I have exactly the same problem. I wrote to the Help Desk in December 2023 and
received no response for months. After writing several times here in the forum,
I received the following reply directly by e-mail from ***********@LEGO.com:

"We noticed that you have a @me.com email address which may be the reasons
you are not getting our emails (some local and smaller domain providers have
BrickLink blacklisted). The solution would be to change your BrickLink email
address to a more common one, such as gmail for example. We can do that for you
as well if you send us the new email address, if you prefer."

So I should get a new e-mail address so that Bricklink (LEGO) can reply to me.
This is all just a bad joke.

Even you got a reply from that email, that one is personal information that can't
be shared here on the forum.

PS: Saved your reply quoted.

  Hello,

I have a problem

I'd like to be able to have offsite payments method at my store for my customers,
because for most of them the Pay Pal commission is too high

In help center I can read:

Offsite payment methods (including IBAN) are available only by special permission
by contacting the Help Desk. Normally a minimum of 10 positive selling reviews
(feedback) and 3 months of selling experience are required to enable offsite
payments. Exceptions may be made in countries which do not accept PayPal or other
common onsite methods.

So I've asked few times, I've written to help desk (I meet the requirements)
and there was no answer, never...

Am I doing something wrong? maybe I ask in wrong place?...

or maybe it's normal, that they don't answer or maybe I don't even
deserve an answer!

I'm sorry, I'm really frustrated.

Maybe you guys can tell me, what else should I do?

Seems you did it the correct way, turnaround time from the Help Desk is around
2 weeks, so maybe wait a bit longer?

Else you can try emailing them directly to bricklink@support.lego.com

ehh, the problem is, I wrote to help desk first time in last december...

but you gave me an email address!! at last

I preferred to write an e-mail, but I couldn't find the address anywhere
- thank you very much!

You can find it again on the Terms of Service https://www.bricklink.com/v3/terms_of_service.page

BrickLink's PayPal doesn't allow for guest checkout

Stripe is very fine for this (also).

Yes, yes they do. Ask me how I know.

I understand the cost/risk ratio can make it worth it

My sales have definitely not been harmed by adding Stripe, it has saved me about
$150 in payment processor fees in 30 months. I view it as they are paying me
to use their service. So my savings will cover any charge back fee if it ever
happens.

but Stripe just does not bring enough to the table to put up with their BS

This statement is true if your only experience using Stripe is through
Bricklink where Stripe is only minimally integrated. For other platforms, they
bring a helluva lot to the table.

Turns out, in my instance, the customer reported their card's unauthorized
use on another platform, unrelated to Lego, by their son. Therefore, their charge
with me is authorized and valid.

I believe Stripe was just being overly cautious when they notified me, I'm
still processing how I feel about this.

Do the refund, let the customer know, so they can call their card company, and
then try again?

If its legit, they shouldn't mind doing this.

Crystal

I agree with Crystal. It has not happened to me (with PayPal at least) but that
is how I would handle it. I would rather lose the order then lose the money on
top of the Lego in the order if it is scam.

Step 1:
Don't use Stripe

Step 2:
Use stripe

Step 3:
get a $20 chargeback fee even when they rule in your favor on a fraudulent chargeback.

Step 4:
realize that is a very rare case and that knowing Paypal they might do the same
but with stripe you can have a payment option that different customers can better
use increasing sales

Except paypal doesn't do the same. I understand the cost/risk ratio can make

for me, it took awhile to fully verify it (they kept asking for a certain document
which i kept sending but they kept rejecting until 1 day they accepted it after
like 15 attempts) so id just keep doing it but if it goes on for more then say
3 months then call them to figure it out

I am new to Bricklink as a seller. My store has been open for about a month.
I have had to verify my Paypal account twice with them. I can understand the
first time but the second time seemed to be a little extra. Does anyone know
if this is an ongoing thing with Paypal? I asked them if I was expected to verify
the account every 3 weeks and gat a generic response that did not answer my question.

Hi,

As said in the help page, https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=18 , you
need to have 10 positive selling feedbacks and 3 months of selling experience,
and then you need to contact Help Desk (https://www.bricklink.com/helpDesk.asp
) to have the option available in your store.

If BrickLink has to collect EU VAT or taxes from the order, then it must be paid
via PayPal Onsite or Stripe. This is because BrickLink is now a marketplace and
it is a legal requirement that BrickLink collects the required VAT or taxes and
remits them to the appropriate authority.

You should evaluate your situation as to whether taxes must be paid. You would
need to know in which cases BrickLink would have to collect VAT or taxes and
ensure that all such cases are handled through PayPal Onsite or Stripe.

Cheers ...

I wonder where I can put my IBAN details and mainly the choice between paypal
and IBAN is not well indicated.
If someone know something to how I manage that in my settings
Thank you in advance.

Hi,

No.
You can search by payment method (here: https://www.bricklink.com/storeFilter.asp
, bottom right), but:
1. Afterpay isn’t one of the “officially” recognized payment methods on BL (=
not on the list).
2. This list is useless.  It’s a remnant of the olden times.  Only pre-2017 stores
could use these payment methods, and the list is full of doublets and confusing
entries.

The seller needs to check their settings for payments. Try paying them direct
maybe.

Don't do this if any sales tax or VAT is due.

I'm really in need of help. I've tried reaching out to admin for the
past week but haven't heard anything. I am new to BrickLink and I am very
excited to be part of the community. I opened a store in November/ December and
set everything up according to the guided instructions.

I sold a few sets to 2 different clients with the same result: the system worked
fine in advising me of interest, the invoicing, the progress report and payment.
Except: that I don't actually know where the money went. I can't see
it in the account I connected my store to, nor PayPal, nor Stripe.

My clients confirmed that payment was made through the platform and that their
records show payment as 'PayPal'. I contacted PayPal and Stripe (just
in case) and neither has a record of my store being actively connected to their
services.

I would love to check the settings and parameters for payment in BrickLink but
it doesn't seem that this is possible. I don't want to disconnect the
method of payment in case I lose the ability to claim the money sent.

Help! I can't sell anymore until this if fixed. Thank you in advance to the

indeed but good times in hindsight. as for how to know you'd have to somehow
see which email you somehow connected (if this specific problem is indeed the

Thank you Crystal, it is somewhat reassuring to read that others have experienced
this. I'm hoping that this is the case. I'm hoping that someone from
BrickLink might help me with confirming the configuration and then, take it from
there. I'll probably have to be patient but won't be keen on selling
until this is clarified.

Also recently I had two of my paypal payments from Canada to the USA held, for

it out to see what would happen and it was over a month.

That said, you'd see it in your balance, but just be unable to use or withdraw
it.

This is a common question from new PP users. Chances are funds are simply being

OK, what may have happened is that the money left the buyers' accounts but
hasn't actually gotten anywhere (yet?) and may ultimately be returned to
their accounts. I know this happens when a buyer sends payment to an e-mail address
that doesn't exist in PP.

So I created said PayPal account and the money was in it. So that might be where

There's no bug I know of regarding "paid" but not...

1) Check your PayPal account, if it's not there it's not paid.

2) Ask buyer the PayPal transaction ID, and / or screen copy or email transferred
for the said payment. Search ID in PayPal.

If not, then they didn't pay, or didn't pay you.
But I don't think there's a bug there.

It’s in the merchant order id

Right now it just says "Bricklink Order" If

(Not sure it helps for that sorry)

Thank you!

If YOU paid with it it marks the orders as paid within a few minutes (usually
less) but if you SOMEONE paid you it takes like 3 or so days before they send
it along to your bank but in general it’s less then a week before it shows up
on your bank (new accounts might take longer when first starting)

My store policy is if there are issues with the order, I refund the money immediately,
don't even expect them to go thru PayPal. PayPal doesn't say much, just
shut me down.

That sounds like a much more serious issue than one complaint. Have you had multiple
claims made against you in the past, or one upheld after you cleared out the
account?

To my knowledge, I have not had any claims made against me in the past. My store
policy is to instantly refund the amount for any Lego pieces that the customer
is not satisfied with. I have not expected the customer to go thru PayPal. I
have never been informed by PayPal of any open claims.

Thanks for advice. Did call them, told me it will take "3-5 business days
to review".

Of course buyers can complain to PayPal if they paid that way. If there is an
open complaint then PayPal can withhold funds from you meaning that you cannot
withdraw them until the complaint is resolved.

Use family/friend option for this transfer" which I usually ignore but for
some reason whenever I go to pay (since its not onsite) it only lets me pay via
friends and family which I won't do as I have 0 protection...

That is not necessarily correct depending on how you initiate the payment. If
you pay by credit card through paypal, then you still have protection through
your credit card company. The seller has no seller protection whatsoever, as
it was not a business transaction and so no goods were exchanged for money. In
that case, you have protection and the seller (as your friend) has none.

There is a scam on PayPal based on it where an unknown person makes a F&F payment
to a random person, then contacts them to ask for it back but says PayPal is
blocking their account due to the mistake, so instead could they refund through
bank transfer. As soon as they get the refund, they claim credit card fraud and
the F&F payment gets reversed as there was no business transaction, just a payment
between known friends. An alternative version is using a stolen card, where again
the seller loses once the card holder realises. The person sending the bank transfer
thinks they are safe as it was a F&F transaction that cannot be reversed (when
reality is it can).

This is from their terms ...

Ineligible Items and Transactions

The following items or transactions are not eligible for PayPal Seller Protection:
:
:
Personal payments including a payment sent using PayPal's friend and family
functionality.

Yeah, I was reading their press release too: they don’t talk about business transactions.

So it's okay to pay via PayPal Friends & Family if the seller is in Ukraine?

Yes, its descriptions says “non-transactional” but that’s where you go when you
suspect fraud.

Smells fishy.

And there’s no sanctions against Ukraine.  Besides, if there were, I think everything
would be blocked.

I would report the store to BL and/or PP.

There is no automatic VAT collection by BrickLink for shipments to Turkiye so
any seller willing to accept an offsite payment (bank transfer, IBAN) should
be able to take your order. Our store, for example, does not specify bank transfer
or IBAN as payment options for international buyers but we can make arrangements
with buyers as long as they are not located in the USA/EU/Australia (countries/areas
for which BrickLink collects sales tax).
