Maddening isn't it? I think 60% feedback ratio is status quo. I've
been looking at buyer feedbacks a lot lately and there are some people out there
with 2000+ who have never left feedback for anyone else.

Personally I find reminder to leave feedback emails to be very annoying.

No.
It's optional, you can't enforce an option.

"Feedback is how you let other members know how well a transaction went."
So, if you're not interetsed to let other members know, you don't have
to.

Completed - same.

Buyer PAYS for some goods, seller ships, buyer receives, he's happy, he's
nothing else to do.

Thank you for your feedback!

Sensible. Put it forward as a Suggestion post, I say.

No, as said, because Completed means:
"Completed - Package received, contents verified, the order is completed."

And some sellers (like me) give feedback as soon as shipped, and some buyers
even before...

Transaction is completed: neither BrickLink or the seller can't decide this
- whatever the algorithm is.

Buyer paid for something, he has to say the final word, or don't - it's
not even mandatory.

How come the tax line is not automatically included?

Because the manual invoicing system uses custom templates and pre-dates the collection
of sales tax, VAT, etc. by BrickLink.

This is already possible; the seller needs to have the appropriate macro tags on
their invoice templates.

Here are mine for example, they work for all TAX, VAT and GST orders.

As the invoice are custom templates they need to be updated or reset manually,
they have specifications from each seller so if the admins reset them all that
would be lost and become a mess for all.

They could inject the code instead but I don't think the bricklink system
is so capable...

It is very annoying to see:

Total: US $43.77
Shipping: US $10.80
Insurance: US $0.00
Additional Charges: US $1.00
Credit: US $0.00
Grand Total: US $57.94

$43.77
$10.80
$ 1.00
-------
$55.57

There is clearly a discrepancy between the Grand Total and what is actually showing
for charges. Since taxes are not included in those charges, the discrepancy must
be the taxes.

1) This discrepancy will likely confuse many buyers.
2) Anyone who prints the invoice for business reasons will not have a paper record
of the taxes paid.
3) In case of an audit, having a record of taxes paid on paper is beneficial.

This is already possible, the seller needs to have the appropiate macrotags on

Ideally there would be two types of Complete in the pulldown, one for "Seller
- Complete" and the other "Buyer - Complete".

I don't think that's really necessary - once it's "Shipped"
it's "seller complete".

But is it really "seller complete"?

If the buyer should receive their order and find inconsistencies with the order,
the buyer reaches out to the seller. The seller then needs to communicate with
the buyer to try to find a solution that both can agree to.
this scenario is in play, then the seller's side is NOT complete until an
agreement can be reached, and the seller honors the agreement.

IMO the only person that should have final say on whether or not an order is
complete, is the buyer! If the buyer does not mark an order as complete, then
leave it as such. The buyer has 6 months to make a claim on any order they pay
for and after 6 months the order is "purged" from the system.

If you are a seller and it bothers you that an order is just sitting there after
you have shipped it, I say "To Bad". It is the buyer's right
to make a claim for up to 6 months REGARDLESS of your store terms because Bricklink
terms supersede store terms.

Some sellers file an order once they believe the order to be complete. I do not
know how this affects the seller's ability to help a buyer if there is a
problem, but this would seem like a decent solution for a seller if having an
order on your orders list for 6 months bothers you.

In truth no order is fully complete until it has been purged from the system
after 6 months.

I vote "YES"

EasyBuy is easy but dumb.  Use the Buy page instead (Buy All button in a WL or
hover over the white heart-shaped icon and click Buy when the menu appers).
On the Buy page, you can use Auto-select that’ll give similar results to EasyBuy,
just with a couple clicks more.
Bonuses:
— you can select multiple lists,
— there’s filters (location…),
— you can even cherry-pick lots in multiple WLs (using the Wanted Items tab on
the left).

As for merging lists, yes, it’s been missing and we asked for it since the inception
of the “new” Wanted List pages, in 2016.
As a workaround, you can ‘merge’ WLs by downloading your lists and uploading
them into a new one.
Not very user-friendly but you then don’t need to use or create a tool to do
it.

I was recently purchasing parts for two different builds that were in different
want lists.

I discovered you can only easy buy for a single wantlist at a time which meant
losing a lot of the efficiency of a single order, and because some of the orders
were small meant not qualifying for the minimum order, even though the combined
total of the wantlists was sufficient.

I subsequently merged the XML files by writing a Python script and reported it
as a new want list. This would be much easier if it were an internal feature.
Preferably I would select distinct want lists and easy buy would merge on the
back end so that I can maintain the sorting of the part lists, but it would be
acceptable to have a "merge want lists" feature internally.

This tool needs to resolve the very common situation that there will be duplicate
parts between lists being merged. Ideally it would use the merged total for calculations
but have a drop down showing the two required amounts from the premerged sources.
The former is simple the latter a little more difficult since the XML format
doesn't have a tag that would allow this.

Thank you.

Hello,

This morning I was importing an XML file with the attached results. In every
case, removing the letter from the part number correctly resolved the issue,
but I noticed while confirming the parts that for each of these parts the site
has recorded the below numbers as "alternate item numbers".

My suggestion is that the import utility also search the alternate numbers when
attempting to import, and update the Wanted List with the most appropriate current
number. This should probably generate an import warning message but should allow
the import to proceed.

Thank you

The following items in the XML file are invalid or do not exist in the Bricklink
Catalog.

Seems to me anyway, that simply restricting zero feedback members the use of
links in the forum, would immediately eliminate most current spam posts and deter
future ones. Haven’t been looking that close at these posts, but from what I’ve
seen, it’s presenting links they have as a common purpose or motivation. Removing
motivation is often a subtle yet effective tack in life.

Could be that it’s not all that simple, technically to implement. I don’t know,
but if doable, why not? Personally don't find the spam posts all that bothersome.
Many do though, and if there's an easy fix to tidy things up a bit...

-popsicle

The spam posts tend to get removed really quite fast, at least at the times of
day when I see them (and report them). Links only work if people click on them.
If nobody clicks on them then there is no motivation to post more. Yet still
they post and post.
