You could try, but i don't think 10% is going to be deemed excessive. I have
seen stores that charge a nominal amount for parts + a gigantic "handling
fee" shut down for fee avoidance (BL fees are not charged on shipping).

Instead of reporting them...
Why not just choose to purchase from stores where you are in agreement with their
Terms and Conditions.

Packaging material (carton or bubble wrap envelopes for ex.) are far from free.
Stickers, printer ink...
Fees aren't forbidden.
Of course, while $0.75 is super correct, 10% seems more to be an abuse of fees,
or a BrickLink fees avoidance.
This said off context, with the few info (and no number) you gave us.
Anyway, to report, use this form, put the username once, select a reason, explain

There really isn't a rule about fees I don't think. They could have
fat fingered it and meant to put in 1% unless that's what they say in their
terms. Do they have an long history of positive feedback?

Hi!
Dein Shop sieht von hier aus offen aus, das hat also schon einmal geklappt. Wenn
Du weitere Versandmoeglichkeiten dazufuegen willst (ins Ausland z.B.), dann musst
Du dazu im Menue von "My Store" auf "Edit Store" klicken, und
dann auf der linken Seite "Shipping". Dort siehst Du Deine Versandoptionen
und kannst weitere eingeben.
Viel Erfolg als Verkaeufer auf Bricklink!

If DeJoy has his way, that is exactly what will happen. Then his corporate buddies
can sweep in and pick up overblown federal contracts taking dollars out of the
general population and putting it into the pockets of shareholders; all the while
blaming the federal government for mismanagement of federal dollars, continuing
to reduce the middle class, raise prices, blame the population for their lack
of drive and work ethic, while rigging the system so only the 1% can succeed;
while the cult of personality waves the flag, lies with his hand on the good
book and distracts the gullible by spouting Putin's talking points and prosthelytizing

| Many of the changes the USPS has been making are necessary and, in some cases,
have improved service. Package processing during the holidays has been great
the last few years after the pandemic meltdown.
But this was a disaster, my USPS rep as usual had no answers. I see now not even
a US Senator could get his answers without dragging Mr. Dejoy Infront of a committee.
Can you image if UPS had this kind of transition? They’d be out of business.

You are the seller. Your customers are buyers.
You can't ship LEGO via First Class mail. This is just for normal mail that
runs through the roller sorting machines. You should turn off this shipping method.
Go through the Calculate a Price feature on USPS.com to learn the different shipping
methods and their rules and prices.
| I changed my shipping options to 2 methods that provide tracking information
- Ground Advantage for $5.95 and Priority which is $9.85.
|
These prices are high. Consider purchasing your postage online for a significant
discount.
|
Problem is buyers are still paying the $3.00 so every shipment I eat a min. of
$2.95. I'm sure it's something I haven't done, don't know how
to do, etc.
Suggestions?
|
Go through your shipping methods. Delete or disable the ones you don't want
to use. Don't trust any 'shared' shipping method on BrickLink. They
are not maintained or updated. You need to learn enough to create your own shipping
methods. I would suggest updating your terms as well.
Good luck,
~Jen

First Class parcels could be tracked (First Class was replaced by Ground Advantage).
You definitely shouldn't be sending anything as First Class letter mail now.

It looks like your First Class option is still active - you can't delete
it until all the orders you sent out with it are completed, cancelled, or purged;
but you can disable it.
By the way, please sign up for Pirate Ship so you can avail yourself of commercial
rates for postage. Ground Advantage starts at $3.79 for the commercial rate,
I believe.

IMHO it's a margin to the items weight only.
The base weight you *know* it, so you provide your exact number (with or without
a margin or an average).
|
That definitely would make the most sense, but above the adjustment fields, it
states “All adjustments will be combined to calculate total weight and dimension”,
which I interpret as base weight + item weight x weight margin. That doesn’t
make sense to me, but I can’t find anything on BL that clarifies this.
|
As items weight can vary A LOT depending color, year of production and whatever,
I wouldn't worry.
Simply provide an accurate base weight, then think at the margin to limit errors
you'd pay extra shipping for.
I use 5%, and I really don't / never care about extra shipping paid. Selling
is making an "average" profit, sometimes there are losses - just limit
them, but there will always be.

For ~£50 parcels I am still using RM but just the basic Tracked 48 version at
£3.39 (plus 20p extra as I often drop off at PO for convenience). When booking
online it still says that it has compensation to £150. Tracking is enough to
protect against "not delivered" claims and I feel insurance is probably
overkill for damage although it does mean I tend to package boxed sets so they
shouldn't be damaged. I find that decent enough for up to 2kg parcels and
never had an issue with late or lost deliveries with the parcel service (unlike
the large letter service).
I know Evri is slightly cheaper if dropping off light parcels, but there is no
convenient drop-off point for me.

You cannot have a minimum buy for shipping internationally and no minimum buy
for domestic. You can only have one minimum buy value for the store. If you try
to do it through the shipping settings, it will normally offer whatever default
shipping method you have when all other shipping methods fail. So if you only
have an international shipping option above a certain cart value, you will still
get orders below that, but that shipping option won't be offered. They are
still valid orders though, in that they reach your minimum buy for the store
(of zero, since you don't have one).

Yes but no - see my post:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1464775
I thought you could set up a fail safe international method with a minimum.
If it doesn't allow you to buy, then there's no shipping method, then
the buyer won't be able to buy.
I'm not sure, never tried, no minimum or such here, but it seems logical
to me?
|
I don't know now, maybe possible you can. I don't ship internationally
any more to try.
But whatever they do, the default shipping if everything else fails should have
the international shipping destinations turned off.

You don't say in which exact cases it doesn't work (country, amount...)
I would NOT set min buy for the shop, as you did I think.
I would set min buy to the Shipping Methods, but:
* don't miss one (may arrive if you've multiples)
* type decimals using "." dot and not a coma "," or simply
avoid decimals (like 20 instead of 20.00)

I have a shipping setup for Domestic (works perfect) and a shipping for International
(only 4 countries included). Only for the international one i have added a minimum-buy,
because with all the documents its just to much work otherwise.
I did not add the ,00 - bricklink does it automatically when saving. It's
also the correct way (mathematically) its always a , never a . so i guess this
should not be the issue and can't be changed manually anyway.
But thanks for your feedback.

I tried for more than 20€ it shows "via Europe Zone 1 (DE, IT, FR, AUS)"
For less than 20€ that seems to be a manual "via Request for invoice"
So the problem is in the via Request for invoice method?
You should have a manual method for local, and a manual one for other countries,
with a minimum.

Stock up while they’re still cheap.

Only on permanent stamps, the price increase still applies if you'll apply
old stamps.

| Hey guys
I just now started to sell outside my country after we got all the permits (yes,
you need some for some countries, like for what shipping material you need, at
least as a company you need it).
So anyhow, we added a min-buy for shipping outside our country, but it seems
not to be working.
How it's setup:
I have shipping for my country
I have additional shipping for 4 other countries that i want to ship to
The store has no min-buy
The shipping in my country has no min-buy
The shipping for the 4 additional countries does have a min-buy (20.00)
So i'm not sure what i do wrong and why its not working? Anyone any idea
or do i miss an important step?
Thanks for any feedback.

| I get about 5 orders a month. I only use Paypal and Paypal has a shipping option
which I use. I print the label on regular paper and tape it to the box or envelope.
Not elegant and probably not cost effective, but it works for me.

You print through the shipping software (I use pirate ship).
Any laser/inkjet printer can print on Avery labels (use 1/2 sheet labels or 4x6)
or I guess you can just tape the paper label to the package.
If you have a laser printer, I would not purchase a label printer until you are
shipping multiple orders a day. If you are using an ink jet printer, I would
purchase a label printer on day 1 (the cost per page is high with inkjet).
People will recommend various label printers, my experiences;
Dymo 4xl - my first label printer (replaced 2 times under warranty) - don't
buy
Zebra LP2844 - cheap (ebay) and reliable - mine is from 2001 - and it still works
great (changed print head once)
Zebra ZD420 - personal favorite (have 2) - wifi, bluetooth - finicky to setup
- workhorse and very fast
The Zebra printers can use generic labels, so the cost per page is very cheap.
