Seriously? Light trans-black would have been a more appropriate identifier as
there is a noticeable difference, however there is nothing brown about this color
that we are now calling trans-brown.

Once you compare them side by side, like the one shown in the link posted by
1001bricks, you can see that old trans brown is very accurate.

I went into my local Lego store today and noticed that Pick-A-Brick wall large
containers (boxes) are now $17.99. That's a two dollar increase from the
previous price of $15.99.

Prices have gone up but the selection of parts have gone down (at least in our
area where 3 Lego stores are relatively close).

The good news is that the cardboard boxes they now use hold just as much as the
cups. We purchased one and filled it with 1x1 round plates then poured them into
a PAB cup and found that hold about the same amount maybe with the box holding
just a smidge more. The advantage with the box being rectangular instead of round
means that they are better for stacking square parts like plates or door frames.
And they are definitely more gooder then worser for the environmenta.

Thanks for chiming in but you actually didn't read the full context of my
own post either as it was directed towards yorbrick not the OP. I already stated
that I didn't fully approve of stacked bricks and so I don't take issue
with whatever complaints the op has over how they received their parts. It's
more directed at Yorbricks overly pedantic "stacking for 5 seconds" comment
along with his many other past comments where he obsessively appears to enjoy
correcting people and re-iterating the rules back to them regardless of how necessary/minor
the subject matter!

Ah, I see. Makes more sense.

1) Buyer leaves positive feedback, but doesn’t change the order status from “Shipped”
2) Buyer leaves positive feedback and changes the status to “Received” thinking
that’s it. Fairly common, actually.
3) Buyer contacts seller thanking them for the LEGO and offers praise of service
and/or product, without changing the status from “Shipped” or “Received”.
4) Buyer and seller are in communication over an order issue, which concludes
with the buyer expressing complete satisfaction with the transaction, again without
bothering to change the status.

In short, there's a good many LEGO fans that simply don’t know, don’t
care or don’t care to know about 'order status duties’ Many just wish to
buy LEGO and that’s it. Which is fine. The changing of order status by the seller
just helps a vendor to clean things up a bit, to stay organized.

Good points. I think that after 30 days if a buyer has not changed the order
status to "Complete" then they probably will fall under the category
'dont care' and will not care if the seller changes the status to complete.

Then the moderators could release posts to the public once they see they are
not spam. It would be great if they could then have control to, in a sense, "Unlock"

if I want to buy a variant of a piece I should receive that specific piece, once
I pay. I just hope Bricklink stores won't use this as an excuse to jack up
prices if they do list their pieces properly.

How will you define the variants you want if they are no longer defined here?

Exactly! Shoppers will be getting what they ordered and paid for, they just wont
be able to easily shop for different variants of a particular piece unless they
shop at stores that specify that they actually sorting out different variants
and selling them separately, thus, shoppers will still get what they pay for.
I say this only because shoppers stating that they want what they pay for is
just not an accurate analogy for this topic.

Just to be clear, did you send any messages thru BrickLink? The reason I ask
is because some sellers dont respond to emails but will respond to BrickLink

Jim

A very justified question my friend, of course I did, it was my first method
of contact with the seller and I have the emails from BrickLink to prove it.
And then I sent emails and then message and email translated in his language
in case he only accepts these. I’m starting to feel bad because maybe he has
some serious problems in real life and I’m concerned about my hobby, but I need
to protect myself somehow nevertheless, right?

I agree with everyone else to start a NSS followed by a PayPal claim. I was just
making sure you contacted him thru BrickLink and not just thru email before starting
the NSS.

The only minor criticism is that some connections were a little loose, however

TL;DR: The version doesn't matter - the datacenter hosting the server with
the database has routing problems. Nothing I can do about it, but should hopefully
be up and running again shortly.

Thanks for letting us know and as a side note: I just wanted to say THANK YOU
SO VERY MUCH!!! Thank you for keeping BrickStore up and running and constantly
making it better by adding more features. I really love and appreciate this software
(especially being able to update Remarks without needing to change anything else).
I cant imaging having a store on BrickLink without it.

To top it all off you offer it free of charge but for anyone interested, on BrickStore's
GitHub page there is a "Sponsor" link where we can help to keep BrickStore
going.

Again, thanks for keeping BrickStore going. Jim.

Thank you so much for your help! As we are both from New Jersey, would you be
able to send your shipping price table so I can gauge what prices are normal?
If you can, send it through my email. Thank you again

You can go to our store and look at our store terms, this will give you a good
idea of what to charge. You can copy and paste anything you want from our store
terms, we wont mind.

Another thing you should try is putting all your parts on sale at around 10 to
15% off. I noticed that all your prices are at the 6 month sales average which
is a good place to start but for a small starting store I think putting your
parts up at 10 to 15% off may really help. I know the closer we get to putting
our parts at 15% off the 6 month sales average the more sales our store receives.

What would be your proposal for BL?

What action can I take if he is already on my stoplist?

Well of course close all stores except ours!

But seriously. I know where your coming from because it really comes down to
where do you draw the line? Everyone will have a differing opinion on where that
line should be and once the line is drawn what happens when you, me, or anyone
else crosses that threshold by just one negative? No one would would want their
store to be closed down because of just that one feedback that causes us to cross
that threshold.

But when a store has at least a few thousand feedbacks for selling and 10% or
more of them are negative / neutrals, maybe an actual percentage should not automatically
close down their store but I think it would be good for BrickLink to examine
stores with a high percentage of bad feedbacks and first maybe give them a warning
to clean up their act and if after a certain period of time they dont change
then BL should consider further consequences.

We have had our share of neutral and negative feedbacks - at total of 26 - but
how are some stores still allowed to do business? There is a store in Germany
with around 8850 total feedbacks but out of his 7151 feedbacks for selling he
has 393 negative / neutrals. This past year alone he has 503 positive but 48
negative / neutrals - that is almost 10%!! That means 1 out of every 10 customers
are getting bad service and how many more are getting bad service but are afraid
to leave a negative feedback out of fear of getting retaliatory feedback.

Sometimes when I stumble across a store with a really bad reputation, like the
one above, I am surprised that they are still allowed to keep their selling status.

Just a rant.

I cannot check what the seller has done until I have the package. And as a private

Any advice welcome, thanks.

Maybe this is the solution:
You told the seller to add a VAT invoice.
Maybe it would have been better to ask for "The" VAT invoice.
So just ask your seller to download the Invoice on top of his order page. (see
example)
Let him send it electronicaly to you, you can send it to the customs.

I hope this helps.
Please let us know if this is good

The Order Summery line also has an "IOSS No" link for orders that require
the IOSS number to be electronically transmitted when purchasing postage online.

Here is what the popup window shows when you click on the link:

The IOSS link shows the following info in a popup window when opened:

BrickLink IOSS number: XXXXXXXXXXX

You must share BrickLink’s IOSS number directly with your shipping carrier so
that the shipping carrier can submit this information electronically. This helps
to ensure that the buyer will not be charged VAT twice.

You MUST NOT use BrickLink’s IOSS number for any other purpose and NEVER write
this number on your packages.

Note: Always double-check this process with your local shipping carrier as the
process may vary. Some shipping carriers cannot accept or submit IOSS numbers
in post office locations, so you may only be able to do this online. If your
carrier cannot transmit our IOSS number electronically, the buyer could be charged
VAT a second time.

Visit the EU marketplace help page to learn more about the IOSS number.

As far as I know the IOSS link will always show up on orders that require the
IOSS number.
