| Hello members,
normally all unpaid and processing orders gets updated automatically.
Often customers want to have several orders due to customs thresholds they want
to stay below.
There should be a choice of whether you want to update your old order or not
with the new submission. Then more orders can be created without the seller having
to set it paid or packed before the customer can submit a new order.
This would really help a lot and makes sence.
kind regards,
Stefan

Setting the ordersstatus to packed works fine.
If a buyer can decide when it's an addition some stores wouldn't be happy.
Additions make an order more valuable and reaching a customslimit sooner.
A choice to add to an open order wouldn't solve that.
Having multiple lower value orders will go through customs without problem.

I would also find this useful on occasion but I would not want any customer to
be able to just place multiple orders without my input. I'd like the facility
to require approval up front per customer by the seller otherwise, yes.

...which is an illegal process to avoid customs/tax charges - so the seller should
be the one to decide whether this is accepted in a particular case or not.

Not without seller approval. This works fine already, by sellers setting the
order status to packed: http://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=41&q=status
| Then more orders can be created without the seller having

This is true, but I doubt that many sellers are willing to let buyers decide
about it.
I do not want to allow buyers place several orders (and send several payments
for several invoices later on) in my store - consolidated order processing and
shipping is first choice, everything else needs to be discussed.

Why not?
It is just another order, why does it matter if it is from the same person who
has a previous order, or not? The same minimums and fees would apply to each
individual order. So on the seller end, it is not much different than multiple
orders from multiple people.
I think the seller OR the buyer should be able to determine if an order can be
added to or not.
Some sellers get irritated when a buyer keeps adding to an existing order, while
they are trying to get it processed (these would likely be the sellers who want
to pack and weigh before invoicing).
Other sellers welcome additions. Often these are the sellers who invoice and
get paid before packing the order.
Sellers do NOT use the process, of setting the order to packed, to allow the
user to start a new order.
I once had a seller very irritated at me, because I would add to the order.
I wondered why they did not just set it to a status that could not be added to.
Likely they did not want to set it to "packed" until it was "packed".
Now I tend to ask, if it is set to "processing". I just add to it if it is still
in "pending".
If I have to stop and ask, that means someone else might buy the parts while
I am waiting for a response.
So making this more flexible for both seller and buyer, would be of value.
