Your overall praise rating is 98.20% which is rather low for a seller with 5825
orders.
|
Orders do not equal feedback. They have 2550 feedback of which 46 are non positive.
|
And hereby once again the argument why we need a modern kudo/appraisal/scoring/review-system.....

| Oke
XML is not supported on that page (it's stupid I know...)
You need to go here:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/upload.page?utm_content=subnav
Copy the XML file in a texteditor
And delete the first line
Copy the entire text into the text area of this page (see pic)
Proceed following the onscreen instructions.

| Did you use a download option on the BL site?
Or from another site?
If the first: where from / what page on the site?
If the second: use BrickStore to import it and have it correct the changes automatically.
Works fine but not sure that's your problem here....

| It's Q1 again and the annual income tax review is here again ....
On the Dutch tax office website it says the following for operators like BL:
The collection and verification requirements on sellers already registered
on the platform as of 1 January 2023 [so-called "existing sellers"] must
be completed by 31 December 2024. You must report information on these sellers
by 31 January 2025.
This means for sellers already active prior to 1-1-2023, the sales data has to
be shared before 31-1-2025 and the verification data needs to be collected by
BL before 31-12-2024.
Right?
Some questions arise and I have not found the answers on the forum (tax, DAC7
etc.) or in the Terms of BL:
1) How can one check what data BL has passed onto the different national governmental
tax offices in the EU over FY2023? A company that processes personal digital
data has to provide information to these persons regarding what data was shared
with what other agencies and how this data is stored (AVG in The Netherlands).
2) When will BL start collecting the verification data (passport copies?)?
3) Is the sales value balanced with the value of purchases?
Any help is appreciated.

| I know MOST errors people report are their own fault due to changes they make.
(made some myself over the years for sure )
I know only a VERY FEW errors people report are not their own fault and DO happen....
I know that downloading an inventory CAN be helpful to find errors made by people.
Because of the merge in operation (and that will take some months I understand!)
we are forced to increase the monitoring of the inventory to CHECK nothing strange
DOES happen to the parts in store.
That's what both of you (SylvainLS and 1001bricks) suggest to do IN ORDER
to be able to PROOF it's not the users' error. That's the ridiculous
part of the response both of you add to the discussion.
And because the merging will be a process that's happening on a daily basis,
sellers are 'forced' to do these downloads and checks on a daily basis?
We are not paid to do these checks, every day. I think we pay the fees in order
NOT to be forced to do these checks on a daily basis.....

| Uploading the original XML's will default into the same errors you reported.
Downloading the XML's NOW from Rebrickable, fixes this .
Apparently there's a realtime check when the XML's are generated. That's
nice.
So you need to re-download your XMLS .
Opening old XML's in BrickStore will start a migration from the old to the
new ID's (see pic).

(not sure if it exists, but will you get my point!). At least our national Postal

So the analogy is a false one IMO, as Bricklink (TLG) does sell 1960 bricks and
not only new ones.
Check stampword dot com for instance on stamps, or dive into the AFOS (Adult
Fans Of Stamps) community and you will seek geeks that look for different teethings
on the same stamp.
Same goes here, so if it would be true analogy, follow the catalogue like AFOS
and leave the variants as is. Even if there a just 100 AFOLS who are keen on
this, leave it. Do not have it changed because 'it's easier'.
Effort brings skills. Put some effort in getting around, understanding the catalogue

| I get that, and I am definitly NOT a coder/programmer....
I was more thinking of a specific webpage attached to your inventory where at
the back the 4000+ lines of items that will be affected are used to filter ones
inventory.
So that would make a subset (out of your complete inv) and there it can be manually
edited.
Or even better:
- add the 'optional text to be added to the lot' to that page in the
script
- add a yes/no button to it
- sellers can click each filtered lots to their liking.
That would be some nice feature and customer service !

No matter what.
This Wednesday I (we?) received a BL message regarding the upcoming change.
With a link to a Help Page. Nice.
Until I clicked it....
If a seller wants to 'add a short line of text' for each lot affected,
sellers need to enterl more than 4000 numbers to check IF they are in their inventory.
And than manually editing the NOTE field.
This will take every seller hours of entering numbers, checking the results,
editing note-fields en checking for the edits to be correctly made.
Urgent request: can BL please provide a script or simple change page where
this actions can be (partially) automated?
Question for Admin_Russell: what happens exactly with my affected inventory entries
when nothing is changed on the sellers end?

| Although the effort is praise worthy, I am not sure what would happen if we do
NOT change anything.
I expect no decrease in accessabilitiy, functionality, security etc.
On the otherhand, executing the changes proposed, will probably affect the site
in one ore more ways that is not desirable. Past changes have been numerous in
effecting the system in ways no one expected. I do not want that to happen again.
Can you guarantee it won't?
So, if the current way things are
- didn't kill somebody
- didn't chase new members away
- didn't downed sales
- didn't broke the system
- didn't triggered law suits
why change it in the first place?
If it ain't broke, there's no need to fix anything!
@Russell, you started this outreaching post with:
As a platform, we have decided to take a hard look at some of the mold variants
that we are currently asking you to recognize. For sellers, more variants means
extra sorting and extra work while pulling orders, plus the issues that arise
from variant misunderstandings.
For buyers, excess variants mean that it's harder to assemble a wanted list,
find stores, and ultimately obtain the parts you are looking for.
The platform can not decide. The people using, running the platform
can. But as other stated, why isn't the input form the meetings weighed in
properly?
How many sellers are complaining about the 'extra work'? If you
organize your stock properly, it is no more work. So get your stock
organized people! ('extra work'?)
And a misunderstanding is a learning opportunity for a buyer as much for the
seller. So do not make it sound like it is a punishment ('issues'?).
How many buyers have entered complaints about variants? It's a community
for X sake! Sellers educate new members. It's part of our 'job' here.
And yes, some effort is required to obtain skills; that goes for every new environment
one steps into. No pain no gain.
I object fully for these changes to be made.
