It doesn't even work at all! I have
tried to figure out why but I have no idea and I can't imagine other people
who are new to the site would be having an easier time using it either.
I have a suggestion. BrickLink should have all of the users vote on what they
think should be done. It's just my opinion, but I think you guys would be
surprised to see how many people really don't like the new version and want
to stick with the classic version.

| I'll pile on, as well...
We appreciate all of the hard work on the new design, but there is certain functionality
that is lacking, or at least less obvious. I always start with the new design,
but find myself going back to the Classic view every time.
Quick example: in the Classic view, if I added part #61190d to my WL, and wanted
to change it to 61190e (or change from one color to another), I could do that
easily by editing the record itself. In the new version, I don't see a way
other than to add the new item and remove the old. Is it that a big deal? No,
but it's indicative.
Please keep the classic view!

| Hi Admin/Jaclyn,
Let me first start by saying I am an award winning web designer. I have over
160 awards for various websites created for multi-million dollar companies, and
mom & pop stores over a career spanning more than 25 years in website design.
I'm not saying this to "big myself up", I'm saying that so you understand
that I know what I'm talking about.
I have taken literally thousands of websites through major design and functionality
changes as you have done here. In all that time I have learned one over-riding
thing:
Just because it works for you, does not mean it works for your users
When you redesign a website, you should never, ever do it for yourself. You
only ever redesign a website to make it better for your users. There have been
countless threads on here about the badly designed v2.0 site and you really need
to take a step back and look at them.
I freely admit there are a handful of users praising the newer design, but again,
you never redesign a site to cater for new users, you do it to cater to your
core userbase. Those core users have unequivocally told you there are fundamental
things wrong with the new wanted list and other features, so just blindly turning
off the current "classic" - aka working - version is extremely shortsighted of
you.
Many, many people are requesting you leave the classic version online for them
to use if they so desire (and I'm inclined to agree with them). There is
no valid business reason to delete that code and it would not cost you any extra
to keep it online.
As a web designer and host, I know it will not cost you any extra money to host
the - at most - 4 extra pages which make up the classic wanted list so I see
no harm in keeping those pages alive if your users wish to use them - and they
definitely do.
I know you are proud of the new design and functionality, I would be too. But
please listen to your core users. I have redesigned many sites and made them
look absolutely fantastic and also been incredibly proud of the new designs I
have come up with, but users have hated some of them. It's a bitter pill
to swallow when people don't like your hard work - and I know how long it
takes to design and programme a website like Bricklink. You need to understand
that criticism is not a bad thing. It should be used constructively to build
a site core users and new users alike love to use. If that means a mix of old
and new features, so be it.
We know that ultimately the decision is in your hands, but we hope you can see
that the need to cater for core users is in your best interests.
All the best
Ian

Since BrickLink's Wanted List is a core feature for most users, we currently

The classic version of the Wanted List feature will become unavailable on

| It seems like the "Improvements" you are planning aren't very popular with
your user base...
I, for one, find your new, improved version of the site 10x more difficult to
use than the old one - why don't you just leave it alone ?
It ain't broke - don't fix it...
And if you insist on shoving YOUR version down everyone's throats, why not
also just leave the Classic versions and let us CHOOSE ?????

Whilst we agree with you about the classic v new look we also see problems leaving
it. People always want change whether it is broken or not. If classic is left
how long before people are clamouring for changes to that which means two code
bases to deal with and double the issues. Even today the changes made to the
order detail pages have created bugs in the classic look (which, coincidently
remain unfixed). There isn't really a simple straightforward resolution to
this issue. We, like you and many others would vote for the classic look - there
are some who will vote for the new look. The best option would be a balance between
the two - but we do not head up development for BL.
As the head of a professional development company in the UK for far too many
years to recall the site needs a re-think, that much everyone agrees with - (IOO)
but that is unlikely to happen.
Not everyone went to BO when it was launched or even today and it has a newer
fresher look than BL, It has also had autocheckout working (in a fashion) since
its inception but still not everyone left here for there. So it isn't totally
about the software - it is more about the presence rather than the look.
Yesterday we got a message from a newish buyer that we had gone the extra mile
for that once he figured out how to leave feedback he would give us a thumbs
up - nice of him - but giving feedback is really quite simple and straightforward.
You click on the Post link at the end of the order line and get on with it. These
simple little functions/features need much better documenting. Adding a batch
to an existing order. The number of times we get asked to add to an order and
have to explain stores cannot do that, but here is how you can do it - is beyond
recollection.
The catalogue needs improvement- the sellers need the right tools to do their
job for the buyers and a level playing field, where possible. The Award winning
web developer who commented on here has obviously won plaudits for their work
as I am sure the BL development team has - in their own arena. Bricklink, however
is different - yes it is a marketplace but its catalogue is unique and invaluable
- as a reference guide it is better than Lego's public face. Their stores
cannot tell you which sets contain which pieces nor do they differentiate between
mould changes (and sometimes that is vital to a build) - all of that is here
not elsewhere and that is what helps to give this site its enormous presence
in the Lego marketplace. Market leaders they certainly are and quite possibly
always will be but when you do not listen to your 'customers' beware
strange things can happen.
Enough for tonight - Hope you all had a great Independence day.
An Ex-pat in the UK

Problem is here that the old version works and the new version does not! Don't
you see, it doesn't matter about looking new as much as it matters that it
is functioning correctly. At the end of that day are people coming to BL to
be dazzled by flashy new websites or to buy Legos?

| Im not sure who you have had testing the new design but there are so many flaws.
Things I cannot seem to do
1.Change quantity of a part
2.Edit color of a part
3.Get error messages if the same item is on the list twice, they should be automatically
combined
4.Cannot edit the have list either.
I switch back to the old wanted list just to edit things

| Before removing the classic BL, you have to fix one thing.
In classic, when I add a brick to a WL which already contains the brick, it will
sum the two. In New WL, there is an error! Its hopeless to use!!

| Hi everyone. I still cannot instruct the system via the new Wanted List version
to notify me by email about the new sets coming on BL. In 3 different browsers,

Yes, you’re holding it wrong
Showing the stores for each part is an option: click on “More Options” near the
“Search Wanted List” field, then right column “Items for Sale Options,” “Item
for Sale”|“Show.”
Then, don’t forget to “Apply.”
And beware the default sorting on Store Name (duh!).

In the Wanted List upgrade I have selected (under "More Options") to show Items

| Seriously, please don't chuck the original wanted list in the bin. Too many
people rely on being able to use it. The reasons are clear - it works better
as it's simpler to understand and people are used to it. There is no reason
to delete it. The new one is terribly modern looking but actually behaves like
a pig. The old one was simple and did what it is supposed to, ever time. We rely
on this to run our stores. Please listen.

Depends.
If you put it from the item’s page, there are fields in the dialog.
If you want to change / add something when looking at or searching in your WLs,
you just click on the field you want to change and the WL goes in edit mode.
You go out of edit mode by clicking the “Save Changes” button that appeared
in the blue line at the bottom of the screen or by hitting the Enter key.
Or you can do batch changes with the leftmost checkboxes and the menu just above
the header (move, copy, apply colour, condition…).
| How can I see what the lowest prices for a piece in a list?
|
Use the price guide.
Or you can show a few stores for each item if you click “More Options” (near
the “Search Wanted List” field) and then click “Show” in the rightmost column.
Don’t forget to change the sort option (stupidly defaults to store name) and
to click “Apply.”

The problem is this change was never needed. The old lists worked fine. We
all have tried to use the new list. We don't have time to take a course
on how to use a wanted list. It should be something simple. Remember, if we
cannot figure it out, imagine what it must be like for newcomers?
Thankfully the new list hasn't been removed. Let's keep it that way........please.......

it is capable of. At least we know what the wanted list can do. They
don't and what it's really doing is costing all of us sales.
*Thanks for the grammar correction*

| Dear Admins,
I want to share one of my first experiences as a new bricklink member I had to
suffer. There is no response on my complaint (there is no even proper category
for this) so I'm desperate to seek justice.
I was searching for set 60051 and I found a great deal as you can see in the
first image.
I wanted to buy one, but seeing the price I decided to go for both. Unfortunately
shop size policy stopped me from ordering so I contacted the seller (I've
seen replicas on eBay, and that time I was not sure if they can be sold here):

Hello,
I am interested in your High Speed trains. They are real LEGO, aren't they?
If
so, I am thinking to buy both of them, but the shipping cost can be an issue.
I wonder how much it is to 4400 Nyiregyhaza Hungary? I also wonder if it would
be better to take the sealed small packages our ofthe paper box and re-package
them? I don't need the box nor the instructions, if you find it reasonable
I'm
more than happy to leave them with you in exchange for this favor.
What do you say?
Cheers:
Tamas"
The response was that he raised the price but no reply. I am sad to see he managed
to sell one in the meantime...
I submitted a complaint but no response there. I am both upset and angry there
is no way this is allowed on any selling site...
Many thanks:
Tamas

A seller is allowed to change their prices whenever they like before an order
is placed. You contacting them probably alerted them to see that their price
was rather low. Is what they did ethical? No. Is it allowed? Yes.
Their new price is still quite cheap anyway - they are still cheapest in Europe
for new by about 5 Euro. You can now decide to buy from them or buy from someone
else.

| Also, it looks like the one they sold was at £60 not £70. So they could have
been alerted to their cheap price by the other person buying it.

| Nope, the price was 70 for 2 items (I did not do screenshot as I gave up buying)
so if he sold for 60 he is even worse...
I guess it is better to go back to ebay. You guys really don't have any boundaries...

| Congrats, you figured out how supply and demand in a free market works regarding
price levels.

It happened me twice, both after I send a quote since there is no shipping cost
table. If you don't commit to buy, seller may change the price or someone
else may buy it before you.

Sincerely,
Jaclyn

I hope you never remove the Classic Buy feature! Since the new one does not work
it is the only option for me to buy anything at all! In the new feature I see
no shops at all when I choose my wanted lists.
But I want to thank you for a super site!
Best Regards
Tobias Johansson

I don't like the New wanted list,
I prefer classic must more compact and easy to read, and reliable
after placing and order, I click the wanted list symbol, using classic I find
it a lot easier to remove the items I have just bought
when searching items in the new wanted list layout I find some items do not list
the stores underneath them,
