| Hi guys. Me again.
Just to be clear - what I am talking about here from the sellers perspective
is a functionaility to have one collectible minifigure listing in our inventories
appear in both the 'Sets' and 'Minifigs' search results.
I get that I can choose where I list my items and it's up to me if I want
to select Sets or Minifigs when I do this but my point is that having to make
that choice decreases the visibility of my listing and if I do create duplicate
listings to counter this problem then I run into potential inventory complications
and having to submit order change requests should a buyer buy from both categories.
I would submit that the 'Minifigs' category was never intended to be
used for collectible minifigures anyway and was always about listing individual
figures that have been split from sets.
The issue however is that we all know that as sellers - buy a buyer looking for
a collectible minifigure doesn't and is probably more likely to think that
the collectible minifigure they want will be listed under 'Minifgs' and
NOT 'Sets' so this is where they are going to start their search.
Anyway it's not easy to make oneself clear sometimes on email but hopefully
you now get it!!!
James.

The issue is that the "set" includes the accessories/weapons/etc. The "figure"
includes only the figure and not the accessories.
I would be okay if there was a message explaining the difference and returning
the result in either search.

| Hello.
The only point of this is to increase the visibility of collectible minifigures
in search results. That is all I am advocating. This is not about getting bogged
down in the semantics of what constitutes a 'set' and what constitutes
a 'minifig'. The distinction between that can always be clarified in
the item description anyway.
All I am suggestion is that irrespective of whether or not a buyer selects 'set'
or 'minifig' when searching for collectible minifigures that they are
are presented with the same search results which maximises the opportunity for
selling and for BL to make fees - which we should perhaps all remember (from
a business perspective) is what the whole point of the site is in the first place
and without which it wouldn't be able to function.
Online selling is all about visibility and all I am advocating is the increased
visibility of collectible minifigures in search results. I am not seeking to
change the distincition between what constitutes a set or a minifig.

No. The result is that you remove the difference between "set" and "minifigure".
That will only add confusion, not remove it.

The results are not the same. One includes bag, instructions and accessories,
the other does not.

You might not intend to, but when you list minifigures in the set category (or
reversed) that is the result.

So we’ll have both these next to each other?
How is that less confusing for buyers?
And we already have sellers who list the set (MF+accessories+plate+instructions)
as a MF. There’re also sellers who list lone MFs as incomplete sets.

| I vote no.
I think you are making too many assumptions about what a buyer may or may not
think. There may be equal probability that they will think the opposite of your
surmise.
I think the individual sellers can use existing bricklink functions (like comments
on the item) to educate buyers as to what they are buying.

| I voted no. Sets are different to mini figures. If the sets are linked onto the
mini figure categories, then this normalises the view that mini figures should
come with accessories. Not just for CMF, but also then for other mini figures.
Why didn't my Darth Vader come with a lightsaber, he is shown that way in
box art?
