Was thinking more about the doomed sets in the unreleased catagory, and went
for a second look.

I clicked on a item and noticed that the banner on the top said, "This Item
was Likely Not Released".

Key word for me "LIKELY".
How are we supposed to know for sure if a item was not released if no one can
put one up for sale?!?

So my request is that you allow sellers to sell the item, but only in the conditions
of sealed or new.

If anyone has one of the unreleased items and would like to list it for sale,
they can inform us. Then we'll look into it and remove the "not released"
flag if necessary.

Since there isn't anything here that we can do from the catalog side regarding
the unreleased items (we can neither change the wording nor the listing policy),
I have moved this thread to "General".

Correct. To keep things simple and manageable we don't include alternate
hair pieces (or helmets) in minifigures, but since most sellers part out complete
sets, it is usually not very difficult to find a store that has both the minifigure
and the alternate parts or accessories for sale.

Comments from Submitter:
This fig is missing a considerable number of parts that make her complete. Her hair and full components that complete her suit. Maybe she needs a variant on BL like Ironman sh497as?

For catalog purposes, minifigures are considered complete once the hand-held
accessories are added. In this case, the back attachments also start with a new
building sequence, so even without the hand-held items the figure would be complete
on page 29:
https://www.lego.com/cdn/product-assets/product.bi.core.pdf/6316461.pdf

Therefore these requests cannot be accepted.

Yes. I bought several of these new. To save space, I took the sealed baggies
out of the boxes and put them into a zip lock bag. Several years ago I started
going through my stored collection and found the zip lock bag. I took photos
of the sealed baggies before I opened them and listed the pieces for sale. The
193b2 helmets I have for sale in my shop came from these sets. I do know that
I did not buy these when the set was first released, so maybe the helmet was
changed in subsequent production runs.

Excellent, thanks!

You can submit it to the catalog as 3626bpb0808, but it will only have a separate
entry for a short period of time because minifigure heads with hollow studs and
blocked open studs will be merged soon.

I'd suggest listing it under the existing entry with a note that it is the
blocked open stud version.

Why are you not allowed to inventory it?

We decided some time ago that we don't accept inventories for unreleased
sets anymore, mainly because it will never be possible to check such an inventory
against the actual set contents. Moreover, BrickLink inventories should show
the contents of an original set whenever possible, and sets that don't exist
cannot have any contents.

Another problem is that the inventory system does not differentiate between released
and unreleased sets. For example, this page says the sand blue 4x4 dish came
in two sets, but that is not true as one of the two sets was not released. But
you won't notice it unless you click on that set.
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=3960&colorID=55&in=A

Existing inventories for unreleased items have been grandfathered in because
members have put work into them.

Approved, thank you for the detailed information.

Minifig No: njo886 Name: Imperium Hunter
*
njo886 (Inv) Imperium Hunter
Minifigures: NINJAGO: Dragons Rising Season 1
I went with "Imperium Hunter" for now, as that name is mentioned in the
official book description and there is no other minifigure with the exact same
name at the moment. I wish Ninjago books and magazines would just use the known
minifigures from sets instead of creating their own characters.

In Catalog, jul9000 writes:
  Hello,

This is regarding my new minifigure submission (njo884x; althought I'm not
the one who added the "x" ).

The minifigure was included in "b24njo02pl". The Polish title and multiple
mentions inside the book suggest a "hunter", although the English publisher
site (https://www.ameet.eu/book/lego-ninjagoempire-warrior/) mentions the following
names:
- "Imperium Warrior" (on the cover)
- "Imperium Hunter" (in the description)
- "Dragon Hunter no 29" (multiple mentions inside the book, can also
be found among book pictures on publisher's site)

Parts wise:
- torso, legs, head and helmet are the same as in njo815 ("Imperium Claw
General" )
- the only difference between this minifigure and njo815 is the lack of "Black
Minifigure Armor Shoulder Pads Spiked with Stud on Back"
- a "Imperium Claw Hunter" (njo817) is already known, but has different
set of torso, legs and helmet

Please advise how to correctly add this minifigure.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best,

The set is from my childhood. I'm sure about 4623 because there was no other
set with a white 4623 in my childhood LEGO box, but unfortunately I don't
have the original string anymore.

2110 Parts, 2021

* Add 1 Part bb1277c01 Light Bluish Gray Electric Battery Box Powered Up Bluetooth Hub with Dark Bluish Gray Bottom - Screw Opening (Alternate) (match ID 2)

Comments from Submitter:
Later sets have hubs with screw on covers

This set was redesigned when they replaced the hub, so your request to add the
alternate hub can only be accepted along with further changes to reflect that
redesign. Do you own this set with the new hub yourself?

In any case, the hub with clip cover was included in early copies of the set,
so the request to remove that one from the inventory cannot be accepted.

I do not have the set myself, I was trying to add it as an alternative but wasn't
having any success in making the change to the existing part, it would only allow
me to delete it. Thinking now would I have to delete it as existing and add it
again as an alternate (regular) as well as adding the screw type as an alternate.
I haven't filed a change request in many years so struggling with it.

Not a problem, we can always fix missing match ID numbers.

I made a purchase of 6 hubs with clips but the seller has sent me 6 with screws
and is telling me I made a mistake in ordering the wrong part as he has checked
his stock to the sets inventory so he is right, even though it is not the part
I ordered.

I'm sorry about the wrong delivery, but it is solely the seller's responsibility
to list and ship parts correctly. We use sealed sets to create the inventories
for new sets at the time when they are released, but there is no easy way for
us to check that the inventory is correct for all later copies of a set, as we
don't know if and when a set might get a redesign or when the redesigned
version might hit the shelves. Due to this (and for some other reasons) you'll
find this disclaimer at the bottom of every inventory page: "BrickLink does
not guarantee an inventory to be correct and therefore an inventory should be
only used as a guide."

I'll leave this request open as a reminder that the inventory must be updated
to reflect the redesign. Please give us some time to look into it.

Please add the Co-Brand Blue Ocean to these sets:

[...]

Thank you for checking all of these, but we actually already knew that all magazine
sets carry the Blue Ocean logo or name.

However, we don't add the co-brand Blue Ocean to them because there are also
other distributors mentioned on the back of those sets, and they differ depending
on the theme and which magazines are published by which distributors (and that
can also change over time). Checking and adding the distributors for all of the
magazine sets in the catalog and every new magazine set would be a massive amount
of work, while that information is probably not really interesting or important
for more than 99% of all users.
Additionally, many magazine sets already have a co-brand (like Marvel, DC, Disney,
etc.) and it is not possible to add multiple co-brands through the set submission
form, so for many future magazine sets it would always be up to us to add the
additional co-brand(s). And as long as we can barely keep up with new regular
set inventories and new parts, it's not the best idea to increase our own
workload permanently.

From the current online instructions (https://www.lego.com/cdn/product-assets/product.bi.core.pdf/6310950.pdf), there are:
- 4 on step 69
- 6 on step 93
- 1 on step 356

And no other I can find.

The inventory page at the end does list 12 though.

This is an error in the instructions. Two parts are needed in step 356:

I remembered an old thread

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1408010

and that these parts are being merged

For reference the old version 30151a (blocked open stud) along with (presumably)
some versions of 30151b are able to hold a connection with

Part No: 27148pb01 Name: Minifigure Armor Breastplate with Layered Shoulder Protection with Black Bow Tie Pattern
*
27148pb01 Minifigure Armor Breastplate with Layered Shoulder Protection with Black Bow Tie Pattern

*
27148pb02 Minifigure Armor Breastplate with Layered Shoulder Protection with Medium Azure Round Crystal and Pressure Gauge on Silver Background Pattern
Parts: Minifigure, Body Wear {Medium Blue}
Meanwhile multiple of 30151b (hollow stud)
have no connection and falls right off making it not usable for the figure.

Can you check which numbers are molded into the parts that fall of/don't
fall of?
I don't own any 27148* so can't check the connection myself but I have
found four dome top versions which were released in this order:
- Blocked open stud (no number)
- Hollow stud with number 30151
- Hollow stud with number 26415
- Hollow stud with number 38708

26415 and 38708 have tiny inside reinforcements right where the part connects
to the armor, so I guess that is why it doesn't fall off. But based on my
findings I would assume the blocked open stud version would have no connection,
also.

Should this be looked into more before they are merged? it is a functional difference
used in official lego sets.

Ive confirmed this 100% with parts on hand and would include pictures but I dont
exactly know how to include pictures of a part falling off.

What about a video?

"Blocked" and "Vented" are being merged into "Hollow".
After all of the merges, there will be only three stud types in the catalog ["Solid",
"Hollow", and "Open"] instead of five.

To clarify things a bit, the current "Hollow" (3626c) and "Vented"
(28621) will be merged into "Blocked Open" (3626b). Once that is done,
"Blocked Open" will be renamed to "Hollow".

In other words, this entry will re retained, but will be called "Hollow Stud"
in the future:

Rebrickable is correct.

Well, not completely correct if 3803 and 48723 are functionally different

Part 48723 is no longer in production and has been replaced
with 68888 and 3803. 48723 has an axle hole on one side and a pin hole on the
other side. Most sets require the axle hole, so 68888 can be used as an alternate
part. But in set 71043 the pin hole is needed, therefore later copies of that
set probably come with 3803. Maybe that is already the case, but we need proof
from a sealed set before we can add the alternate part.

Understood but what I found strange is that:

1. It’s already in the catalogue while it’s not in any set yet.  But then Stellar
is saying it’s in PaB… but then a second question arises: why is it not in

Set No: pab2023 Name: Pick-a-Brick (PaB) 2023 Parts
*
pab2023-1 (Inv) Pick-a-Brick (PaB) 2023 Parts
61 Parts, 2023
Sets: LEGO Brand
Marked for Deletion
?  Too late?  And it’s still too early for

Set No: pab2024 Name: Pick-a-Brick (PaB) 2024 Parts
*
pab2024-1 (Inv) Pick-a-Brick (PaB) 2024 Parts
28 Parts, 2024
Sets: LEGO Brand
Marked for Deletion
?

We just hadn't thought about adding it to the PaB sets because it was quite
obvious that it will show up in 71043 sooner or later.

2. It has disappeared from Brickset.  But then it’s a question for Brickset I
guess

I don't think it has been added to Brickset yet. I don't know how exactly

The part has been added to the catalogue but is not in any set.

— Brickset doesn’t have it anymore.
“Anymore” because, obviously, the BL image is a render from LEGO, and Rebrickable
has a link to its (now non-existent) page on Brickset.
— Rebrickable has it as an alternate for

— LDraw has a 3D model.
— I think I remember it being shown on some site (NewElementary?) but I can’t
find it.

Cancelled? Postponed?

Rebrickable is correct.

Comments from Submitter:
There were 2 different skulls in the sealed set. The one used in the minifig was 3626bpx115 as inventorized but the loose one was the one I added.

The inventory already includes two different skulls. The minifigure has 3626bpb0001
and the loose head is 3626bpx115.

There is plenty of evidence that 3942b was only used around 1992/1993.

In Help, belokan writes:
  Hello

I'm getting more and more orders with "Ask for a quote (backup method)"
as shipping method. They all come from new users, and they all are for just one
cheap item.
I'm a EU seller, and they all come from outside of EU buyers. I only have
auto checkout methods for outside of EU with a €15 minimum buy.

The items in these orders are compatible with auto checkout.

I usually just send a message explaining that the order is under the minimum
buy and offer to keep order open for the buyer to add more items or to cancel
the order. Never got any reply. Then I send a 2d message warning that I will
cancel the order the next day. No reply either, I generally cancel and move on.

Today, one of these buyers immediately placed back the order with the same item,
again with backup method, then sent a message asking why the order was cancelled.
I don't know how they managed to use that backup method once again?! Now
that person does not want to hear about minimum buy and just wants me to send
the item whatever the fees and shipping cost...

Does anybody know how I can stop these orders from being placed in my shop?

Do you have "Backup for Instant Checkout" enabled on your store management
page? If yes, that is where your "Ask for a quote (backup method)" orders
are coming from.

Comments from Submitter:
This set only contains 2 paddles : 1 for the wind-pole and 1 for the minifig (that can be put on the red cart).

In addition to the box art (thanks Reza), there are also two paddles for the
minifigure shown in the instructions. Therefore this request cannot be accepted.

Set No: 71411 Name: The Mighty Bowser
*
71411-1 (Inv) The Mighty Bowser
2807 Parts, 2022
Sets: Super Mario: Sculptures

And please remove parts for bowser from the set inventory.

This is a brick built sculpture of Mighty Bowser who is not a figure in this
set.

I vote to keep the Mighty Bowser sculpture as is.

It might be possible to add the parts to complete Mighty Bowser as a separate
alternate entry, but the Catalog Admins currently have plenty of work to do on
their list of changes to be reviewed, so it will be some time before something
like this gets added.

Sellers who are only interested in breaking the parts and do not want to sell
Mighty Bowser as a separate set of parts will benefit if it is left as is, with
the possibility of an alternate entry for his parts, but would complicate things
if they had to break the figure in order to list his parts without listing them
as a separate figure.

Cheers ...

ghyde

I don’t know. The super mario line has many figures that are brick built for
example...

Minifig No: mar0002 Name: Bowser - Tan Tile, Round 1 x 1 Quarter on Nose
*
mar0002 (Inv) Bowser - Tan Tile, Round 1 x 1 Quarter on Nose
Minifigures: Super Mario

This figure consists of almost 150 parts!

and the one from that set likely consists of 1000-1500 parts... big difference

I guess, but where do we draw the line?

There might be a guideline somewhere

Yep. #10 here:
https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=71#doNotAdd

but I dont know if I've ever seen a
figure exceed 200ish parts otherwise every single buildable r2-d2 set ever released
would have the figure's cataglouged but considering other than the standard
versions (and slightly modified ones) none in the past like 20 years have been
added we know there is a limit
