| I don't know if this is already available but when I look at an inventory,
I'd like to see which parts are unique to that set. For example, UCS Falcon
(since it's everyone's favourite set to reference) has boat mast riggings
in LBG and they only appear in that set. It would be helpful when trying to part
together a set to know which pieces will be harder to find.

I agree with the suggestion.
However, that part is only a temporary unique part.
It appears in some Serious Play set that has never been inventoried.

Proof?

[s-2000413-1]
I think some people bought the set and were disappointed (since the riggings
would practically have covered the set's several-hundred-dollar price). That
set has had that picture for years -- Dacta has never been terribly concerned
with the accuracy of their product images.

No, the one people bought was
Which originally had the image from the older version, which has that part:

But it still was part of that set.
Type in any old set and it shows lots of pieces that are no longer available.

Yes, it was probably part of that set in 2010 upon first release, but I am sure
that piece was unavailable shortly thereafter and never produced again.

Great suggestion. I wonder why Lego hasn't rereleased that part in that color
since 2007. Surely they could use it in other sets. They have done that with
the dark blue arch from The Street Market modular and they even mentioned it
in their Designer video. I guess, ultimately it adds to the cost of the set if
they have to initiate a special production run just for AFOLs sake, which would
cut into their profits. If they can justify multiple sets to use that piece in
that color, then the cost would get spread among multiple sets, but that piece
is a bit more specialized. Hopefully they bring back the UCS MF. It still lives
on in the episode VII movie as is shown toward the end of the teaser trailer.

I find most of the 'rumour' around a re-release is more about desperation
of wanting something, but not wanting the bill for it (despite the fact that
most people that want it are people that are perfectly fine accepting huge mark
ups for their own sets)
From a "LEGO" perspective, I don't know if they would call that set successful
or not. I think most people thought it was too expensive (especially since the
Taj Mahal had more pieces, but cost $200 less)
It had "only" a two year run, unlike the Death Star who has a Hogwarts Age spell
on it.
Now, would another sell well now, sure because people would buy it thinking it
will repeat the same trend after market and because of that, it would have no
chance.
I also think it's bad for Lego to re-release exact copies because what they
are re-enforcing is "there's no rush to buy it now, we'll make another
one later"
If they announced in January that they are having double VIP point in April,
I'm sure their sales would be reduced greatly until that point.
That's why there's a shorter window on something like that.

I know what you are saying. I am not that desperate to have one. Even if it did
come out, I have no idea where I'd put it. Afterall, I tend to prefer smaller
creations and build them myself. I am content either way. I totally get the reasoning
why they would not come out with another exact copy. I am sure they are less
concerned about the AFOL community and more about the majority of their market,
which is parents buying set for children. They would much rather not have to
hear from a bunch of angry parents why they can't get Elsa's palace for
their child than some small AFOL fan base, relatively speaking, of course.
