| I would like my shop to automatically close after X number of sales.
Being busy at my real job has my store closed for a while now
But I do like to sell and the contact that comes with it
At the moment, I just can't handle being open all the time, so I close after
being open for a while.
Then when I re-open, I get flouded with orders and quickly have to shut down
again....
I can handle about 5 to 10 orders a week in my current working position.
So if my store could automatically close after x number of orders, that would
help me and maybe others too?
Thanks,
Maxx

That's a very interesting idea, and I can see how many members could benefit
from something like this - as I know in the past this would have helped me a
lot when I actually had a "real job". LOL
Best,

Ah, but you read it wrong, it would allow me to be open MORE.
So I suggest you rethink your vote
Maxx
P.s. thanks for the vote

Raise prices until you get the desired #orders...

Sounds like you have a luxery problem
Maybe your suggestion needs to be tweeked a bit.
Would you still want to be closed if you'll receive only X 1-part orders?
If you can't handle, please direct them to my store.

| Have you considered pricing stuff higher, finding the price that best brings
in the desired amount of orders.

Yes, I have tried several things, but I don't want to overprice items or set
high minimums (like I have now).
I still wish to sell normal, but not be flooded with orders I can't handle in
a "normal" time frame.
My goal is to give service to all orders, but at the moment I can't.
So it's either close and NOT sell.
Or open, be flooded and having to close to catch up with orders that take forever
to work through and I'm not able to give the service I wish to give my buyers....
So this is a real tool I would use and I hope others too

I like the idea as suggested, so it's a yes from me.
Better still though, if total number of lots in pending orders could be used
as the basis, this would give more precise control than simply using x number
sales orders.

Let the user choose order count, order value, or lot total.
Why not? If you're going to create a feature, make it versatile.

But you could always open again after an automatic close
And like you and others said, keep it simple.

I would like this option. My life has gone crazy the last few months, and as
a result I've sadly had to close my store. I went from working part time to working
full time (nights no less) and homeschooling 4 kids. And that's just the beginning
of the list of things that are going on right now. Of course I have no time for
the store, which is no fun since I truly love it.
I voted yes, but would actually like to see it implemented so that the seller
can also pick certain days to be open and cetain days to be closed. Right now
I'm thinking about being open Friday and Saturday, and using the weekend to process
orders. I could and would post a note that orders are only going to be processed
on weekends, but some people really don't pay attention, and get crabby if you
take forever with their order. A closed store would say it much better.

Same here, auto close after X orders could also be handled with this.
Only like you say, buyers need to read too....
Good luck,

YES! This would be very very helpful indeed! (I've been thinking of making the
same request)
After being closed for over a year while I moved & renovated the house, I opened
again in September & generated 67 orders.. in 3 days!!! I had to close up again...
then when I reopened for a couple weeks in October another 110 orders... yikes!
177 order in a less than 3 weeks is just impossible to keep up to. My day is
9-5 at the office followed by 7pm through 2am pulling & packing orders just to
keep up! it's crazy busy (& I'm now closed again)
Unfortunately, I want to provide the services I would want to receive and to
find enough of what I want in one place so that all the additional expenses of
shipping & money exchanges are worth it for me... so I try to keep as much a
varied inventory as possible.
I know I could take much of the inventory offline or boost up the prices but
neither of these is fair to the buyer & neither is why I'm here... fun, good
parts at a good price & lotsa stuff I need & possibly some more I didn't think
I needed.
(I'm one of those who don't mind taking an hour to fill up a shopping cart if
there's lotsa candy in the candy store
Having automated downtime will also help avoid all those canceled orders as well,
I had 5 orders I had to cancel over the last 3 weeks just because they were too
big for me to handle & I've also had to put a maximum upper limit on orders too,
which is something I've never had to do before but right now at this moment I
have over $15,000 of goods in-transit - it's just too much risk for a little
guy like me!
