A friend of us, US citizen living in France, who designs Sets with us is in US
as of right now.
He rented a camping car and is in the desert, just to see the eclipse!
Curiously, desert and camping car now makes me think to something else

That's us! We're in an RV, in a makeshift campground just south of Uvalde,
Texas. Had a beautiful evening last night. Dark clear skies and we managed to
see the comet (with binoculars). It was close to the horizon, and hard to pick
out, so we're hoping it will be clearer during the eclipse today as it will
be high above the horizon.
But. The forecast here is not good. We will probably just see clouds.  We're
keeping our fingers crossed. Luckily we have 10 days of driving throught desert
doing some hiking and mountain biking afterward, so we'll have some fun with
or without the eclipse.

What we learned during our adventurous years in the national park areas of Southern
Utah: set the target or goal out as motivation, but make (time and effort) the
journey itself, the real experience. So many of our backcountry treks
had amazing destinations set-out. But our memories (kids and I) when relived,
seem to always be of the journeys, the unplanned experiences.

What is sad is that in the town of Lakeview, where an EF3 tornado recently hit,
the hotels are making all the tornado victims leave the hotels so they can rent
the rooms for exorbitant prices to the tourists coming in for totality viewing.

The hotel owners may want to reconsider if they've been accepting in any
form, FEMA funds A lot of strings are attached to Fed money.

| I am in the path of totality! Yeah! They are warning us that traffic will be
bad and they are getting the hospitals ready for the fools who don't wear
the "glasses" and any traffic accidents due to the crowds. All the schools
will be closed and restaurants will close for 15 minutes to give all workers

Yeah, such a turnaround in total eclipses is historically unusual. The one prior
to your 2017 experience, was 38 years earlier in 1979. Making this one that much
more special, imho.
As to your acquired "x-ray vision": turn it inward to find out what's
gone wrong What I might do with that ability

Took me 40 years to see my first one. When I was younger I didn't think
about traveling for them and living in the midwest we'd always be clouded
in. So I drove down to Nashville'ish to sit directly on the centerline and
it was like getting punched in the soul.
We're lucky enough to have it skirt by just outside of Cincinnati this year
but I'll still drive a little further in to Indiana depending on the weather.
Still trying to figure out a kitschy sale promo as I'll leave the store
open but not be processing orders that day.

Yes dear Gambit57! Having written this threat, you opened yourself to being stoplisted
by potentially many sellers. Also, any seller who check your feedback history
(those high number of neutral and neg. feedbacks you left), might consider to
stoplist you. Forgetting about this, why do you need neutral fb to stores for
just this minor reason (that you could have requested beforehand)? Feedback should
help to distinguish professional sellers from bad ones. You leaving so many bad
feedbacks make good ones look bad, and disappoint them while they have done everything
correctly.
You can go to your "My activity" and check how many people have already
stoplisted you
I recommend you to:
- retract your neutral feedback via this link:
https://www.bricklink.com/feedbackDel.asp
and replace it with a positive one.
- contact the seller and explain you wrote on the forum and learnt you were wrong
so you removed your feedback and replaced it with a good one. I would say "my
apologies" and request them to remove their neg. feedback too. I think they
would do that.
- I would even recommend you to contact Bricklink's help desk and request
them to remove all the bad feedbacks you left for the number of baggies they
used.

I cannot see LEGO banning someone selling on bricklink for using a small number
of bags with 100 parts in each, when this is how LEGO sells its products. Especially
now they are trying to cut down on plastic waste, banning someone that is trying
to be more environmentally conscious is very unlikely.

| 100 parts in 2 bags is a very normal practise. Most customers prefer fewer bags.
If you want lots of bags I’d recommend asking the seller as most prefer to use
as few bags as possible as depending where you live they arnt the cheapest

This is the risk when you leave neutral or negative feedback. Both negatively
impact the "praise" for the store. Your feedback was actually mostly
positive "fast and accurate" but then you mentioned the other part and
left a neutral. So they took a ding on their praise for what's realistically
a positive review. As a store that can be infuriating.

Because they're a good store. There are other stores with 100+ Neutrals
and 10+ Negatives. This also represents less than .25% of their overall feedback,
so by and large they are a good store.

Yes, you can. And if its going to be many years before you have a German address
you need to find a US bank that will allow foreign currency accounts. Its common
here to have Euro and USD accounts for holiday spending etc linked to a debit
card for International payments. Try Wise or Revolut*, but make sure you check
they have full banking licenses in your jurisdiction and aren't just light
regulated online payment providers.

Anyway, who cares?
My own point was that I was really surprised to realize / understand in a video
that English (which is almost my favorite language, I've almost never seen
a video in French), is so much derived from french or latin...
And yes, we're happy (not proud?) to have latin and greek as base of our
language. It links us with a big part of the History - I guess, as History and
such aren't my domain, sorry.
