| Sales are nice thing, right? Scoring a bulk load of 1x1 plates you so desperately
need for a long overdue project helps you move on!
When 70% of the sales announcements concern shops that do NOT ship to you, the
nice efforts turn into an ever growing deception....
So here's my suggestion: have a SALE announcement link to the shipping terms
of the store so there will be ONLY announcement visible that actually DO ship
to your country.

The main issue here is how to differentiate between the seller, selling of his
or hers overstock with the intention to get rid of it and the seller purchasing
and reselling parts/sets etc with the intention to generate profit with it

similar differences from the other factories worldwide.

| Spot on.
On uploading used parts, I always check for my self: "Would I be happy to receive
this?" Whenever the anser is NO, the part goes into the bin, unless it's
a rare piece. In that case, I try to describe as detailed as possible the condition
of the part.
Maintaining high standards for oneself prevents in most cases selling crappy
parts.

- calculate 10% fee
- receive payment
- refund any overcalculated fee after payment was received
Or will this alse affect the percentage and therefor costs made?
Man, thinking about this might even get me PP-fee-less in the near future. But
at higher item prices? Is that what most PP-fee-less sellers do? Help me out
with some GOOD advice people....

Mmmm, that makes it even harder.
Just checked my last 8 payments on PP (USD and EUR, 5 different countries). Overall
fee is 5.6%. Ranging from a 3.6% to 8.1%.
How can you get a cost table implemented like that that can be explained and

I was looking at the personal rates.
As I am a hobbiest seller and not registered as a commercial user of PP, I think
the personal rates apply. Correct? Or does PP not distinguish between them?

| These rules you refer to, apply to commercial business only as far as I can follow
it through. So this might only be applied to those.
As all sellers and buyers alike we are expected to operate within the law.
So either we should implement ALL laws from ALL countries BL has members from,
or there's a general rule that we all stick to the local laws from the country
the seller is based in. No need to add some specific rules and leave others out.
It's either ALL or NOTHING....

| In replying to forum posts, the standard system setting is to quote the post
you are replying to. This generates LARGE texts that one has to scroll through
to get the additional post made by the poster.
Please set this standard to OFF:
- makes the forumposts cleaner
- readingspeed increases
- mouses/PGDWN-keys will last longer due to less scrolling
- less data storage needed on servers
(has been requested two times before, no follow-up unfortunately)

Overhaul of the NSS/NRS system required.
Regarding recent posts of blocked shops due to a cummulation of three (!) NSS's
over the last few years (!!), this system needs an overhaul.
1) NSS / NSR are in effect NO longer than a fixed time; for instance 6 months
2) users can ALWAYS review their scores on ALL the codes (NSS/NRS/NPB/OCR/etc....)
availabe for classifying orders (the data must be in the database.
Short post, needs more work, I know. Please add when wanted....... or when you
miss stuff.
If there IS a way to check your scores, please post it here AND (@ADMIN/@TECHSTAFF),
add it to the MyBrickLink page PLEASE.

Where that came frome is stored in the database, so that can be used to give
points to admissions placed already. Also that's a small coding job I guess

Than you must not vote no to this idea. Your NO is pointed at the incorrect additions
to the inventory. Only correct (checked, double checked, triple checked, whatever-ple
checked!) additions qualify for points. So that needs to be ruled out.
Errors in additions might also result in deduction of points.

| Interesting distinction between sellers and buyers, but ANY member can contribute.
So as a buyer doesn't have to pay BL fee's indeed, they might be up for
a generic store coupon on redeeming points. This coupon should be redeemable
at ANY store.

I think a points system would work well, different weightings for different things
you do to the catalogue, points = money off your fee's.

Agreed, didn't work that out as there are many ways to do this. Indeed there
has to be a weight factor and time factor to earn points that you can redeem
as fee discounts or coupons at specific stores. Hey, that just sounds like
a membership programm!!

| As this is still a community build and moderated site, all efforts by members
to improve the site, listings, behaviour of members etc, should result in a discount
on fees to be paid.
Bricklink should have a program that rewards members who:
- catalog contributions
- image improvements
- price guide corrections
- listings corrections
- adding help files/video's/translations
- .....
At this day, only BAD behaviour is santioned (NSS, NPB's, site and forum
bans etc....). Let us not emphasize the negative behaviour but reward the positive
behaviour.

| This solution does not prevent tricks like BRicksters (see other posts for details)
has pulled of succesfully over a long period of time.
Apparently the rule is:
if you can't read the feedback right, we can't be bothered when are being
scammed, it's your own fault.
We as sellers and buyers do our best to help new members getting familiar here
at BL and at the same time, they are easy prey for scavengers.
The feedback system is fine, reading is required, decisions are made by individuals
to buy stuff. But the system that provides these bad sellers needs to be addressed
and changed. NOT the feedback system (at least: not for this reason...).

This is the hardest thing for so many people to do without feeling like they
are incompetent. But it is the best way to gain the confidence of your customer.
It's one of those things that most people think is backwards, ie "don't
admit you don't know something or they will think you are incompetent". This
is simply not true.

I think it would be more powerful if the featurew is implemented BL-wide and
not at the choice of a seller.

| What's wrong with the fun you can have when going through the top 10 sellers
manually in 10 different opened windows on your pc after the first search has
been done?
I can determine rather quickly what seller(s) are the best options for me (based
on fees, shipping costs, location, other stuff not on my wanted list but always
nice to acquire). Adding this feature into the storesoftware would spoil this....
It's not always necessary to automate manual processes. Keeps the mind working
too!

I agree with you, and disagree with the proposed rule.
If the sale went through, feedback should be allowed.
Those who bother to read feedback usually can spot when the feedback is unjustified.
I am against some of the current removal of feedback that occurs.
I think feedback should be much harder to get removed than it now is.

To give feedback is easy, removal of feedback is easy.
Instead of focusing on a harder removal policy I think it is better to prevent
incorrect or unrelated feedback by removing the possibilty to do post them in
the first place. Prevention before correction. It also forces anyone to think
twice about the feedback the are about to give.
Anyone with revoked privileges did something that made them revoked. No need
to let the revokee do more damage to the community.

In that case I would agree that any feedback should be removed (or blocked),
because it would be for a bogus order -- an order placed after the buyer had
their buying privileges revoked.

Can that be done? Buying after your rights have been revoked?
Maybe the solution is worse than the action, I'm not sure.
Anyway, there must be some sort of 'holding area' where disputes are handled
and in the meantime the disputers that are 'banned' must be kept away from doing
more harm. That's my intention anyway. Banning it from all the options of BL
sounds harse indeed.... Mmm, tricky.

Revoked privileges = there's something not completely right; therefor it acts
as a warning to sellers and buyers.
During this warning-period it is up to the revoked one to 'prove' the opposite.
And it is safe for the community to have it's overall posting rights revoked
as well.
Shipping to an already revoked buyer sounds like an intended act of fraud?
In Dutch you are 'te kwader trouw', meaning you are aware of the wrongfulness
of the act but you still act like it.

its feedback privileges. This in order to prevent retaliatory actions from buyer
and seller.
