  Hello all,

I have a couple of questions on Brickstock which someone might know the answer
to.

My store uses EURO and in Brickstock I have ticked Currency, Use the local currency
$1 = €1.

I have changed my asking price in Brickstock to the Last 6 months sales (average).

Question 1: Is my setting local currency $1 = €1 correct? I am not trying to
convert my store currency as it is in Euro now and I wish it remains so.

Question 2: Is the revalued asking price the Last 6 month sales average in Euro?
I read other forum posts that stated that BrickStock only uses sales data in
USD to compute its averages.

Question 3: if indeed the above is correct (in relation to USD and sales data)
is there any means to determine the actual average 6 month Sales data for the
World or European market?

Thanks for any help with either of these queries.

The prices you see in BrickScout are in Dollars.
So, if you let BS set your prices to the Average, you see (with 1 = 1) Dollar
prices.

In BS under "edit"-"price"-"incr or decr" you have to lower your prices with
about 10% to come to the Euro prices, as shown in BrickLink.

....but it´s never as accurate as you would like it to be, the DollarEuro
exchange rate is fluctuating all the time.

You have two shipping types set up for quotes (just checked it in your store):
International Letter - PARTS - No T&T;
International small Box - MINIFIGS - No T&T

Those both pop open with a quote option. Check your shipping settings under shipping
methods for both of those.

Thanks a lot for checking!!
Although there is no related setting under ´shipping options´ with ´Quote´ I´ve
deleted the field ´Max. Weight´ at the end of the settings. My other settings
do not have that field.
I hope it´s solved now.

And just for the record, sellers' tools are the next thing on the agenda
once the first phase of XP is launched. This launch is right around the corner,
likely March.

Hmm, that is exactly the SAME MESSAGE we've got from Jay Kim and the developers
team A FEW YEARS AGO at the meetings in Cologne (DE) and Rotterdam (NL).

Honestly I don't believe a word of it, sorry.

Come on techies at BL, fix this issue this weekend as there are many sellers

Same annoying problem over here.
BrickStock is for us also THE tool to keep Inventory update and synchronised.

A workaround is possible with help of BrickSync.
For those who already use it to sync BO and BL:

Type command 'blmaster on' and then 'blmaster off'

That moment a backup of your BL inventory will be saved to disk, in *.bsx format
= your shopinventory.

For now the most convenient way to secure your new data locally after BL orders
or after uploads from yourself.

Is this normal and is there any way to change it?
Thank you

Find the file bricksync.conf.txt (usualy in map ..../data/)
Scroll down, under ´Advanced´ you can set the retain option from 0 to 1
Save the file.

The annoying policy (cheap) with ´to return´ packages is, that DHL (and others)
simply collect them in some warehouse, until they have a full container to put
on the airplane.

If not much from Canada is send back to Germany, this ´collecting´ takes quite
a while. In other words: Return packages are not important, nobody cares that
much.
´patience´ is what you need, NOT funny...grr.

In Shipping, MagicMagnus writes:
Basically the reply from DHL is saying that the parcel is currently on the way
back to the seller. I further says that this might take a while and that DHL
cannot influence the time for the return.

So I don't think your parcel is lost - it is just returned to the seller.

In Shipping, SezaR writes:
I bought an item that was sent from Germany to Italy on may 9 (not from Bricklink).
The tracking says something like this:

- May 18: Due to an address error, the shipment could not be delivered. A new
delivery attempt will take place.
....
- May 21: The shipment will be transported to the destination country and, from
there, handed over to the delivery organization. (Homepage / online shipment
tracking: )

After since then, nothing has been updated. The seller/sender contacted DhL.
They replied:

********
Guten Tag, Frau Ondrusch,

What can I do know to find the parcel? Is there still hope that they find the
parcel? How can I make DhL to do more investigation?

P.S. the question is to find the parcel and not how I can get my money back (answer:
claim a non-delivery through PayPal)

After 18 years on BrickLink I need Help from you guys...
2 things:

- I am hit by an NSS from a newbie Turkish buyer, because we made a counting
mistake with his order. Instead of a simple message, he filed an NSS. Oh well,
no stress here, all solved, but he does not know how to remove the NSS
BUT
I have never had (or given) an NSS and I also have no idea (from a Buyers perspective)
how you set the Order from NSS to Completed.
...I feel a little but dumb...can someone explain me how it works??

- the Buyer seems not to understand much of the English language, so I would
to like to send the solution to him in Turkish.
Anybody who can help me with the translation?? (non-Google...)

I have an buyer from a € country that ordered more than 100 grams of Lego.
This gives standard shippingcosts of €8,40 plus €0,50 for materials.
The ordervalue is €4,88 so shippingcosts are double the ordervalue.

She also wants to pay by Paypal while I ask IBAN from € country’s.

I kindly send an e-mail regarding the shippingcosts that are higher than the
ordervalue, most of the time buyers respond kindly and want to proceed because
they need the parts or want to cancel because the shippingcosts are too high.
And, although shippingcosts can be seen in my storeterms, I do understand they
sometimes are not read.

I also mentioned the costs of Paypal are almost 20%, in fact 17% so almost 20%
of the ordervalue while IBAN is free of charges.
It would costs me €0,84 out of the €4,88.

Her responses where very unpleassant, calling me a liar while at first I warned
her for the high shippingcosts.
Shippingcosts I can do nothing about, it is what Dutch post charges me.
A liar because I said almost 20% while it is 17%, this is nitpicking.

Now she is calling me a liar, a silly person and it has only started a few minutes
ago.
All her responses come outside Bricklink, I copied and pasted her responses and
responded through Bricklink myself.
She wants an OCR because I provided a shippingfee that is too high!
I provided her nothing yet, I did not even send an invoice I just gave her a
pre invoice message so she could decide what she wants to do, cancel or proceed.

But I do think I do not want to go to an OCR, this will give her the opportunity
to give me a non positive feedback that I do not like and certainly do not deserve.

I know calling someone a liar and a silly person isn’t the biggest insult but
it is certainly not friendly.

Is this something I can share with Admin?

She already hase 2 strikes for NPB so if this is the last one it is finished
for her too, I do not understand her at all.

Just invoice and hopefully it's a NPB, then she can select Cancel order and
accept penalty.

Report the members behaviour here https://www.bricklink.com/problemMember.asp

Thanks Wilbert, I reported her, I hope Admin can read the communication at the
orderpage.
And maybe it is a good idea to invoice her with IBAN only.

Keep it simple, your shop terms are clear:
- send IBAN Invoice
- wait 1 or 2 weeks, depending on her reply to it.
- complete the NPB

Such buyers ´screem´ for it to get a third NPB, we all can do perfectly without
their presence here on BrickLink....

Small detail though: if she pays you still have a good chance to get a Neutral
or Negative, grrr.

much as I've always loved Bricklink, I never even realized how good we have
it here. I've heard it said many times how outdated Bricklink is with the
functionality and just looks of it. After being on 100's of websites yesterday,
Bricklink is head and shoulders above them all in functionality, use, and looks.

Amazon and Ebay are obviously the kings of the ecommerce websites. And I do find
it easier to browse on those sites than Bricklink. But it is far harder to sell.
I'm talking with the fees and the work that goes into listing your item.
And when it comes to the looks of the website. Well Bricklink's Carrie Underwood.
And obviously no one matches her looks.

There may be faults with this website. Personally, I'm not aware of any currently
but I know some of you are. But I honestly believe there is not an internet website
or community that has it better than us.

Thank-you Bricklink.

I have always thought it would be nice to have a BrickLink for other collectibles.
It would be perfect for baseball cards, comics, coins, and stamps.

"delete items" and "submit changes" but nothing seems to happen.

I'm a little skittish about doing this because I don't want my items

BTW I really like the changes that have taken place (yes, it's been THAT
long) and I'mm having fun learning all the things and how to get there.

Lainee

- download your whole store inventory in BrickStock
- sort on quantity, select your zero-parts
- give all the Zero-items an amount of -1
- upload these in BrickLink, with Retain option off
(negative quantities lead to deleting!)
= everything deleted in BrickLink within 5 minutes

Have fun becoming a seller again!

Welcome to Bricklink! 2 things I noticed going over your terms;
- No letter shipments abroad? (except on individual request) this will cost
you more than a third of the orders probably, that's a shame.
- You are charging 5% for PayPal payments regardless of the actual percentage
due. This is usually less than that, and overcharging payment methods is actually
in violation of the law. You are only allowed to charge the exact amount. If
calculating the exact amount is logistically impractical, try undercharging (3%)
or giving a 5% discount to non-PayPal payments. Also, you can chose to cover
these expenses yourself and restricting this payment method to non-NL or non-Euro
transactions.

How can I restrict paypal tot non-Euro transactions?

Don´t do it. If you charge a PP fee, who cares which country it comes from?
Promoting IBAN, yes of course, but many EU buyers still have no idea how they
make a bankpayment at home....

Simply part out the set in BrickStock, give all parts a ´whatever´ price (no
remark!), and Export it to BrickLink.
With the upload markers ´old price´ and ´concatenate remarks´ you are done in
a few minutes.
