| I know I (and others) suggested it before, but I really want a feature where
I can just click a link at root of discussion tree and it disappears for me.
I don't care about some discussions.
Yes, this is a reaction to foster's thread being err whats it called again? by
other person.

Yes, thank you. I have made this suggestion in the past - i.e. an option to ignore
threads. But your tweak to ignore parts of a thread that spin off into unproductive
tangents is a nice improvement.

Did you intend the tweak? In light of this comment, I'm not sure if you are
suggesting:
1. Hide an entire thread and all replies from you
2. Hide a branch of a thread from you
3. A mechanism whereby you click the icon in the thread tree to either make 1
or 2 happen.
I'm all for anything simple to provide this functionality at a basic level.
(Then we can proceed with the suggestions to improve it. )

Yes, thank you. I have made this suggestion in the past - i.e. an option to ignore
threads. But your tweak to ignore parts of a thread that spin off into unproductive

Actaully #2 applies to both #1 and #2. If I click it on the root, entire tree
goes away. If I click it on some subnode, that branch disappears.

| I'd like to modify Rolf's suggestion. I believe it's called "collapse tree".
I think it can be done in Javascript as I've seen it on other sites. It would
be a nice feature to have (or even added to the default options).

I hope this suggestion is implemented now that I see others being done. I
wish to be able to ignore any discussion post and all replies after it! Say if
there is large discussion and one reply had become argumentative, I would click
ignore on beginning of that argument and rest would disappear.
