| some sellers charge handling fees (in addition to shipping), or shipping minimums.
currently, buyers don't find this out till after they've set their whole order
(sometimes dozens of items). its a bit of a gotcha.
it would be helpful if there were a way for sellers to post any handling fees
or shipping minimums upfront on their page, before we make the order... as it
is now is for minimum orders.

if they are not stated in the store terms then they shouldn;t be charging it
this is solved by reading a stores terms when you first get there

there are people who read 'terms and conditions' on the internet?
minimum order is not buried in 'terms'.
minimum shipping or 'handling fees' should not be, either.
min order appears with the listings when you search, so you know the essentials
before you even take the time to go to the page. any other mins or fees should
be there too.
its part of the price. we should know the price. upfront.

These aren't the typical lawyer T&C associated with software, which number hundreds
of pages. It's several paragraphs displayed and agreed upon during Checkout.

Yes, they should. The "Terms and Conditions" are explicitly displayed at checkout
and the buyer *should* read them at that time as that is what they are agreeing
to when they submit an order.

A minimum order is the same for all stores. You will find a number of mins or
fees that vary across BrickLink. Perhaps you would care to explain how the following
could all be shown clearly and succinctly in the listings?
Minimum S&H of $3.00
S&H is postage plus $1.00
Orders with average lot value less than $1 will be subject to $1.00 handling
fee
No handling fee for orders over $25. Orders under $25 subject to $1.00 handling
fee
Additional fee of $1.50 if paying by PayPal
No fees for bank transfer payments
etc.
etc.
etc.
|

You'll learn to quickly browse to the stores T&C page where you can learn this
upfront. If you don't like what you see, add the store to your least favorite
and move on. Easy.

If I'm going to commit to spending my own hard earned money, I ALWAYS read the
terms and conditions, BEFORE I browse the store.

There is some potential benefit to what you suggest.
But... you need to spend more time learning how the system currently works before
you can reasonably come up with ways to improve it.
