Every time I need to click the same parameters for my search. Would be so easy
if you could save that a a default or something.
Suggestion: Option to save search criteria.

| Sure would be great if I could just download a wishlist and then re-upload it
to my collection! Not sure if the latter has comments allowing me to keep track
of whether I have built the set or not, but still. Seems odd that the collection
upload won't recognise the downloaded wishlist XML regardless of how many
fields I remove from it. Just keeps giving me "could not find in catalog"
for all sets, whether xxxx-1 or xxxx.

| So there's been some heated discussion about the recent decision to consolidate
certain Bricklink part entries. For example, the merger of certain parts with
open studs and parts with blocked studs. Much has been said about the fact that
people rely on Bricklink as a catalog as well as a marketplace, and how the removal
of this information is detrimental to the future success of the LEGO hobby. But
I think what has been missing from this conversation is a reasonable alternative
to the current status quo. Instead of simply deleting the nuanced information
that has been carefully curated over decades by an army of dedicated volunteers,
I have an alternate suggestion:
Go ahead and consolidate part entries. Do it. Even the ones with stickers. Put
'em all in one place. 2x3 Slope? One entry. But wait! What's this? A
drop-down menu! This one lets users look at the many different colors that the
part comes in. And Hark! I spy another drop-down menu beside the first! This
one seems to list the different mold variants! Avast me hearties! A third drop-down
menu! With the different stickered and printed variants! That's right--I'm
proposing treating mold variants, printed variants, and stickered variants in
the same way that colors are currently handled.
Each drop-down menu would be filtered according to the selection made in the
other two drop-down menus. For example, suppose a part came in both a glossy
and a matte finish. However, the sand-blue version of the part only ever came
in the matte finish. So when a user selects "Sand Blue" from the part's
Color drop-down menu, the Mold drop-down menu would automatically filter to only
include the Matte option. Perhaps the same part also came in the color green,
with both Gloss and Matte mold variants. Then when selecting "Green"
from the Color drop-down munu, the user would still have the choice of selecting
either Gloss or Matte from the Mold drop-down menu.
Of course, each menu would have an "undetermined" option, which would
be the default option in order to allow sellers and buyers ease of use.
My point is that the solution to this catalog complexity is not the removal of
crucial information. There is a better way, and I believe the incredible Bricklink
team has the opportunity to simultaneously simplify the user experience while
retaining the nuance that has made Bricklink the defacto LEGO parts catalog for
so many wonderful years.
Am I crazy, or is there room for compromise?

| Hi Bricklink gurus
Please consider staging BDP pre-order times by country timezones. It's fine
if you're close to the US, but for anyone on the opposite side of the world,
getting up at 0400hrs is crazy (I mean, I did it, but missed out on the BPD series
4 castle, the only one I wanted).
Also, 30,000 unit limit? What the heck? If you get past the minimum order required,
surely it should be open ended after that.

| Currently you can sort a Wanted List by 'Have Qty' and 'Want Qty'.
However when looking to complete a wanted list what I really care about is how
many parts I still need, or in other words the 'Want Qty' minus the 'Have
Qty'.
I would like to suggest adding a new sorting option 'Need Qty', which
would simply sort the list by the difference between Want and Have.
For example, given the following 3 parts:
- Part1 [Want 4, Have 2] Need = 4-2 = 2
- Part2 [Want 6, Have 5] Need = 6-5 = 1
- Part3 [Want 2, Have 4] Need = 2-4 = -2
As far as I can tell there is no way to currently sort these parts in this order;
By the number of parts that still need to be acquired to complete the list.
I find both 'Have' and 'Want' to not be very useful when sorting,
as it's the difference between the two that actually matters for a wanted
list.
So I would like to suggest adding the ability to sort by this metric. While I
refer to it as 'Need Qty' here, any name could be used that conveys the
intent sufficiently.
I am aware of the 'Hide Items if Have Qty is ≥ Want Qty' Filter option,
and it is very useful. I still believe that even with this enabled that it would
be useful to be able to sort by the remaining delta of these two values.

| Howdy, Friends at Bricklink!
Currently when I view my Wanted List within a store, it shows me ALL items in
the selected Wanted List, even if I no longer need the item. It would help if
I could filter the view to JUST items I "Need", not all the items and
Need and Have. This would save a whole lot of time and headaches. I have a Wanted
List with over 500 items that I am almost done fulfilling, and it would be easier
and faster to just see if the parts I need are in stock in the store, and not
everything I already have.
Thanks for considering my suggestion.

| Hello Friends at Bricklink!
I have a suggestion for the "Orders Placed" page. Please allow for a
longer history of orders. I (as well as other professional builders) get to write
off our Bricklink orders on our taxes, and it doesn't help that my orders
expire from the page. If I need to reference them for tax season, they aren't
there. Currently I only show orders up till September 2023, but not before. It
would help to have access to orders *at least* going back to January 2023.
Thank you for considering this. It would make a huge difference to see this change
take place.

| When listing a part to sell, there should an additional status of "damaged."
"New" is obvious, but "Used" covers a whole lot of ground. Relying
on comments for the part condition is going to lead to a bad experience for both
selling and buying parties, especially when I have to go multiple layers down
in the rulebook to find the statement expectation. And it doesn't say that
comments are "required," it says that comments "'should'
be noted in the item description." Again, opportunity for a bad experience.
Is "should" being used as an expectation or requirement??
This could also be resolved with the addition of a "damaged" status.
The primary win would be a damaged part labeled as "used" would be clearly
in the buyers protection. As a seller, I would argue if I have a damaged part
listed as "used," I am not in the wrong for missing a comment as there
is no clear requirement. But if I had a "damaged" status, all is clear.

| Hi.
I wish for an automated tool/script to add comments to lots that are merging
15th Feb.
Adding the comments, combined with physical checks are very time consuming.
Since there are many shops who have their store combined with regular jobs like
myself.
The time i have available to put towards my shop is limited.
This fact combined with to continue to operate the shop and serve customers gives
even smaller windows of time available towards backtracking inventory adding
comments.
I feel like a automated tool towards adding the comments to the lots is a fairly
simple project; but it could give loads of time because it enables the user to
postpone the physical check after feb 15th while maintaining their inventory
as is with difference in their lots.
Kind regards

| At the top middle of the website is a quick search into All Item. Autocomplete
kicks in when search results are available and show the part image and name.
Can you also display the part color?
The use case is that I'm picking parts from a list of part numbers. I could
easily type in the part number and the quick search results will show a brief
description of the part. However, it doesn't tell me the part color.

| Hi,
I try to optimise the storage of my parts. To do this, I am using the EB-AFIT
Pallet Loading Algorithm. Actually, I determine the dimensions of the parts by
converting the studs. Some Parts have no dimensions in stud but have packing
dimensions, for exemple :
The XML file of my inventory (downloaded from https://www.bricklink.com/invExcel.asp)
contains only the dimensions of the parts are expressed in stud. I've also
checked in the API, the dimensions are also expressed in stud.
It will be great to retrieve packing dimensions through an exportation tool.
Thanks for your reading, regards.

| To be able to share short video clips here in the forum, not just pic files?
Even though we’ve had 4 suggestions over the years implemented, I just don’t
how doable this would be, the technical limitations or cost to the site.
But just imagine how much it would expand the ability to help others with various
issues, to showcase a LEGO project, the running of a store, or how to assemble
something, etc. Imagine too, the entertainment value brought to the site. In
other words, pragmatic and fun.
For example, on the fun side of the equation; I would’ve really like to have
shared a short video clip I took this morning during my workout down at the shore,
showing a pod of whales spouting, just to the left of the pic. But if video was
enabled somehow
Just a thought...

if you had to have at least one positive feedback to post on the forum. I just
think that would help out the discussions moderator and we would not have to
look at tons of deleted posts. I understand some new users may have a question

| I use the option
View a printer-friendly version of this page [with temporary checkboxes]
at the bottom of inventory pages often, but would be able to use it better if
there was some sort of input field on parts with a quantity over 1 to keep track
without denoting the part as inventoried (check-boxed).
Currently Im using scrap paper; if a part is multiple but incomplete, I draw
the piece, maybe make a color note, and do hash marks until I have the entire
quantity and THEN can do the checkbox on my computer.
I want to get rid of the paper part since I'm already so close to a great
system with the provided databases and the "[with temporary checkboxes]"
page, but to be able to this all digital would make the page much more functional.
I wouldn't mind suggestions for inventory software or just general tips for
cataloguing sets (mostly dug from lots) either.
thanks,
Pete

| In the top right corner of the wanted list there is an Indicator of the percentage
of the number parts wanted on the list in relation to the parts owned in the
list.
The list can be sorted among other criteria by "Wanted Qty" or "Have

It would be very helpful, if the list could also be sorted by "Still neeede

| I wonder if it would be possible to move this option from its current obscure
position on the Troubleshooting page to a more prominent position on the sales
order page. As a buyer, I noticed that every time the seller didn't have
enough of an item on the order, the seller would just give me a credit. This
is not the correct way. That doesnt adjust sales tax or fees. It doesnt give
the buyer an opportunity to approve or disapprove the adjustment either. Recently
I had this problem as a seller and it ended with my buyer getting irritated because
she says she didnt receive the request to remove the item and that NO ONE ELSE
HAD EVER DONE IT THAT WAY. She always just got a credit. So I think this option
needs to be moved to the front page so to speak. It is not an uncommon situation.
I think if easier to find, sellers would be more inclined to use this feature.
I have used it a few timrs recently and everything went smoothly. I've only
had the one issue with it.
