| It would be nice if StudIO had open multiple windows as a standard feature. Using
multiple viewports gets annoying as it has to split the screen multiple times.
My experience with StudIO has been that i need to have StudIO open on both screens
instead of clicking tabs switching back and forth.

Doing limited research I have been able to open the SQLite file but cannot access

From my research there appear to be many options but I can't find the "SQLite

| Eventually and after 6+ months of preparation and testing, and a Stack Overflow
question of a really tough problem... this PC's migrated (few days ago) on
Windows 10!
Hopefully they'll cut us some slack... because Windows 10 support is supposed
to end in 2025 - that's almost next year
Fun fact, I still have a VM with the exact initial Windows XP I used when I registered
BrickLink
To share this event, I'm making a casual contest on forum: find the answer
and get 50€ of FREE order + its up to 500g FREE shipping, worldwide!
Double question:
* Which was the name of the very first Application (apart Windows itself,
D'oh) installed on my now obsolete PC Windows 7?
* As more than one person may find the name, please also give the date
(day/month if possible, or clearly differentiating) when this application
was installed in 2014...
Contest's opened from now on, until it closes on BrickLink EST date: Saturday,
Dec 23, 2023 00:00 EST
It's a bit more than 2 days only.
Rules (TL;DR):
* replies must be public, posted on Forum only - I may or not reply or comment
the posts
* 1 (ONE) reply per BrickLink member. You can cancel one/some and post a new.
But more than 1 will exclude all your replies
* winner is the one to give the correct application name, and (if few have) the
closest installation date (measure in days to this specific date)
* an application name, even a bit approximative is required: it shouldn't
consist of or contain abbreviation(s)
* the installation date should be CLEARLY differentiating day/month, if not like
03/04, I'll interpret it as day/month (yeah, French style)
* as a proof, I will post the screen copy of the Windows settings showing the
first installed apps in chronological order, showing the dates of course
* the price is an order credit in our shop for 50€ + 500g shipping cost to your
Country
* sorry, but no member's account with 0 (ZERO) Feedback Profile, or double
account (if we can be aware of)
* you will have to use our "Invoice me manually" Shipping Method so I
can credit the amount, and mention the contest in message so I know it's
you
* no heavy things like Baseplates, Duplo, Instructions..., this is supposed to
be casual - and avoid 100+ lots for the same reason
* you're of course welcome to order for more, in this case I'll credit
you the 50€ + 500g shipping price to your Country
* if your order's below the offered price, we will NOT send a payment of
the difference (it's like a Coupon if you wish)
* if your order's above, we may offer you the difference, or have to invoice
you the extra (depending multiple factors)...
* because contest will end before Xmas and we're overloaded, please don't
expect a quick shipping, especially for high number of lots
* tracking may or may not be provided or available depending too many factors
like Country, size, weight...
Note: Admins, Mods and even Pizza fans are (gladly!) accepted (but adults - which
may exclude some Pizza fans, LOL...)
See how I'm happy!
Good luck.
PS: just discovered we've got a Contest Topic, didn't know - thanks Cory
I guess!

| So this has happened 3 times already within, oh say, the past 3 months. Lego
Studio keeps corrupting my files. I'll open it sometimes and when I do, the
previously opened files in the little explorer don't show up. When I click
on the file, it will just say parsing and if it does get past that, nothing shows
up.
I've tried unzipping the file, but if I right click on it, the wheel spins
and file explorer crashes (I have to restart my computer forcefully). I don't
know if it's because there is a part conflict and because the file is so
large (14,000 pieces) it just won't open.
What's going on here? I love this program, but at this point I don't
want to use it anymore. I have plans on making even larger models, but not if
lego studio is going to gobble them up.
Are there any programs that can help me look at the ldraw files inside?

| I want to export an image I created in Studio. The following article explains
how this is done:
https://studiohelp.bricklink.com/hc/en-us/articles/5628123432215-Exporting-Instructions
However, the instructions here do not at all match the software I have downloaded.
According to the instructions, there should be a green button named "Export".
However, in my program there is "SIGN IN", "Add to wanted list"
and "Upload to MyStudio" in the top right.
I am using Studio version 2.23.11 (1)
This is the latest release, not the latest stable. The reason I am not using
the latest stable release is that would not start on my Macbook. I have Sonoma
14.2, so the OS version should not be a problem.

Author: | Fr0stByt3 | Posted: | Nov 22, 2023 21:02 | Subject: | Off Topic - Switched from Windows to Linux | Viewed: | 64 times | Topic: | Off Topic
| I'm a systems engineer and I like to solve problems so I decided to give
it a try. So far, it's been good, although the one thing many Windows users
would need to get acquainted to is the notion that even on Ubuntu-based distros,
the OS doesn't entirely hold the user's hand and do things for them the
way Windows would. Installing Nvidia drivers for your 3080Ti is one example,
configuring some games in Wine to run in Linux is another. You have to get used
to using the command-line, which in my opinion is great for installing packages
from remote repositories.
I dig it. Proton runs many of the Steams games I like to play fairly well and
it's good that there's a site to check how well a game will run out there.
The challenge of figuring out a new OS is fun too, and I may try creating a copy
of Arch from scratch eventually when I'm more confident with Linux.
The only complaint I have so far, and granted I have not tried in a while, is
getting Bricklink Studio to run using Wine. There's a step in the installation
requiring you to restart your computer and the last time I tried installing it
didn't fare so well. Native Linux support would be super nice unless I'm
blind and it's offered already.

Author: | 0to60 | Posted: | Nov 22, 2023 19:14 | Subject: | 5000 feedback - Time to Introduce Myself | Viewed: | 186 times | Topic: | Off Topic
| We recently received our 5000th feedback and upgraded to the orange brick! We've
been at this purposely since 2019 and have shipped out 8754 orders. We have no
social media presence, no advertising etc. and have pretty much lived in the
shadows but I'd like to introduce myself and my store and get to know everyone
a little better and become a bigger part of this amazing community.
My name is Mike, I am located in southwest Missouri, and my full-time gig is
a high school teacher. My wife handles most all of the picking and shipping and
a lot of the listing of new inventory. This store allows her to be a stay at
home mom, put in a couple of hours of work each day and then attend to the rest
of her obligations. I have three young children who also help out with picking
orders and things like minifigure identification.
My store's name is 0 to 60 #fastestshipping, and obviously that fastest shipping
claim is self-appointed. There may be stores that get packages out faster than
we do but there can't be many. We ship everything same day or next day for
orders that come in overnight. USPS does a good job from my location and a majority
of packages will reach their destination within 48 hours of ordering (I haven't
done a study with USPS Ground Advantage to see if that has slowed down from First-Class).
I am really proud of my storage system and the speed of which it allows us to
pull pieces. I store my inventory in 440 wooden drawers 24"x24"x2.5"
which I made out of recycled pallet and shipping box lumber (see picture).
My prices are quite high. This is a second job for me and a part-time job for
my wife, so we try to keep things manageable. We average around 6 orders a day
/ around 270 pieces a day / around 70 lots per day. With our current structure
my wife can spend a couple of hours per day getting the orders out and adding
200/300 pieces to our inventory so our store can maintain its current size. If
our prices were lower I'm afraid we'd have a hard time keeping up. Finding
that correct balance has been the most interesting part of this whole journey.
I'm sure this is more than you cared to know about us but thanks to this
community for everything and nice to meet you all!
