Any chance someone could help me identify the correct set number? I think it

Looks like:

Set No: 75040 Name: General Grievous' Wheel Bike
*
75040-1 (Inv) General Grievous' Wheel Bike
249 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 2014
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 3

order process and cancelled the order without realising I wasn’t processing a
NPB. So I’m now worried they’re going to leave me bad feedback in response. How
can I un-do this to go the correct way and blocking them from ruining my feedback
score?

It's not always necessary to trigger a NPB process (I only do this if I really
don't hear from the buyer in weeks).
If a buyer tells me that he/she doesn't want the order anymore, I simply
cancel it with reason "mutual agreement", with no costs for the buyer
of course.
In order to "prevent" negative feedback (why should they leave a negative
feedback? you did them a favor and canceled the order), simply take the first
step and leave them a positive feedback (although they canceled, at least the
did communicate) - this should also lower the chance to get a neutral/negative
feedback

Hi!

While I'm normally more into "harder" music, I find it very relaxing
to listen to (mostly) slow electronic music without any lyrics while I have to
do tasks where I need some concentration (work, bricklink, etc.).

Check out my Spotify playlist I've created, maybe there is something you

Ah, ok, thanks.
But still strange - I'm using "stay signed in" option every time
(have to re-login from time to time, maybe every month or so). Also didn't
change my password for a long time before. Maybe I will take a closer look if
it ever happens again (e.g. logging in with a browser that I normally don't
use for bricklink).

Thanks!

Hi there,

I'm using a password generator to create random passwords for websites (stored
in an external tool - KeePassXC).

Today I noticed that I couldn't log on to bricklink anymore because of a
wrong password. After setting a new password, everything works fine again and
it seems that nothing has been changed (still have my (hopefully) correct inventroy,
etc.).

But still, a bit strange - has my account been hacked?
Does anybody else have/had the same issue recently?

Thanks!

Not sure if I fully understand you, but this normally happens when you check
"Retain" for a lot - instead of removing it completely, bricklink moves
it to a stockroom (stockroom "A", if you've enabled 3 stockrooms)
with 0 quantity.

Quotes get auto-canceled if other users buy from the same seller and the items

2) I proceed with the order and try to find another seller that ships directly

Yes, I don't make any "profit" with such orders, but it's a motivation

I'd expect the same when I buy from other sellers by the way

Agreed of course (and it's free and open-source).

In BrickLink you could in the Inventory page, but only by Categories (Bricks/Plates...)

You can within Bricklink, go to this page and select these two:

at $1510aud, which makes the part out value way out of reality.

Brick Takeover also charges way too much for the Sand Green Plate, Round 1 x
1 ($48aud) in set (40521) also skewing the value massivley.

Is this accepted/normal?

When trying to figure out if you want to part out a set, why don't you use
"Last 6 Months Sales Average" instead of "Current Items For Sale Average" in
"Default prices to"?

This should get you a more realistic price for the parts.

I will be doing that ....now.
It's just a shame some sellers have made the current price average irrelevent.

True, there are some shops where you think that their prices are defined for
selling the sets in about 30 years xD

Take a deep breath, and just file the order. A buyer is not required to mark
an order complete. (And a seller shouldn't either.)

Jen

Yep.

Don't worry about it. Don't pay attention to it. Once I mark the order
as shipped, I don't pay attention to the order status any further. Whether
the customer ever marks it at received or completed, I don't care and don't
check.

I have marked the order as complete and it still doesn't fix it.... and to
all who wonder it drives me nuts because it looks like a new order at first glance
and I will stop what I am doing to focus on that and then its not a new order

Could it be that you are viewing the "All" option (top right corner in the order
page)?

If yes, simply switch to "Current" and "File" all orders that you don't want
to see anymore.

I just built this set, it has 18 numbered bags, no steps have multiple bags.
1 unnumbered bag, and a cardboard wrapped baseplate.

hope that helps

Thanks, that helps a lot! I had this unnumbered bag (with plates and energy effect

off then. Maybe the bricklink information about the weight isn't correct

Try flipping to the end of the instruction booklet and see what number they have
on the last bag you open. It'll be a good method of knowing unless there
are multiples of any number.

True, didn't think about that, thanks

But then there is always the possibility that there were 2 bags with the same
number (like in other sets), like you've said.

And I'm missing 72g as well - but I guess that no bag is that lightweight.

Comparing the prices, it would still be cheaper to do this via a 3rd company

But yes, this is a fact I didn't think about, thanks.

Addressing this and similar posts: https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1349983

From your end, how would you always know that the vendor “takes 2-3 days before
they turn it over to shipper”?

Just one of what I'm certain are several possible scenarios:

I take a deal of pride (those that know me would say to obsession) in quick
order processing, which includes getting the package into USPS possession. I
do this by packaging every order and having it ready to go before invoicing.
Upon receiving payment, the label is immediately created and applied. It's
here the obsession kicks in, as I then feel the urge to drive it the one km to
our PO without delay, thus finishing my part of the deal I made.

Here's where the question I posed to you plays out: I only ever use the package
drop box in the lobby when open, or exterior when closed. Arriving home, I immediately
change the status to "shipped" followed by a Drive Thru message being sent with
tracking link. We all know how tracking lags, and the link may not show 'shipper
possession' for sometime, on weekends and holidays it can be days.

Does the buyer then feel like you, that I was premature, perhaps even dishonest,
in changing the status to shipped? It’s actually an honest question that I’ve
always wondered: How do my buyers really feel about it?

-popsicle

Why not add a short text that says that tracking information could be delayed?
As soon as they are available, the buyer should see that you've posted the
parcel before you've sent the "Shipped" message.

At the bottom of your "Orders" page you can see a link that says "Download":
It directs you here:
https://www.bricklink.com/orderExcel.asp?orderType=received

You should find anything you need in the exported list (which also includes purged

long time that I've shipped to China and I never noticed something like that
in any country.

I've filled out customs declaration papers as usual, also included 2 invoices
of bricklink (one inside the parcel, one along with the customs declaration papers).

This is what tracking says:
https://www.post.at/en/sv/item-details?snr=CA103619691AT

"Customs declaration delay - missing proof of value" on May 25th and now again
on June 6th?

Anyone else experiencing something like that with shipments to China?

Thanks!

Seems like it arrived now (but not according to tracking), but the buyer contacted
me that he had to pay customs fees and that he is very unhappy about this fact
(?). It's not a new bricklink member (already 217 feedback ratings), very
strange.

Let's see, maybe this will be my first negative feedback as a seller. It's
very hard to communicate with him.

Customs fee was 100 Yuan (about EUR 14,-) by the way - this is about 17% of order
cost + shipping cost, which seems reasonable to me (even if they have guessed
the value of the order, because they lost all documents (invoice, customs papers).

Thanks again for all answers!

I've filled out customs declaration papers as usual, also included 2 invoices

This is what tracking says:

on June 6th?

Anyone else experiencing something like that with shipments to China?

Thanks!

Have you contacted Post AT maybe by phone they can clear it to you.

Here we need to put the invoices on the outside in a clear envelope, 3 copies
are needed, one for customs in our country, other for customs in the receiving
country and the third one for the buyer.

There could happen that the customs/invoice envelope is damaged and now unreadable,
I had to submit it by email to the shipping company once because of this.

PD: Also seems it moved today.

Always check the destination country tracking too:

https://parcelsapp.com/en/tracking/CA103619691AT

https://t.17track.net/en#nums=CA103619691AT&fc=3011

Nice tipp - thank you!

Did you fill in the value for each product listed and the total on the CN22 form
(assuming that is what you used).

Yes, very precisely, as always (including HS tariff number for faster processing)

But maybe the customs declaration papers got lost indeed (but then there would
be still the invoice in the parcel to check the contents value).

Similar thing for me: When I left the backwater where I grew up for uni, some
time in a previous century, I found out about this thing called internet, and
stumbled over T.S.Eliot in English literature courses. Putting both together
spawned the persona of stearns, eliot_stearns, or even Eliot T. Stearns, if naming
rules permitted. I still think it's a rather clever name, if I may say so.

(The song is brilliant, I do prefer the Johnny Cash version though. )

Interesting.

Are there two different molds? One with the actual number and one without?

Ja, die Möglichkeit gibt es.

Einfach folgende Option anhaken (entweder direkt beim Eintragen ins inventory
oder auch später im inventory selbst):

Beim Eintragen:
"Retain After Sold Out"
"Select this option if you want the item to be retained in your inventory after
it is sold out."

Im inventory heißt die option dann einfach nur "Retain" (ganz rechts oben bei
einem Eintrag).

Ich habe alle 3 stockrooms aktiviert (A, B und C) und bei mir landen sie dann
automatisch im stockroom A.

What bothers me:
*) Although there is a Lego logo, the white one (white neck, white hips) doesn't

*) The head has "Hollow Stud" instead of "Blocked Open Stud" (which should be
genuine, according to the first video) - but on the other hand, bricklink says
"Hollow Stud" as well.
*) The Lightsaber part is "chromed" all the way up, not just up to half of the

Any ideas?

Thanks!

White neck and hips equal fake.

  Hi Maxx,

nice picture! Are you the one with the color collection that is used at a museum
currently (think I read something somewhere in this forum)

So, according to your link, "Brick 1 x 1" appears in most different colors (63),
while "Brick 2 x 2" only appears in 55 different colors (at least the colors
that are used in sets as it seems).

So you're saying I should go for a "Brick 2 x 2" collection and use "All"
instead of "Known" colors?

Too bad chrome silver and chrome gold seems to only exist in "Brick 2 x 4" -
but I'm ok with that (already have them in my collection).

Thanks!

You should go for all of 2x4, 2x2, 1x4, 1x2, 1x1 bricks. And the same for plates.
Then report back!

Hehe, that would be another option as well, yes

Personally, I like doing 1x2 and 1x1 plates. For my colour chart, I use 1x2 plates
with 1x2 tiles next to them so you get both studs and flat surfaces in a small
area. But then I don't really care about the older and/or rarer colours as
I rarely come across them.

Good tipp with the flat surfaces, I will think about it.
I have a hard time to distinguish between Flat Silver and Pearl Light Gray, especially
on weapons - have a whole bag of them that I don't want to list on bricklink
because I'm not sure about the color :-/

As my "Brick 2 x 4" color collection (every different color) is complete now,
I wanted to check for other colors (of course I'm missing some trans-colors).

I saw that "Brick 1 x 1" comes in many different colors (at least more than "Brick
2 x 4").
Is there a way to find the part that comes in most different colors in the Lego
universe?

Thanks!

If you use "Want - Buy - tab Wanted Items" instead of "Want - Buy - tab Wanted

a single item then).

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Never used the API, but couldn't you just multiply the first two values by
0.8 and the third value by 1.14 in your code?

What do yours look like, or have you even given thought to the subject?

Mine are 21,19, 7, 7, 6, 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 3, then many 2s

The first 2 are from my city (Vienna) as well and they pick up some parts from
time to time (don't have any minimum buy for local pickups, even 1 small
part is fine, if needed )

Beside your history of trying to sell inventory that you don't have access
to - here is my opinion as buyer on this:

I usually wait some months until I have a bigger wanted list (mostly parts) that
I want to buy. Using "Buy" functionality of bricklink is very convenient and
I normally create about 5 orders to order everything for about 5 sellers.
Now one of the sellers cancels the order because parts are not available (or
some of the parts). This is very annoying as you have to order the missing parts
(or the complete order) from other sellers - which results in more costs (shipping),
because usually this single order that was canceled has to be ordered from about
3 other sellers. So there are additional costs for buyers.
So in my opinion, this behavior from a seller deserves at least a "Neutral"

I just checked the 2 brand new 75c28 in Reddish Brown that I have.
They are spare parts from my own Ewok Village, so I know that they are those
parts for sure.
Here as well, they are only 220mm/221mm (instead of the 224mm (28L) they should
be).

This seems to be completely normal, hm.

I also tend to keep them listed as 28L (but adding a comment) instead of listing
them as 28L in Reddish Brown (which isn't even available as "Known Colors").

Opinions on this case?

Hi everyone!

I have a black "Hose, Rigid 3mm D." that is 259mm long.

The next matching sizes would be a "32L" (256mm) or a "33L" (264mm).

Both are available in black. How do you list such things? As 32L (saying that
it's 3mm too long) or as 33L (saying that it's 5mm too short). As 33L
is more expensive (about 2-3 times for the "Used" variant) than the 32L (in black),
I don't want to upset any possible buyers).

But the thing is: I'm almost 100% sure that it's 33L, because I have
a Lego box with many parts of set 7418 (the only set where the black 33L appears),
but I don't see any of the sets where the 32L in black appears.

They are not white, but also not light bluish gray (standard antenna for scale).

Thanks!

The train track pins that are mentioned already come to mind but given the size
of the mould marks and the "rough" mould seams, I would guess they are not lego.
Do they have any identifying marks on them?

Thanks for your reply!

No, unfortunately there are no marks on them.

EUR 33.66 for items, EUR 8.12 for VAT ... but why is it EUR 51.54 + shipping

Hi everyone,

as I don't want to create additional bricklink users (is this even allowed)
- can someone from EU and non-EU check if they can buy from my store please?

It was a little bit quiet with new orders recently

Is "Distance Selling" now something that I need to enable (even if I don't
get anywhere near EUR 10.000 per year)?

Thanks!

That doesn't sound like fraud to me.. AFAIK including an invoice is not obligatory?
Over here it's an optional checkbox.

You're right. Already clarified it with the buyer. He didn't want me
to declare it as "gift" on customs papers, he told me that it is a gift and therefore
I should not include an invoice inside the package (but I should fill out customs
paper correctly)

Point #16: https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=79
I’m fairly certain the admin would remove any such feedback if presented with
the why's. Let's just say, I'd be surprised if they didn't.

Customs fraud is as it sounds, and not to be taken lightly. That said, I've
found that most are not fully cognizant of what they're asking, either in
regards to the applicable statutes or where the lines might be drawn, i.e. what
constitutes fraud in this regard.

The copy n’paste form-response I’ve used successfully for a few years, I no longer
have around (stopped shipping abroad a couple of years ago) Though, I don’t think
you’ll have issue, Michael. Be solicitous but resolute: offer to cancel without
issue (the phrase “without issue” is key) or if they'd like, continue
to process the order in a straight-forward manner. Have them make the call.

You’re thinking is correct, it’s much about the comms.

-popsicle

Thanks! Didn't know that this is a separate point for order cancellation!
Will consider it if it ever happens (again).

Enjoy the day!

I don't think that this is correct. Taxes are there for a reason

But in my case it's different as well. He didn't ask to adjust the value
(which I would have declined as well), he asked to not include an invoice at
all and declare it as gift on customs papers.

Hi and thanks!

That would be an option, but I want to communicate with the buyer before.

In which direction should I lead the discussion to avoid negative feedback?

I mean, when I explain to him that I don't do custom fraud, he agrees, I
send it and then he gives me a negative feedback (maybe also come up with a different
problem that doesn't exist)? can I avoid it?

And is NPB the only thing I can do to avoid negative feedback when I cancel an
order? This seems a bit harsh (as for a buyer only some completed NPBs are allowed
before buying privileges are removed). But I also don't want to simply cancel
the order to protect me from negative feedback :-/

My terms say that I don't do custom fraud (but this shouldn't even be
mentioned in someone's terms, as it should be normal to act like this).

Kind regards,
Michael

If they agree but still leave negative, then you can leave negative for them
saying that they expect you to commit customs fraud. You can also follow up any
negative on your page saying this too.

Ok, that's bad. So the only way to protect me really agains negative feedback
is a NPB? If I start the NPB process and then he decides to buy, he can also
leave negative feedback, saying I "forced" him to buy or something similar.
Really a strange system. There should be a moderator for feedback, removing feedbacks
that are for sure not deserved.

Which country? As doesn't online tax collection solve this for most destinations
now?

It's Switzerland.

It seems that online tax doesn't apply here:

Insurance: EUR 0.00
Additional Charges 1: EUR 0.00
Additional Charges 2: EUR 0.00
Credit: EUR 0.00
Grand Total: EUR 75.00

While in an US order, I see it like this:

Order Total: EUR 16.47
Shipping: EUR 5.60
Insurance: EUR 0.00
Additional Charges 1: EUR 0.00
Additional Charges 2: EUR 0.00
Credit: EUR 0.00
Indiana Sales Tax: EUR 1.55
Grand Total: EUR 23.62

Cheers.

There are 8 people who want this in black, but not in the catalogue as you mentioned.

Several years ago there was a seller in Canada who custom made these wheels and
sold them on eBay, they were very good replicates. I don't recall if that
seller was making them in black.
