I want to suggest that you can only favorite a store by having placed an order

How is that a weapon?... It's just a tool for buyers to quickly mark/flag
sellers, it beats having to track everything down with a notepad.

And how am I supposed to know how many of those favorites are from buyers?
|
Since anyone can buy, technically they are all from buyers.
But, are you trying to determine if your store's least favourite list is
from past buyers?
I have a number of stores listed as a least favourite for various reasons.
I do not support someone taking that tool away from me because I haven't
placed an order.
Now, I have a number of store that I have done business with that I put on a
least favourite list.
One because they refuse to ship in an envelope and thus I have to ship parcel.
I don't want to order from them again so I'd rather not see their listings.
I've bought from two stores AFTER putting them on a least favourite list.
And I've put stores on that I have never dealt with.
Excessive packing costs, hides (or doesn't try to hide) paypal and bricklink
fees.
People that force me to take insurance regardless of the value of the package
as well as some stores that charge for paypal.
I have 7 people that have least favourited me and while I have no idea who they
are, I don't really need to know.
There are 1000's of buyers out there for me and only 7 non buyers.

work (I thought I saw it somewhere, but I could be wrong)

I wasn't around for this but apparently people used to be able to see the
reason why and if that came out again people just wouldn't use it.
I am going to go out on a limb and say most or all of my least favourite are
not past customers.
They are probably people that don't like the way I say things, don't
want to see my listings and (because I've heard it before), have an issue
with my user ID.
For you, I'm sure if you went from 2 to 10 (for example) in the last few
days it's directly because of your post on cancelling.
The amount of time you dedicated to that thread was enormous and because you
said it was about a single part, I'm guessing people thought "holy crap,
I am not buying from that guy".
And you probably can't undo that.
Your position seemed clear. You only want people that read and obey the terms.
That's your right but you need to own the consequences.
When I download an app and I see 19 pages of liabilities and disclaimers I click
accept and go on my merry way.
I am not dedicating 30 minutes to find out that if my phone crashes it's
not their fault.

Went from 6 to 18. A post I made last month took me from 1 to 7, but someone
removed a least-favorite. This isn't 20 pages, it's just a few sentences.

At the least/most favorities pages people can write a personal note: http://www.bricklink.com/pref_favorite.asp.
Or personal notes about members or about their stores: http://www.bricklink.com/memberNotes.asp
They're personal and invisible to another member.
