I am posting a couple of images that show some of the greatest differences. The
new version has (among other things) an improved roof/side assembly on the trailer
to keep the large red tiles more firmly in place.
Unfortunately, the differences are so significant I question whether it would
be practical to try to reflect both versions. And since it doesn't make sense
to only have one lot from the newer version without the rest, I have approved
Jauffray's request to delete these pieces.
If someone would like to take this inventory on as a project, build the set both
ways, and tally the differences, we could perhaps find a workable solution. But
until then, a footnote will have to suffice.

I just figured it out myself, there are 2 versions of this set. The inventory
available now on Bricklink is for the older version, you can find Inventory for
the newer version on this internet adress "http://brickset.com/inventories/8654-1".
The newer set comes with 2 building instructions the old one with just one. I
had the both sets and now I am realising the differences. You can check also
the differences when you look on the both inventories.

| Hello
i am trying to buid the with new version of set 8654.
Set 8654 scuderia ferrari
I have the second version of this set . The first version has got 2 red suitcases
and a yellow one, plus instructions in one book. My version has got 3 black suitcases
and instructions consists in 2 books. These 2 versions have got some differences,
integrated in the « alternate parts » of BL. But page 57 step 4 of the first
book 1, i need 6 black plates 2x10 ref 3832 that are not listed in the alternate
parts. I also need one red Brick, Modified 1 x 4 with 4 Studs on 1 side ref 30414
more (17 instead of 16), and 3 black bricks modified 2 x 4 x 2 with Studs on
Sides ref 2434 on step 6 page 58 of the same book (the following page). I also
need 4 red technic bricks 1x8 with holes ref 3702 instead of 2 on steps 7 and
8 pages 58 and 59 (still in book 1). These are also not listed in the alternate
parts. Both sets seems to have significant differences even if they share the
same set number.
I haven't checked the end of the instructions, because to realize it entirely,
it is necessary to dismount a part of the truck, and associate the parts that
compose it with the remaining pieces, in order to build a podium. As I found
this set in the middle of a stock of lego parts bought in a garage sale, it is
impossible for now to dismantle the truck, and finish the instructions, my children
are too eager to play with...
I was happy to find a link in this tread
"http://brickset.com/inventories/8654-1" to find the inventory for the newer
version. But it seems to not work anymore. Somebody has got a new link ? Thank
you !
