This time, the order has a different shipping address, a different name, and
the buyer says it is a gift and I should not specify any price or add any invoice
or bill to the envelope.
I clearly sense a dropshipping case here.

Is it allowed on bricklink?

I believe it's allowed, one wishes that buyers would be a bit more honest
though.

But a nothing says a dropshipper couldn't order from bricklink. Besides there
are tons of different reasons to ship to a different address: a gift, item you
were short on, completing a transaction, trades how and shipping to hotel, business
partner, relative that doesn't like the internet, friend that doesn't
want the hassle to setup a bl account.

Yes, to be clear a BrickLink seller can't dropship since BL sellers can only
list what they actually have in inventory (maybe an exception can be made for
inventory mistakes, etc.). But there isn't anything stopping people from
listing on e.g., eBay, and then dropshipping from BL.

Yes exactly this ^

Bricklink doesn't want people selling what they don't have to hand here
because that can create a bad buyer experience. However it will be of little
concern to Bricklink if the buyer is shopping from another platform and the goods
are drop shipping from Bricklink

The only time we step in is if the dropshipper is a professional buyer and starts
giving sellers a hard time about orders that didn't go well. Otherwise, we
tolerate them - because a lot of our sellers appreciate the business.

  Hello everyone,

I thought it would be good to give people an update on the variant project. As
of now, everything we announced would change in this post:

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1454437

has been completed, EXCEPT the decorated minifigure heads and new Help pages.

Link for the overview:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2625

Scheduled completion date is still the end of May.

I didn't realize 32064b was on the chopping block.

Wasn't there that whole controversy with that guy who claimed to have used
it in a "moc on top of a stud so therefore it was useful" even though
it cannot fit on top of a stud

32064b could go on a hollow stud. I would have spoken up on it, but I didn't
realize it was on the block.

We definitely could have talked about it on the catalog panel if the catalog
panel had EVER been consulted about this.

The catalog panel was informed of this merge project months before it was announced
publicly. But the purpose of the panel is to bring community voice to the development
team, not contribute to catalog policy.

We do address catalog policy when it comes up, but it's definitely a sideline
issue, as are all issues that relate to other BrickLink teams, like Marketplace
and Studio. Panel meetings are not the place to debate proposed variant merges.
The Forum is, and there was plenty of debate and even opportunity for more debate.

There went a double handful of my catalog work and all the give-a-darn that I
had stockpiled. I think I'll go touch grass and see if it is everything
people talk it up to be.

We knew the hardest thing about this project was having to undo some work that
the community had done. The important thing moving forward, though, is that no
one is going to keep investing in that handful of variants that we removed. This
will also force us to consider more closely the addition of variants in the future,
to avoid this happening again.

And, like I said clearly before, we have a complete record of all modern inventory
change requests. They are all preserved in the Forum for those that want to see
what you discovered in your sealed sets. And the vast majority of your work is
still completely intact and helping other members, so let's not paint this
as a total loss.

It's been on the list since day one. The purpose was to remove distinctions
based on the shape of the axle hole.

32064c was renamed to 32064a and was retained.

Anyone know how long it takes to re-open? I have contacted the helpdesk but no

again!

Many thanks,

Thank you. I do consider this a lesson learned!

Would be nice to think that someone would look at it soon considering this is
a one off blip in a very good selling record over many many years! ... again
realise it is my fault

Very good selling record and some pretty significant catalog contributions too:

No, the public form cuts off at 150 characters. The full name is pasted into
the form, straight from the list of downloaded item names.

Once the project is done, we will check all item names for this cuttoff and repair
them. Between now and then, if you see issues, feel free to correct them.

Here are the remaining parts with names cut off - see the letters in red.

Finshed. Please let me know if you see others.

Yes, it is official. However, we limited the scope of communication to members
who had initially shown interest in the development of this feature.

Hello Admin Russell,

I have in the past couple years sent a couple emails to the helpdesk requesting
this feature and have asked for the feature to be added on multiple occasions.
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1390647

I sent a helpdesk request under other issues.

Since I need to send in a couple pdfs, hopefully there will be an email address
to attach the documentation to.

Alex

Use the link in this Help page for the exact email address:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2467#exemptions

email address: bricklink@support.lego.com

subject line: US tax exemption

You should be able to send an attachment when using the email address.

Officially 2 weeks, but since we are focusing on this at the moment, it should
be considerably less.

Good news. Is this LEGO group or just LEGO Bricklink?

Just BrickLink, and just for reselling. Non-profits like schools are currently
not covered.

Is that even permissible now that LEGO owns the site?

Yes, you may list this as a custom item.

Seems fair to me!

Thank you for your time for this buyer, Russell.

But BTW what are you doing on BrickLink Forum on a Saturday???

There are several of us that keep an eye on things outside of regular working
hours, mostly due to the fraud issue we have been having. I am generally the
only one who posts, though.

As a user of BrickLink, for years I have always read the Forum like one would
read a newspaper every day, just to keep up. For me it, it is more interesting
than a lot of the traditional news.

  Dear Sir or Madam,
I do not understand Bricklink.

In Germany, but also in Europe, we have the so-called "right of withdrawal".
This also applies to all commercial dealers in Germany who sell on Bricklink.

I revoked a purchase contract, sent the goods back and was immediately refunded
the money by the retailer via the original payment method (Paypal).

The retailer has now opened a "Non-Paying Buyer Alert".

I don't understand the system here, are you penalized on Bricklink and banned
after the third revocation?
Is this platform not adapted to European law?
Can you please explain to me whether I am misunderstanding this or how it works
here on Bricklink works?

Bricklink Quote:
(Non-Paying Buyer alert has been initiated for order #xxxxon
If payment is not initiated, the seller (xxx) will have an option to cancel the
order which will result in the following consequence for the buyer (xxx):

* 1 cancelled order - Warning
* 2 cancelled orders - Warning
* 3 cancelled orders - Buyer privileges permanently revoked )

Since you originally paid for the order, the NPB has been removed.

This is the same case with a seller - if a buyer receives the order, any NSS
on that order is removed.

Either party has the ability to leave feedback in these cases if they are unhappy
with the order.

Thank you for reporting this and your messages earlier today. We are aware that
this has broken some functionality and we are in a discussion as to the best

UPDATE:

The new login procedure was launched as a security feature, but we have rolled
it back. There should be no issues with Brickstore login at this point.

Please let us know if you continue to experience problems. Thank you for your

I'm wondering if anyone else received a similar email?

There was an official email sent out last night warning about phishing scams
