Sorry for the duplicate post. I forgot to put the first one under suggestions

I would like to be able to see a reminder appear when a someone has left feedback
for me. Right now I have my feedback settings to prompt me when someone has marked
an order as complete and I need to leave feedback, but alot of my buyers do not
mark it as completed or even received before they leave feedback. This makes
it alot more difficult for me to be sure that I've left feedback for everyone
that has left feedback for me.

Another possiblity would be to be able to click on your own feedback score, and
scroll down and see every feedback you've received and see if you've left feedback
in return. I know I can do this on my orders page, but if someone leaves feedback
say two months after a sale, I'm not neccessarily going to catch it.
Thanks for listening,
Katie

In a buy and sell transaction, isn't the sell transaction complete after you
get payment?
Why don't you just leave feedback when you get the payment?

I just think that it encourages more buyers to leave feedback. Also, if there
are any problems with the order it gives them a reason to try and work things
out before just leaving a neutral or negative without even contacting the seller.
Just works best for me I guess.

In a face to face transaction where money and merchandise are simultaneously
exchanged - yes (in most cases). But not when you mail items and have continuing
obligations to amicably work with one another if any problems arise. IMO, if
either party has any continuing obligations after shipment, or if either party
can do things after payment and shipment which impact the other party, the transaction
is not yet complete.

Why don't you just leave feedback when you get the payment?

Because the transaction is not yet complete. And because feedback should assess
the ENTIRE transaction and not just part of it.

But what about the fb you recieve? Is that a part of the entire transaction?

A seller recently shipped me some wrong parts even though I had begged
them to check up front. The seller apologized and refunded the parts.
Order completed. Time to leave fb.

I was in a neutral-fb-mood as I still had waisted my time and lost money
on shipping - and most important: They failed to check the parts. But the
seller had already left me +fb. So I evaluated the entire transaction and
let the sellers fb influence mine. I decided not to leave any fb at all.

I explained this to the seller after witch they removed their +fb. So they
let my (missing) fb influence theirs.

But hey! Based on the entire transaction I would now be inclined to leave
a neutral (I did not) , and the seller would then ...

Feedback is voluntary, you don't have to explain why you don't leave any.

I think you answered your own question. From your post, it seems to me that
your overall assessment of this transaction was influenced by your seller's unexplained
removal of their own feedback for you. So yes, I think the feedback you receive
CAN be part of the transaction and influence your feelings about the transaction.
This does not mean I advocate retaliatory feedback. Not at all. Only that feedback
you receive which you honestly feel to be unjust or undeserved can properly influence
how you feel about the overall transaction and the feedback you leave.

The BrickLink Help Desk:

http://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=248

states that: "Feedback is the way you let other members know how you feel about
your dealings with a particular member." If a buyer becomes difficult, demanding,
unreasonable, rude, profane, etc., or takes back their payment AFTER the seller
has shipped their order, those post-payment events can properly influence how
that seller "feels" about his or her dealings with that buyer. Likewise, if the
buyer leaves unjust, insulting or undeserved negative feedback, that can also
infect the overall transaction and affect how the seller honestly feels about
his or her dealings with such buyer.

Some have argued that leaving feedback right after payment is better because
it shows that such sellers "trust" their buyers more. However, if such sellers
really trusted their buyers, they would not wait to be paid before leaving feedback.

In short, members can leave feedback whenever they want, and post-payment events
can justifiably influence feedback. Whether you leave feedback right after getting
paid or after making sure the order was received and acceptable to the buyer,
the important thing is that you leave honest feedback. BrickLink says that both
ways are fine. Neither is better or worse than the other. Both have their advantages
and disadvantages. Choosing one method does not make you better or worse than
someone who chooses the other method.

BTW, I am neutral on this suggestion. I don't see any need myself for feedback
reminders as it is already fairly easy for me to know who I need to leave feedback
for.
