Would it be possible to tweak the search results page to allow more searching
within the results? BrickLink already allows us to tweak those results by new/used,
location, min/max quantities, and to exclude superlots and incomplete sets. But
I was thinking more, such as being able to exlude more things and/or doing companion
searching for other parts available from sellers who also have the first part.

For example, run a search for 2x4 bricks (part number 3001) and you get 8100
lots. Let's say you are looking for bulk (new or used) in any color with a minimum
quantity of 100 from sellers in North America. That brings the number of lots
down to 272. But let's say you don't want any yellowed or worn parts, or yucky
lime colored bricks. It would be helpful to have the ability to EXCLUDE certain
lots from within these results - such as excluding lots with the word "yellowed"
in the comments or all lime colored bricks. Now let's say you also want to buy
2x2 and 2x3 bricks as well. It would be very helpful to search further within
the 2x4 results to find sellers who ALSO have 2x2 and 2x3 bricks in bulk.

Another example would be looking for bulk quantities of 2x4 bricks in white,
green and brown from the same seller without having to do separate searches or
dropping your search to create a wanted list.

I know some of this can be done by creating a wanted list. But I find making
wanted lists a bit cumbersome. It would be quicker and easier, and encourage
more spur-of-the moment searches and sales, if you could just tweak individual
search results to find exactly what you want without having to go outside of
those results to do something many members may not know how to do.

Suggestion is OK for me, just the exclude thing seems questionable. What if someone
write "absolutely not yellowed"?

That is a side effect of a search function to begin with. Excluding or including
terms, conditions, etc. is up to the end user. Knowing you will have false positive
hits or lose some hits is the risk you take when creating and subsequently limiting
your search. It all depends on how many hits you are willing to peruse through.
For most people, that isn't many.

Excellent suggestion. I purchase many parts to complete used and incomplete sets
that I buy, and it would be nice to do this sort of thing without the wanted
lists.
