Hi! are you concerned about getting a lot of sales quickly or more willing to
wait for the right buyers? Stores that do well seem to have either low prices
or a huge selection that can accommodate the average buyer's wish list. You
can go in a couple different directions here.
- Stay as is and wait for the right buyers,
- Get a few sets to part out to round out your selection, or
- lower the prices of your stock.

There might be some other ideas from the forum and the more experienced sellers;
this is my limited opinion! Have an epic day!

You might want to try listing some cheaper items to try and get some sales to
build up some feedback. Not only are your prices a bit high, you have no history
of selling so buyers are likely to ignore your store rather than risk a lot of
money with a new seller.

+1

Very rational and helpful input as usual

Hello, and welcome...

Being abrupt by nature, I'm hoping you don't take it wrongly

You don't have enough parts to offer fair input there. But as to your used
SW minifigs: you might wanna adjust your price expectations downward. At least
until you get the ball rolling with your sales numbers and seller rep.

Hopefully not too abrupt

Yea, that’s kind of messed up. Their post was July 29 and the. The negatives
started pouring in a few weeks later. Active since 2017 and just a smattering
of sales. Probably decided to give up and take whatever money they could.

No comments on the prices, but I'd pad out your terms, particularly add a
shipping table. Also I would scrub the part about not being responsible for
untracked post. That won't end well for you if there's a problem.

A small store like yours should be priced below the 6-month average rather than
between that and the current price.

Thanks and did you link it to bricklink or was it already done for you?

its automatic so long as you connect your strip account to your bricklink account
here
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/mystore/payments.page
both paypal and stripe onsite will always contain the bricklink order number
in the payment info on the respective sites so you should never need to "link
it" unless you accept payments offsite which just makes things more difficult
for all parties involved

me easier.

But I'm struggling to find a way to give this user free shipping without
opening it up for all buyers. So far I've tried:

- Issue a coupon for the shipping costs, this didn't work because a coupon
is limited by the value of the order and because my buyer wants to add items
for less than the shipping costs they would only get the value of the items for
free but still would have to pay the full shipping costs.

- Create a "Free Shipping Method" with a very high min-buy and a bypass
password. This didn't work because the password seems to only lift the global
minimum buy restriction, but no shipping methods are displayed during checkout.

Do you have any suggestions on how I could handle this and give this user free
shipping without asking them to upfront it and than sending it back?

put the order back on ready, let him add the parts
make an manual invoice

it should all be onsite thru bricklink so it would be "connected" by
bricklink. for example this is what it should look like in your stripe dashboard
"all" section

the simplest method is to have them pay it with the shipping costs and then refund
them the shipping cost. the side effect is you have to pay fees on it but if
shipping is under say $10 or so it's probably easier to pay the fee than
to try and figure out another method. you could create a manual invoice option
or set the weight of one of the items your buyer wants to buy to be so high that
it doesn't work with any of your shipping options which would then default
it to an invoice backup (if you have that selected in your store settings)

You can scam quite a bit with good prices and make excuses for not being able
to ship and more orders come in before someone finally starts an NSS. Then it
takes 3 to trigger a problem with BL. In the meantime, they keep selling more.
This might blowup even more.

He stole a lot of money from me and unfortunately I paid by bank transfer.
Does anyone have any information about this seller?
Thanks for every hint!

maybe he died & no one knew how to log into his accounts or that he even sold
lego online...
not everything in life is nefarious & meant to be something personal or a scam.

Remember that they can only request what you allow them to request. If you want
orders to have tracking, then you can insist on that and charge the buyer for
it.

Hi

1) Click on the drop-down menu along the top of the screen (which defaults to
'All Items' ) & Select 'My Store Inventory'
2) Next enter the part number and then click on 'Search'
3) This will then show all of the lots in your inventory for that part (seperated
by colour)
4) You can then update the 'Qty:' to the correct number
5) Finally click on the 'Submit Changes' at the bottom of the page.

I hope this helps

If it’s been more than several months and the buyer has told you they haven’t
gotten it then refund them and canceled the order. The seller is fully responsible
regardless of insurance/tracking for the order so it’s best to refund before
a claim is filled as when the claim is completed you’ll get hit with an additional
fee (I think it’s something like $20)

No clue.

We have had around 10 of these in the past 3 months.

Maybe it is time to just go domestic?

Your thoughts?

I think I know why your packages have been disappearing.

Completely understandable to most vendors here, your experience. It does get
easier over time though, as you learn further and adapt/adjust. May be hard for
you to believe just now, but there is a point when it becomes enjoyable (at least
far less stressful) even for the casual seller like yourself, Bill.

Also keep in mind, the process of selling used you've been initiated with,
is more time consuming than that of the new-set-partout operation some of us
have only known. In other words, it's folks such you that have my respect

How long ago did you ship the package? International mail can sometimes take
very long. On rare occasions a few of the orders I shipped arrived after more
than two months.

If the buyer has paid via Paypal, you need proof of delivery. If you do not have
this, Paypal will decide for the buyer.

Normally slows a little after the first two weeks unless you are a huge store
and then hopefully becomes a manageable steady flow of orders which you can cope
with.

My experience anyway.

Ive noticed once that refunds through stripe, use the same dates as payout to
seller (stripe holds the funds for some amount of time and pays out on set dates,
if so orders will be accumulated)

Payouts in refunds follow the same time frame but the other way around (stripe
to buyer)

Stripe wont go into negative on the sellers account.

So the seller needs to have the 1.8K gbp or more in his stripe balance , to make
this refund go through from stripe to in this case you.

I feel like the seller is not aware of this.
I think his balance in stripe is not high enough to set the refund through.

If his funds got paid out to his bank account before the refund was set; this
could be a likely scenario.

Please ask to seller to check in his stripe account, check if the balance is
enough.
And wich date the next payout would be.

He should see somewhere that there is a pending refund also.

Note; for high value orders like these the paypal fee's are a pain but it
does come with extra buyer protection.

Also refunds with paypal are much faster paid out

Hi, I was issued a refund by the seller on the 7th of April on Bricklink for
an order cancellation agreed by Buyer and Seller. Asked for updates from Seller
and he's said that he's only been debited on the 14th of April.

It has been 3 weeks now and no Refund has been received on my end. Seller says
he has raised a ticket with STRIPE (our payment method) but hasn't got a
response yet.

My order is still in NSS.

I have asked my bank and they notified me that there are no pending refunds coming
into my account...

Am just curious if this is normal that it takes more than 2 weeks for a refund
to be processed and what the he'll is going on...

Is the seller lying to me or is it really a payment issue...

Order is about 1.8k GBP

22484 Bar 1L with Tow Ball

With

Part No: 85861 Name: Plate, Round 1 x 1 with Open Stud

No worries. Looks suspiciously like this:

Part No: 80477 Name: Technic, Pin with Bar and Tow Ball, 3L
*
80477 Technic, Pin with Bar and Tow Ball, 3L
Parts: Technic, Pin {Dark Bluish Gray}
I say suspiciously because
yours is solid and doesn't have the notches on both sides that allow the
end to flex and push in to a hole. Are you sure it's LEGO?

Probably not, it has no technic pin and the ball doesn't fit into a a socket.
No idea where i got this.

Yea... This is why I really don't like just posting positive feedback until
the transaction is complete, but knowing I can go back and change it later is
reassuring. I had a bizarre exchange with a buyer this week (after leaving feedback
but before shipping) and after two hours of back and forth they realized they
were talking to the wrong store about a different order. Thanks for posting
that link 1001.

Just FYI, as a buyer I did my job while ordering and paying gracefully.
So, I never post any feedback if the seller didn't.

You're welcome.

Now consider using comms with your uninitiated buyer, to do the same in
reverse. It's important though, that you first remove the neg you've
just left for them

In other words, both of you remove your feedbacks and talk. From the feedback
wording, there's room for it. You both have motivation to do so in any case...
If talks fail, you both can repost with renewed vigor

Congrats! I just packaged up my 50th Bricklink order, and this past week has
been my best so far - long may it continue!

Messaged them asking why a neutral, explaining result of a neutral on my score,
awaiting a reply.

Oh well, it won’t affect sales as buyers can see the customer was happy with
items.

Congrats, and well done to James as well.

We had season passes the first two years of LegoLand, CA's opening, my son,

to eat our lunch outdoors. It was a very nice environment for the kids and I
in the earlier years of its opening. Very relaxed wonderful space for them especially.
Good memories

So almost inevitably, we became friends with some that worked there. In particular
was a woman that ran the injection molding display at the park, my kids speaking
Swedish and her being from and missing her family in Sweden, it just happened.
Anyway, we ended up with a lot of souvenirs she liked to give them, samples from
what the displayed LEGO injection molding machine processed throughout the day.
This was before our involvement with BL and the selling of LEGO, or really even
as enthusiastic fans of LEGO, and so they were just fun items for my son and
daughter to take home.

Cutting back towards the point: These items were produced on an official LEGO
injection molding machine by a LEGO affiliated employee. Would these unique items
hypothetically then be allowed into the BL catalog? I say hypothetically, as
we no longer have the parts. Tossed them long ago, actually

Now to the point: What does actually qualify as "officially" LEGO
and therefore allowed to be sold here?
Maybe more definitive guidelines would
be useful to all of within the secondary marketplace?

Just some (anecdotal backed) pondering

People need to stop picking at a scab and making themselves bleed.

Where do you want to draw the line?

LEGO could require you to submit invoices and receipts for every item you sell.

While this would no doubt cut down on the small percent of the community who
buy fenced goods, thieves, and factory fiends, it would be a nuisance for sellers
overall, especially for people who have older pieces and sets.

LEGO has a general hands-off policy regarding the secondary market, and it is
best it be kept that way.

That said, I do agree with the sentiment of what you're expressing too.

Reread the post, let's see if you can get at least a basic understanding
of it's intent My only point is what's allowed into the BL catalog
and how that's determined be better spelled out.

And to be sold here. Not only as a custom lot, but as officially recognized LEGO
for the secondary market. Which is another aspect of what the catalog offers
the marketplace

Then my first quote comes in from a buyer in Oregon (no sales tax). Would the
taxes field normally auto-populate or do you have to manually enter that? in
this case the field was blank and I left it blank.

AFAIK, there’s no sales tax in Oregon (or, at least, no obligation for BL to
collect it).

Yes correct, what I mean is, when it's a state that does collect, does it
fill in automatically or will I need to manually calculate it?

Yes, BLAutomatically fills in the tax needed to be collected.
