Even though both 7297 and 7476 are similar sets with an indentical sticker sheet, these stickered parts in the bricklink catalog are ONLY for the alternate 7476 version of this set. 7297 has the stickers placed differently.

Set 7476 is surely the "original" set as far as the stickers are concerned:
...since there are two "7476" stickers on the sheet. Only one of these stickers
is used in the 7297. It is used on the trailer, which could be considered to
be a separate vehicle and therefore could have its own ID number.
But you are right about the stickered wedges. The stickers switch sides of the
vehicle in the 7297, but due to the right/left nature of the wedges, the stickered
parts cannot be substituted for each other.
