This solution does not prevent tricks like BRicksters (see other posts for details)
has pulled of succesfully over a long period of time.
Apparently the rule is:

if you can't read the feedback right, we can't be bothered when are being
scammed, it's your own fault.

We as sellers and buyers do our best to help new members getting familiar here
at BL and at the same time, they are easy prey for scavengers.

The feedback system is fine, reading is required, decisions are made by individuals
to buy stuff. But the system that provides these bad sellers needs to be addressed
and changed. NOT the feedback system (at least: not for this reason...).

It takes a wise man to make this post. Not many people have the strength and
wisdom to do this. Nice to see one who has.
Thanks Ken.

In fairness, it WAS suggested. Why they chose this suggestion, out of all of
them, to implement is beyond me though.

Missed that

  Better text:

"When this set was released on 2010 the Manufacturers' Suggested Retail Price
was $99.99. Be advised that in the secondary market prices are determined by
supply and demand and may be significantly more than MSRP."

Yep, please add this to the implemented feature CS! Please?

Nicely put.
An explanation on the WHY this was added would be nice
I haven't got a clue from the point of sales that is.... As research facility,
it is a nice addition though.

Well made point.
I recently hinted the CS to opening an update tab or something like that so
there is an OFFICIAL 'release/update/news' thread that doesn't fill
up the forum.
I'm PRO!

Ignorent readers will also not read the TOS, useless addition in my opinion.
You can't educate a potential buyer with a sharper TOS....

This is the hardest thing for so many people to do without feeling like they
are incompetent. But it is the best way to gain the confidence of your customer.
It's one of those things that most people think is backwards, ie "don't
admit you don't know something or they will think you are incompetent". This
is simply not true.

I feel saying 'I don't know' proof of pure selfknowledge. It is not
always regarded as such, but being aware of ones limitations is a very powerful
force.

I vote YEAH!

With technologies available, a webinar or skype conference call can do the trick.
That saves a lot of time and money travelling

Nice addition. But the optional part I don't get. That's like saying
you can buy as a non-member, but in fact you can't buy at certain stores.
I think it would be more powerful if the featurew is implemented BL-wide and
not at the choice of a seller.

I now place my wanted number in the remarks field and manually edit them after

What's wrong with the fun you can have when going through the top 10 sellers
manually in 10 different opened windows on your pc after the first search has
been done?

I can determine rather quickly what seller(s) are the best options for me (based
on fees, shipping costs, location, other stuff not on my wanted list but always
nice to acquire). Adding this feature into the storesoftware would spoil this....

It's not always necessary to automate manual processes. Keeps the mind working
too!

Theoretically it seems a good idea but the buying privileges revoked concern
the possibility to place new orders and the retaliatory feedback concerns past
orders when the buyer had his privileges, then I am not agree.

Davide

I agree with you, and disagree with the proposed rule.

If the sale went through, feedback should be allowed.
Those who bother to read feedback usually can spot when the feedback is unjustified.

I am against some of the current removal of feedback that occurs.
I think feedback should be much harder to get removed than it now is.

To give feedback is easy, removal of feedback is easy.

Instead of focusing on a harder removal policy I think it is better to prevent
incorrect or unrelated feedback by removing the possibilty to do post them in
the first place. Prevention before correction. It also forces anyone to think
twice about the feedback the are about to give.
Anyone with revoked privileges did something that made them revoked. No need
to let the revokee do more damage to the community.

In that case I would agree that any feedback should be removed (or blocked),
because it would be for a bogus order -- an order placed after the buyer had
their buying privileges revoked.

Can that be done? Buying after your rights have been revoked?
Maybe the solution is worse than the action, I'm not sure.
Anyway, there must be some sort of 'holding area' where disputes are handled
and in the meantime the disputers that are 'banned' must be kept away from doing
more harm. That's my intention anyway. Banning it from all the options of BL
sounds harse indeed.... Mmm, tricky.

So let's assume that a user is blocked for being under age. An unscrupulous seller
decides to take advantage of this and not ship the paid order from this now-banned
buyer. Why do you feel that it is fair to community for the buyer not to be able
post appropriate feedback?

I certainly wouldn't want to deal with such a seller and would appreciate the
feedback.

Revoked privileges = there's something not completely right; therefor it acts
as a warning to sellers and buyers.
During this warning-period it is up to the revoked one to 'prove' the opposite.
And it is safe for the community to have it's overall posting rights revoked
as well.
Shipping to an already revoked buyer sounds like an intended act of fraud?
In Dutch you are 'te kwader trouw', meaning you are aware of the wrongfulness
of the act but you still act like it.

Revoking privileges is an attempt to prevent repeating previous actions.
Seen as such, you still disagree?

When a user has its buying privileges revoked, it should automatically revoke
its feedback privileges. This in order to prevent retaliatory actions from buyer
and seller.
Please keep this place tidy

Since you want to keep all the LEGO nerds in ONE PLACE.

And keeping people addicted to the Crack Site called Brick Link is paramount
to the stores sales.

Keeping people interested keeps them here vs. Ebay, Amazon, etc...

Just my suggestion.

I have been buying more off Brick Link since I am not spending much time here
doing inventory and posting.

Thank you for listening.

WOW, that is a ton of suggestions!

What's next: a TV-station, movies, advertising guru's, free goodies in cereal
?

Please leave it as it is, there's already enough S**T on the net these days.
I think my foul-language and explicit-image filters will prevent me from coming
to BrickLink if these kind of fora are to be coupled to this community of mostly
sane and decent people.

If I would like to take the piss on someone I'd prefer a face-2-face encounter.
Shouting on the net has been made to easy. 21-12-2012 the end of the world? As
the moral decay continues at this speed, we might not even get there and will
destroy ourselves before that date .....

BDD, you're famous for poking in a bee-hive, don't be surprised if you get stung
again (is that correct English?).

I vote yes to having it much more visible and user friendly.

O, nevertheless, it's a YES!!!! (please?)
