| Please make changes to the following inventory:
* Change 1 Part Yellow {3626bp01 Minifig, Head Standard Grin Pattern - Blocked Open Stud to 3626ap01 Minifig, Head Standard Grin Pattern - Solid Stud}
Comments from Submitter:
All instructions that include this minifigure depict the solid stud version of this head. No evidence to suggest the blocked open stud version was ever used.

I wouldn't go by images too much and rather stick to 'owned sets'
before making such changes. Images are made months before actual release and
setlayouts are made from 'stock' items of the designers, but that doesn't
mean there can't be a differences 'in production'
I suggest you have a look here, to stick to the timeline in regards to head versions:
http://www.leggodt.nl/items/lego/themes-minifigs.php?language=en
And that timeline is pretty accurate when compared to actual setcontents
Cheers, Eric

Well, I provided the instructions as evidence because I thought my secondary
evidence wouldn't be legit enough for the catalog admin. Basically I have
a large lot of sets containing minifigs of this era, all the heads in the lot
are solid stud. The heads have never been replaced, they are original. So can
I personally verify this by opening a sealed set? No. But given the circumstances,
one can deduce that these minifigs originally came with solid stud heads.
Let's also consider that the inventory for this minifig was created by 'Admin'
in 2003 so I'm guessing they just used a similar resource to the one you
referred to, and did not verify from a sealed set.
So we have the instructions AND a collection of used sets with original parts
that appear to support my change request. I guess I could have said 'verified
from sealed sets' but I'm unclear if that means I or someone else just
unboxed the set 25 minutes ago or 25 years ago.
I think this is sufficient of an argument to make the change. I would be content
to add the solid stud head as an alternate item, but I can only figure out how
to do that for a set inventory, not a minifig inventory.
I have several other minifigs to update as well, just wanted to see how this
one went first.

You need to ask the Inv Admin to add a note to the inventory similar to what
was done here:
It is quite likely that later copies of this figure did have the blocked stud,
but at this time the catalog is not accepting different minifig entries based
on the type of head stud.
Alternates for minifig inventories are not technically possible, but they are
not a good idea anyway because they would scramble the year of release data on
the parts pages in the catalog.
