I am going to close down my store and have approximately 5,175 pieces in 2,339
lots that I will be selling. Plus some bulk that I have not sorted and inventoried
yet. It is all minifig. Please contact me if anyone is interested.

Well, apparently, it’s BL’s fault to let phishers claim they are BrickLink, because
they are like “hawkers out front of your brick-and-mortar shop all day handing
out flyers to customers” and that you can chase by waving your broom in their
general direction 🤷‍♂️

That comment seems to have gotten gotten under your skin. Why not reply to the
person who made it rather than griping about it to someone else almost a week
later? Unfortunately, as you know, you have misrepresented what I said. That
comment was about forum spammers, not phishers. You are usually so pedantic;
I’m surprised you would overlook such an important distinction.🤷‍♂️

I am astonished that people could think they would never fall for any type of
scam, especially those that don’t even operate a store here. Most people are
vigilant, but being constantly on guard leads to fatigue. Bad actors only have
to be successful ONCE. It costs them next to nothing to make thousands upon
thousands of attempts, and they will catch you the one time your guard slips
a little. But we have to be successful against EVERY attempt they make and it
costs us of time and energy to do that.

It’s easy to blame the victim until you become one. A major part of being vigilant
is being humble enough to recognize that you too could become a victim.

After reading about these, I checked my spam folder and Google has flagged them
all as spam and removed them from the inbox.

There maybe things I (we) don't care for about Google but they do an excellent
job of screening junk e-mail.

Once again this precision: the website wasn’t hacked/breached.  Some accounts
were.

And there’s only very few of you who are receiving these e-mails.
(Not saying it’s not dangerous or at least annoying.  Just trying to put it in
perspective.)

Were the accounts that were breached notified that they were?

Well, if the account had suspicious activity, then BL saw them, blocked them,
and contacted the real owners.  Not necessarily easy to do for some of them who
had their e-mail compromised too (same password 🙄), but I know BL also tried
other ways and managed to reach and verify them.

Tu peux ajouter ces frais dans tes settings avant pour que ça se fait automatiquement

It’s nice to get Lego spam instead of the usual…

Single Naked Barbie’s are available in your area
Car warranties
Best Buy geek squad
Your _______ bank account is in trouble
Someone logged into your Netflix account
Someone logged into your Amazon account
Someone bought naked barbies on your Amazon account to Netflix and chill with
Etc.

It’s a simple test for people to learn to read and comprehend before they click.

Emails can be blocked from the sender and the ISP they are sending from by going
to your email online and choosing to block them. It will not block your legitimate
Bricklink emails because you are blocking the spam ones only.

I just block those pesky spam emails and move on with my life. Most of us have
been with Bricklink long enough that we can see fake emails from good ones and
if questions then ask and be sure to use the 2 part Authentication.

Also if you feel you have been compromised then change your password immediately!

Seems almost like they are trying to frame Canada

All the messages say "somewhere near Canada"

The scammers must not like Canada a whole lot

I haven't received a single phishing email, so the phisher is definitely
targeting certain users.

Already voted yes, but we both know that even if enough users vote yes, will
they even implement the category.

Bri

It's a good question, Brian.

We've had three or four suggestions implemented over the years. The latest
of ours was in response to another topic foisted upon the membership:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1244764

I fight to keep this particular feature alive here on BL, and have for years.
Though I'll not stop fighting for the idea of membership involvement, I will
lose the battle if the idea is not maintained and kept strong within the membership
itself. And that idea can't endure if our voices are not loud enough to be
heard at distance This feature along with the BL catalog, are at the focal
point of this vital sentiment that joins admin with membership, imho.
