Here's my first suggestion, and I'd like it do do this, but if not, I'll just
put it somewhere on my splash page.

When, in someone's store, you click on (Show all) for minifigures, it would be
nice if something would say that the seller could ship them two different ways,
and they could choose which way, but would need to send the seller a message
stating the way the buyer would like it.

or, if you clicked on (Show all) for sets, if would notify you that the seller
could ship the box flat if you wanted to on the used sets with box, if you notified
the seller.

The seller could change the message in the box to go with what he or she would
want it to say.

At checkout you can enter a comment for the seller and/or (sometimes) choose
a shippingmethod.

But even then it is not allways possible...
Will you buy 3 or 33 figs, 3 might fit an envelope, 33 might involve a package(too
many for an envelope). What if you decide to buy 21 figs (16 used onces, 5 sealed
packages), would it fit an envelope or would it be a package after all? And where
would the seller need to ship to (national/international/overseas?). Hard to
manage.

I bought in stores that had automated shippingrates calculators. So far (as far
as I remember) none of the invoices matched the shippingmethod or the shippingrate
I choosed (Must say I sometimes buy 'hard to wrap' items and so credit to the
seller who prefers another method to make sure the parts arrive in undamaged
condition)...

Most of the time you need to review case by case (depending on what was ordered)...

That's what I mean.
As buyer I can suggest a shipping method even if it would be impossible to fit.
