In Shipping, SmokeFreeStuds writes:
When re-selling a used set with the instructions included, if they were never
folded originally, is it acceptable to fold them when shipped with the set, or
is that frowned upon? I have some sets with larger instruction booklets, and
while the sets themselves may not take up much space, if I don't fold the
instructions then I would require a much larger box. If I were to fold the instructions
in half, is that something I am expected to disclose in the item listing, or
is folding instructions something that is generally acceptable and does not need
to be indicated?

I sell a lot of instructions.

Its very important to not fold them. In fact you may want to include a backing
board, even if this raises your shipping cost.

Yes, this was my experience also. I was able to click on 2 different sets, ignored
the pop-up, and had both in my cart at LEGO.com when I got there.

I just got a message from LEGO telling me my order was confirmed. And then another
that the items were 'Out of Stock'.

Are we going to get one of these every few weeks again like last time??

~Jen

I got a processing email and now a confirmation, no out of stock email...yet?

Hey Chili! I've ordered from you a few times and I am not ignoring anyone.
I even sent several personal messages to people thanking them for their help.

I got the issue figured out. I haven't made an order in like 6 months because
I just moved from the address you've shipped me probably 3 packages to, to
the midwest. I forgot that you actually put in the payment information after
you get the invoice (stupid, I know). I did a bunch of work for some family
here and thought it would be fun if they just bought me some lego (the new ones
tomorrow) instead of paying me. I'll probably only spend ~1500 not the full
2000 and call it a deal.

Just thought it would be fun for them to just buy the lego instead, nothing nefarious.

Anyways, nice to hear from you again! Look forward to a cool youtube movie I'm
making featuring all the space sets from classic through exploriens! I've
been planning to message a thank you to all the people I've bought from on
here and share the video with them. But I'm still in the filming phase!

Anyways, thanks for at least responding to my help request!

Cheers

Lol I just realized you were one of my regulars forgive my bluntness, It just
struck me as very odd to not take the seemingly easiest route.

Glad to hear it's nothing crazy.. I'm still confused as to why it can't
just be transferred though? Maybe someone can explain for my own knowledge. I'm
guessing having them link to a new BL account may be easier as well. Either way
sounds like someone got you sorted with a solution

Yes! Please share the vid when you are finished, that sounds amazing.

And good luck tomorrow morning. I'm on central time and am setting an alarm.
Hopefully we all can get something (or multiples of somethings)

It's a bug I see since the Refund page exists.

When you've input any amount in the "Refund amount Buyer will receive"
field, then using your mouse to scroll either up or down will increase or
decrease the value by increment of 1 (ex: 12.37 = 13.37, 14.37, etc)

Which can also lead to negative numbers.

But a few times I was to validate a refund which in the end was 1 or 3€ more
than what I typed because of this. Of course it's more difficult to notice
if you've a non trivial number like 12.37 which can become 13.37 without
you to notice.

In short, after clicking "Review refund" CAREFULLY double check the amount,
it may have changed since you typed it

Note it's the same in a Shop page, you may type 4, scoll down, and buy 2...

... But... When I tried to replicate this after Nubs mentioned it above, I
scrolled up, down, left, right, expanded, contracted... nothing changed.

Depends the position of your cursor, the rotation speed or start time, many things...

Here I can make it happen 100% of the times.

Confirmed to happen here on Firefox and Nubs on Opera IIRC - at least, didn't
try other browsers.

I was using chrome when it happened

oddly on this second laptop, that uses Edge instead of chrome, I get a whole
different set of ghost clicks instead of scrolls. Again, for irony, I was typing
this message and it randomly went to an unrelated page on bricklink I had not
been to before. I did not have my hand on my mouse. I guess its possible my wrist
is bumping the pad though, but I don't think so

Also this laptop will once a week claim I can't log into bricklink because
of cookies not being enabled (they are) and it will randomly stop asking and
let me in the site.

Interesting. I've had the same problem on occasion listing parts. I get to
the screen to enter values and it has seemingly scrolled on its own and selected
an entirely different part. I've almost listed things I didn't have due
to this, and I'm sure I probably have too, because things come up sold that
I don't remember every having and subsequently cannot find. Ironically the
refund today was for such a part. It also sold in a non existant color, so a
double mistake (had I actually listed something and messed up). No doubt too
big of an error for me to have simply typo'd.

It comes in spurts. Sometimes years inbetween.

Keep in mind the buyer has to approve this. I've never, not once had a buyer
figure out how to do that. Refunding or crediting the part is far less of a headache

As someone who has been doing this a while. I'll tell you that Bionicle being
popular with collectors is a NEW thing. They were practically worthless until
the generation who grew up with them became adults with incomes. I remember predicting
it and watching the market start to tick up and then buying a ton in bulk for
next to nothing (compared to now)

The catalog is run by volunteers, which, not to speak for them, are probably
not your age bracket and probably honestly not that interested in Bionicle. I
would imagine its just not a priority.

I have repeatedly offered you the information you need to fix this issue, and
have not once received even a reply for my efforts. Instead, BrickLink is more
interested in maintaining their poorly-categorised colours, removing accurate
listings (how can I include rubber bands with a set, when said rubber bands are
23 years old and dust?), and ignoring the fella trying to literally hand you
the answer to this issue, and also ruining your database by no longer tracking
part variants. You do realise some of those 'insignificant' changes actually
matter, right?

... Right?

are you really proposing removing rubber bands from older set inventories?

The thought of adding more "metal" colors makes my head hurt, and I'm
better at the colors than the average user.

I change as many big items as I can catch to manual invoice only. I also recommend
this for heavy/expensive instructions as you may want to add backing boards.

Personally I put pic requests behind open orders, even if it says to ask... but
that said a 2 day max is where I'd give up as a buyer, because as a seller,
I think anything beyond that is unreasonable.

I do message people to tell them it will be xyz number of hours before I can
help them.

always help the paid customers first, imo.

he would have noticed that I mentioned instructions were not included, and I
also wrote a message through BL messenger that the instructions were not included

You can't do anything. That feedback doesn't meet the removal standards

Is there a way to filter this besides going seller by seller, and adding to cart

Attach your card to a paypal account. I pay everything via CC on paypal. It's
an extra layer of protection on both ends.

I use Royal Mail to ship from UK to USA, Canada, Australia etc.. and have very
few issues! I have full confidence in my packages arriving with only the odd
inevitable package going astray but they are generally few and far between!

as I suspected. Thank you for the input

I'm curious, I ran across a UK seller with parts I'd like but in 5000
sales they have nearly 40 negs. Almost all of them have the seller blaming the
Royal mail service.

About 30 or so are people complaining about either missing orders, or missing
parts, and then the missing parts are mailed and those come up missing.

Basically almost all the bad reviews are claiming the order or replacements never
came
and the seller just replies with how they are not responsible.

Almost every reply is a version of "too bad, so sad". I find a
hard time believing this person isn't just ripping people off.

I've shipped, goodness, 6k parcels at least between various platforms and
I've had only 2 vanish. So will someone vouch for this person or are they
full of it?

have nowadays about counterfeit parts. The forum is replete with posts about
parts that people think might be fake because they don't match 100% with

molds and makes tiny changes on most iterations of parts. I suppose the Chinese
clones are to blame. Sigh...

Dear god I agree.

I go through hundreds of lbs a year and the only counterfeits that are even remotely
convincing are usually marvel figs once in a while. No one is bothering to copy
plates and other regular parts.

Some of us older fans have seen all the iterations, in real time, so I do get
that perhaps I can see and spot things newer hobbyists can't. That said I
agree its a way too common concern.

If your paypal account is new, they hold your money for something like 21 days
or so IIRC.

Also recently I had two of my paypal payments from Canada to the USA held, for
no good reason I could ever figure out except they both came from Canada. I waited
it out to see what would happen and it was over a month.

That said, you'd see it in your balance, but just be unable to use or withdraw
it.

This is a common question from new PP users. Chances are funds are simply being
held, not missing.

nt see how other stores could succesfully grade used bricks; without
making a loss either in time as well as selling wise; you cant just 3x the price
of a used brick and surpassing the new brick price of it. Let alone the storage
space required when you need 3 or more places to store the same brick due to
grading variations.(+1 space for the new bricks not to forget)

That being said good luck going forward

I do this and so do many people, though mostly I separate decades not grades
but same effect.

People will pay more to know what they are getting. Also you ignore that most
people decide not on price, or quality as much as availability. My experence
is cheap/new only/ parts stores tend to not have what I need. You can have cheap
new parts all you want, but if you only have half what the buyer needs and I
have it all. Its cheaper to buy from one place than two. Usually.

There's room in the market place for both.

I have a fair few hundred kg's amassed over the years and so all in different
condition - 1960s to very modern, dull from use, surface scratches or discolouring
from light to heavy, to other bricks that look near new and hardly touched.

My question is for those that sell a lot of used parts - is there a recognised
standard of grading? Do you grade or chuck all bricks in to an ebay lot that
are less than good condition?

As I'm starting out sorting the bricks (and there's a long road ahead)
it seems a good idea to gauge thoughts on a good system to employ from the beginning?

Thank you for any thoughts on this.

My opinion, most parts should be like new unless they are rare.

Quality over quantity.

I just take all the rare and valuable stuff from the lots (most of the value
of your lot is going to come from 5% of the parts, mostly figures and figure
accessories) then sell the bulk on other marketplaces.

I'm not going to pick a 10 cent part and then have a buyer complain about
the condition of that same part or have them receive one knockoff in say 100
1x2 plates.

The math on sorting out basic bricks (excluding rare colors) is horrible.

I agree and this is basically what I do.

I've watched YT vids of big sellers sorting literally everything in bulk
lots and listing it all. I just can't do it. Also the time involved, I've
also come to the same conclusion about money.

Bulk lots, I pull anything I want, then the obvious parts to list, then I see
if there is bulk of certain pieces that warrant me pulling those, even if they
are cheaper. Then to ebay it goes

I've gotten garbage over the years and massive bulk sorting is got to be
the way its missed.

I don't have a strict grading system, but as a general rule I don't like
to sell parts with noteworthy playwear unless old or rare. I usually use great/good
shape, light playwear or playworn/scratched

I also have about 1400 instructions listed, graded.

I have seen many many orders were the buyer bought from me simply because the
part had a comment, even if my price was higher, the comment less competition
didn't get the sale. I make it a point to grade everything used.

Do you note the circular scratches under arms when they are obvious? I saw a

To be technical, if the books do not contain ads, they narrowly fit into "media

most parts on the site sell in the 1-50cent range, so a minimum buy keeps up
from having to pull and pack hundreds tiny orders a month.

If you want to pay the difference up to $10, as a handling fee, I'm sure
most sellers will do that. But basically it means you need to buy $10 worth of
stuff.

I'm guessing you chose the store based on price, you'll find alot of
the cheaper stores have minimums that are on the higher end. Most seem to have
a min of $1.

Mine is $3, which is on the high end IMO.

Some time ago on Priority shipping label you got

they want

It's so frustrating

I had to refund a genuinely vanished package the other day. Luckily low value.

I wouldn't say worse or not. 99% of items arrive eventually. I used Fedex

Naaa, it would break the machine!

No kidding, gf has a $20 mobile, with a 1 inch "display" (just a small
stack of pixels) and T9 as "SMS assistant" (in short, a couple of words
max).

She doesn't want to be distracted by a computer in your pocket: just a phone.
The absolute killer is a few *weeks* autonomy if you don't use it often.

But we for sure would have bought a 3310 - just didn't know a year ago they're
still plenty for sale!

absolutely agree. I wish I could have a dumb phone. I will once I fully retire

Sadly Amazon has ruined the American consumer and if you don't reply to buyers
immediately they often get hostile.

How can Miami be your local USPS office if you don't live in the USA? Are
you saying you registered as a US based user even though you are not a resident
with a freight forward as the address? And if so, do you let sellers know this?
As some sellers don't want to ship to third party handlers because of issues
like this and also if there are export issues.

Also, I don't know of any actual frieght Forwarders in Miami. Its usually
OR or DE.

I know that lots of products aggregate there for shipment to South America, my
impression is its by boat. I also sell cosmetics, and 99% of them go to Miami
for export to S.A. but these are done through private parties that ship them
to family members. Perhaps OP is dealing with something semi-sketch like that.

So I would be very interested in seeing a few examples on how to do it. The ones
with whole rooms for lego, while very impressive, dont brother in this thread.

Best regards,

you want examples of displays but not whole rooms? I'm confused it sound
like you are asking for pics of build sets on a table by itself

Update: There is no logo or brand on the bricks, but on the inside is this number:
M2014-61033. They do link up with the confirmed Duplo bricks as if they were
of the same set, which is why I assume that they are Duplos.

They look like fakes to me, the plastic doesn't look lego and the shapes
are off, I'm not a duplo expert but I've probably have had more than
the average bear and these look like the fakes I see at thrift on a regular basis

No logo comfirms that they are fakes IMO but I'm willing to be wrong.

I get blocked on Ebay more often. I am an established seller here and I think
I know why (for what reasons) and when I should block somebody. But I have no
idea why I get blocked by some sellers on Ebay. I already know that by messaging
a seller to ask extra photos,... I am already at risk of getting blocked.
Later time, I got blocked by a seller in the USA after few messages back and
forth. I have absolutely no idea why he blocked me. I politely asked him the
reason and what I did wrong. He did not answer me. As a seller, I literally cannot
come with a reason that he might have to block me.
I believe you did not teach him when and who he has to block.

I wanted badly his rare Lego listings and used a friend's account to buy
the products from him. Now I really want to leave a negative feedback for him.
Is this over-reacting?

I can even pass my communications with him. Maybe you have a better understanding
on how Ebay works.

Well, I have a couple ideas for you.

One, I've noticed that Americans in general, tend to freak out if they aren't
used to selling out of the country, I don't know if we get conditioned to
think everyone outside of the USA is a scammer, or its just inate, but the amount
of people posting on forums asking if completely normal buyers are scamming them
simply because they are outside the USA is really really high (we see it here
on occasion as well)

My next guess is Ebay has changed their return and feedback rules and its gotten
out of hand, and I'm guessing it spooks alot of sellers. We now get completely
screwed if there is a return, and usually asking questions means a pickier buyer,
which raises the risk for returns. I've personally blocked people asking
about expensive items on ebay because at this point I'm terrified of returns.
I've been moving all my items to Mercari because of this.

I had like 2 returns in 7 years on ebay, but recently I've had, what, 6,
7? It's gotten completely out of hand, AND we can't leave negative feedback.
Garbage site at this point

as far as the neg, I don't know. If the above seems like it makes sense to
you (he got spooked) then I wouldn't, but if hes just a jerk go for it. Negs
do disapear after 6 months, so I personally don't sweat them, but even if
he freaks out, he'll be fine.

Hey Crystal,

How much would you worry if a buyer, who called you "overzealous seller",
"bonehead seller", "does not know whats going on",..., wants
to block you?

World ending. I'd be distraught. XD Then I'd reply to their feedback
with a non sequitur.

Seriously though, when I'm teaching people Ebay, I have to explain to new
sellers that you are going to have to block tons of people, and to not feel bad
about it. IMO the more questions asks the bigger then pain the person ends up
being.

Is it acceptable business practice in your country, you write something in store
terms, when a customers asks about respecting it, you just put it like that -
forget about it kid, shut up & don't waste my time?

This clearly, very clearly is just a translation problem between you guys. I
personally would just eat the $2 and never shop there again. I don't think
they were rude by asking if you want to cancel. Perhaps some grass touching is
in order IMO

Where do these show up? In an email? On the buyers dashboard? I've used these
over the years and never, not once has a buyer been able to find it to approve
it. I'm 100% sure I'm submitting them.

I've never had one as a buyer, so I have no item how to help people find
the thing. I would think they'd get an email or something no? They all have
claimed to receive nothing and I end up just using a credit, but I'd prefer
to not have to relist things manually.

Thanks in advance

Most of my personal collection is off site at the moment but I checked the pile

its happening.

If they can't donate it then at least they should put it in a bin with other

plastics.

What needs to happen is that the charities need to be made aware that there are
options that would reduce their landfill contributions and therefore make their
waste streams somewhat more environmentally friendly. That might mean changes
in the way in which charities operate.

As for the plastics, it's just an extra bin that they throw plastics into
and have collections set up on a regular basis.

There's also a fairly new recycling method that shreds the incoming plastics
into small pieces and then steam under pressure is used to turn them back into
oil products. That means a recycling effort might be possible to implement because
that oil product can then be refined and reused.

It does, however, mean that a lot more effort has to be focused on recycling
products instead of sending them to waste streams. Companies are slow to implement
changes to how they handle waste streams because a lot of it involves expenses
associated with handling and shipping the waste. Individuals may do their part
for the recycling process but there still isn't a properly focused effort
on getting any recycling process to 100% or near that in terms of efficiency.

Our world is slowly becoming a plastic world, but we can make a difference. Even
the oceans are getting plastics and other floating debris removed from them.
If they can clean up the oceans surely diverting the plastics out of landfill
isn't entirely impossible. Someone just needs to come up with a properly
scaled solution that fits the current and future needs of plastics recycling.

Just my 2c worth.

Cheers ...

ghyde

The USA wasn't actually recycling most of what goes into those sorted bins.
Most of it was being exported to China. China finally said they wouldn't
take it anymore. There's been large campaigns to explain to Americans that
we were lied to, and nearly nothing we "recycled" actually got recycled.
Just shipped overseas where its often burned

Last I checked the USA was scrambling to find another country to take the stuff.
We don't really have recycling infrastructure here aside from sorting facilities.

I was in the exotic animal Business for a couple decades and knew some bear owners.
Whats sad is they aren't really that bad of a pet for the right trainer,
I can think of 25 worse pets that are far more common (looking at you, exotic
cat people), but sadly most people think you need to use punitive training to
accomplish even the most basic tasks and can't house them correctly. Which
is why attacks happens generally speaking.

One of my favorite trainers said in one of her books that if you can't train
a chicken without touching it you have no business with kids or any animals.
A bit extreme, but her point stands IMO

Anyway, back to bear stores.

is a used one. Also about half of our Lego is used too. It’s better for the
environment to buy used stuff. When you buy used you just saved on the manufacturing
of more product. And we all know that every product produced makes some sort
of waste product to go with it.

I recently heard of a company that takes garbage and burns it at super high temperatures
to produce electricity!
And the company gets paid to take the garbage from the landfill, and they get
paid for the electricity that they produce!
Not only that, but because the fire is so hot the smoke is next to none. If you
own a wood stove than you know that the hotter the fire the cleaner the smoke,
because it’s being burned.

Growing up I never understood why my friends poor families only bought new stuff.
I remember taking my best friend as a child to a thrift store with me because
they had a toy section and she was blown away. Said she'd never been to one.

Same later in life when I was in the life of a child that was growing up with
nearly nothing. She was confused as to why nothing was in packaging.

pretty sure they burn trash here for the same thing. I know my neighbors also
burn their trash and leaves every year. They don't compost anything, cut
down trees like crazy. I know they also recycle basically nothing. It's been
hard for my West Coast Soul to get used to. I think I'm the last house on
my side of the street with any trees.

I sold a property down the road, and it was so beautiful. I drove past it for
the first time in a year and the guy who bought it clear cut it.

Anyway.

In the Usa you can't donate it because if it does have an issue. You can

recycle bins to collect bear bottles to return to the bear store for money and

from boxes of lego to sealed bottles of brandy (one guy literally gave me half
a 24 pack of unopened beer bottles), computers (which I used for like 3 years
before I could afford one myself), laptops, TVs (which I still use in my room
to this day after I found it in the garbage like 5+ years ago). once I even found
an old electronic radio system thing which I sold for $300 in less then a week
(had to refund about half as it got damaged in shipping) but yah never underestimate
what people will throw out

Indeed. I started looking for cans for extra cash. Found so many items I taught
myself ebay. 3 years of ebay I was able to put a down payment on my house with
the cash I made from *trash* and cans. I moved away and didn't have opportunities
in my new city.

I don't buy anything new at all to this day unless its impossible (food,
car parts, etc). Its all used. Getting on ebay is how I got back into the lego
hobby, which is also how I ended up here eventually. Weird world but I'm
grateful for the experiences.

sooo, I was freegan for 3 years. Yes, yes they do. Also I know a well known Youtuber
who found something like 20-40lbs on a dive once. People do throw them away.
People throw EVERYTHING away. I have found literal macbooks, gift cards, new
with tag items. You name it, and not in small amounts. Literal metric tons of
items annually. Americans especially are incredibly wasteful people.

Also, I frequent the goodwill bins. I can tell you most of the donated lego gets
tossed in these bins and they go to the landfill at the end of the day. I've
been there many full shifts and the only one nit picking out Lego out of hundreds
of people is myself. Most days its so damaged that I leave it.

As you can see reuse of LEGO is not that simple. Who ever came up with the idea,
while they may have had good intentions, they weren’t thinking about the things
that need doing for a charity like this. The people who sort and wash will need
to be paid. And not all Lego collections are clean, and fake Lego free.

My personally point of view, is that if you are getting this stuff from a charity,
if its dirty or full of fakes, and that bothers you. You probably don't need
charity as much as a humbling.

Absolutely not.

Orders like this means your pricing is probably waaay to low. Adjust it to account
for your time.

What if it was multiple orders? What does it matter? You sold 600 parts. Congrats.

Yes, BUT I've been experiencing the same thing. On ebay as well.

Sometimes its says first class

Sometimes its says ground advantage

And about 1/3 of the time, it gives me options for both.

it also still occasionally gives me the option for parcel select with ground
advantage as well.

I've not noticed any pattern as to why, and again its multiple platforms

Because of that, I was wondering if it'd possible somehow to receive it via
regular mail/envelope from sellers, which I presume would be much cheaper?

Thanks in advance!

If the seller agrees to it. Sure. Just ask

The seller basically has to hope you aren't scamming him. Personally, I don't
think someone would bother over a couple bucks, I've shipping small instructions
and stickers snail mail on request. That said I don't think I'd do it
for someone with 0 feedback.

My biggest issue would be I'd have a hard time finding out how much it would
cost to snail mail it to a foreign country (google is usually not accurate on
this, ime) so I'd probably make a guess, ask them to overpay a little and
refund after going to the post office.

another note, if they have to stand in line at the post office to get an accurate
rate, I'd wait until after xmas to make the request

I did try that but was unsuccessful. I was going to offer to send the parts to
the correct buyer and save the seller time but I guess I’ll be shipping them
back to California. I wish there was a way to search by town or shop owner’s
name.

This makes the most sense anyway, at least from a privacy perspective. This hasn't
happened to me (yet?) but if I had a mixup when sending I would want the recipient
to send it back to me so I could send it out to the correct buyer.

I'll admit I've done it three times. Paypal had a glitch for a while
and it would reprint the last label instead of my new one. If you didn't
watch it like a hawk, you'd send two orders to one person. I must have caught
it at least a dozen times but 3 got through before I figured out what was going
on.

The first time it was a bunch of expensive elves parts. The person wouldn't
return them to me, but said they'd send them on to the buyer. Of course they
never did. Ate that one

The second time, they were super gracious, and sent them to the buyer for me,
even after I told them it wasn't their problem and they could jsut return
them to sender (me). I paid her for the new label, gave her a generous coupon
for her help, and she used it immediately, so win win for everyone.

Third time, I had just moved and they just did a return to sender without letting
me know until I figure out something was wrong. So it went 2000 miles the wrong
way. I contacted the guy who bought my house who told me he'd sent it to
my buyer. I sent him a label and everything. He never did it. Ate it again.

Anyway its expensive and a pain in the rear. I don't wish it on anyone.

DO NOT.

BrickLink will always propose the cheapest Shipping Option by default (so I guess
this one is free), and you'll get tens of orders with people writing you
"Oh no, sorry, I meant, sent by USPS it was a mistake!!!", and things
will be complicated especially if they already paid with $0 shipping...

This. Except they wont notice. You will notice, and then you have to message
them and disapoint them that shipping isn't free.

Just stick to manual invoice and charge nothing for shipping IMO

I tried to set up a local shipping option for my store. The problem is I have
other manual invoice options and suddenly those disappeared and all that was
left was In person pickup. I had to get rid of this option and re-enable the
others and then it all worked.

Is it possible to have other manual options or does the system default to the
$0 shipping one for request for invoice ? I am able to have 2 manual options
- Economy & Priority , so I'm baffled why I cannot have a 3rd option for
local pickup. Anyone have any ideas about this? Just wondering how many options
you can have on a store.
thanks

As someone whos tried this, save yourself a headache and don't add the option.

90+% of buyers will chose it, without reading it, trust me

and this caught my eye ...

The game includes more than 1,000 Lego minifigures based on Fortnite skins

If those are issued are IRL minifigs ... Collect the entire set !

I doubt they will all become real figures, even Minecraft has not got anywhere
near that number yet. Another interesting point is whether this spells the end
for LEGO Minecraft. It is like LEGO doing Star Trek alongside Star Wars.

??

Minecraft is wildly popular and translates to lego very well. People were begging
for it before it was released.

Also fortnite is an IMO entirely different game and userbase. The comparison
is dubious at best, the only thing they have in common is being popular and being
a game.

I mean if that's the reason it will "end" why are there now Genesis
and Nintendo Character lines?

So I have these two boxes that appear to be from the 60s. Does anyone know what
these are and exactly how to value these? There’s literally nothing on the boxes
except for the words “Building Toy” and the tape that reads “Lego Loveland”.
I assume there are just multicolored bricks inside of here, but is it possible
that these are actual sets of something? Or just random bricks? Both boxes
are unopened and I don’t want to open them. Any help would be much appreciated!

The two sets you have are Kraft / Velveeta mail away co-proms:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?promoCatID=63

THANKS so much for the assistance. Just curious...the boxes appear to both be
the same size. Do you think they are both the same promotional set? The reason
I ask is because I see there were 3 or 4 promo sets but they were all different.
I assume if the sets were different the box sizes would also be different?
Just trying to find if both boxes are set number 1 or if they are different.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

Micah

Do you have a gram scale? Different sets probably have different weights.

Stores like this are the reason I am in favor of removing the option for sellers
to leave feedback on buyers. Even though I am a seller.

Years ago, Ebay removed a seller's ability to leave feedback. The result
was an explosion of buyer extortion and theft. Every transaction has two counter-parties,
and both should be allowed to leave feedback. Even on BL, bad/neutral feedback
is far more damaging to the seller than the buyer.

I leave bad "Positive" feedback in all caps anyway. It at least makes
me feel better, but I know it'll get buried. The return policies on ebay
gets abused and we have no way to warn other sellers. If that happened here,
sellers would riot

Actually, I knew a guy was trying to scam me once with some GI JOE figures I
sent him on Ebay. I checked his feedback and he had a "positive" feedback
left within the last month from a seller that basically detailed the exact same
situation I was dealing with from the buyer. So I contacted the seller who left
the feedback. Since we both had the exact same stories, she called Ebay and they
gave her money back to her. Since my problems were still in the reporting stage,
I called Ebay and they sided with me as well. So leaving "positive" feedback
with great detail can still help out greatly.

I'm so so so fed up with Ebay for so many reasons. I've been transitioning
to other platforms

I'm so glad to hear that worked for someone.

Yeah, I sell vintage toys in general, and of course, flaws exist. Buyers don't
read descriptions and since I don't accept returns, they lie and file "not
as described" claims. I've spent hours on the phone and chat with ebay,
they side with me, end the convo telling me I'll be reimbursed, dont'
do it, and then force a return anyway. Annoying.
