| Not sure if this one has been suggested before or not but I think it would be
usefull to have the option of an indicator somewhere obvious in a store to show
buyers if the store owner is currently in the system or not. As a store owner
I could then state on my splash page that any questions could be answered in
"xx minutes" if the indicator shows I'm logged in and "XXX minutes" if I'm
not. I could also set an "expected back in office time" message.
If this could be customisable by store it would be great. Sometimes as a buyer
you just don't know if a store can be bothered to answer your questions or
is simply not there. I know there is a last logged in feature but a) that is
only available to parties who have already transacted and b) it does not tell
you if the seller is still logged in or not.

+1!
Great idea! Or even better: A live chat function in your store which you can
enable so you can help your customer real time.

How do you define logged in? I often leave a browser window open so I'm logged
in, even if not active. Would there be some timer to say when the seller was
last active on the site, or are you expected to logoff if you are inactive?

Same here. I could be away from my computer for hours and someone could think
I was ignoring them even though I wasn't really there.

I do that too, I guess it would encourage a discipline of logging out if away
from the computer for any significant time. The idea of a last active timer is
a good one too.

I am often logged in and not at my computer. I too would not want a customer
to think I was ignoring them.

Sounds like a good idea as long as there is some customization to it. Some have
expressed concerns with being logged in and inactive. I think having options
showing last time seller was active on BL would be nice. A chat option would
be great too, but I don't know how much of an overhaul that would require
as that feature was taken out for security concerns (perhaps?).
Additionally, it would also be useful for sellers to know if someone is currently
in the store or not at any moment, as sometimes it would be nice to do some inventory/pricing
work without disrupting buyer's shopping experience.
