Now
I don't know whether a seller has to register as a corporation to be considered
a "business".

That’s the usual problem: some like to hide behind “I’m not incorporated” / “I’m
not registered.”
So other criteria are used: buying to resell, number of transactions, gross income….
But all that is local / can only be verified locally.
So, for importations, the rule is simplified to: if it’s not a gift (below such
amount) then it’s business.

(Otherwise, if I were country X, I would say: all the businesses that export
aren’t considered businesses by country X, so they aren’t businesses for any
other country either!)

That being said, I don’t know how the package tax works….

Since January, the Germans have a new law. The "Platform Tax Transparency
Act". It obliges online sales platforms to report all sellers who have either
made more than 30 sales or earned more than 2,000 euros a year. The report is
made in January of the following year. So for the first time in 2024.

What is the number of the sets?

Any ideas?

These are exclusive sets for Blue Oceans Publishing's LEGO Star Wars magazines.
The sets should have a number on them, e.g. 912055, where 20 is the year of issue
and 55 is the number of the magazine.

In LANG Deutsch, TrevithickLego writes:
Was meint Ihr ?

It is a load of nonsense. No matter how badly you want the set, I don't
recommend you purchase from a seller who expresses such a cranky attitude in
their terms.

No, I didn't buy the set.

I´m using a business account of DHL, you´ve to ship around 200+ international
orders per year to be accepted.

All orders count, nationally and internationally.

In Buying, popsicle writes:
Was looking to buy as many as I could from any source/site, within a given price
range, a certain LEGO item...

This particular vendor had sold many (being myself, late to the game) with only
two remaining available to buy within the listing. So I bought the two remaining
and paid the shipping, thinking the price made the shipping cost of the two well
worth it. I then noticed the vendor loaded a further two to the listing with
a one dollar increase each, so I bought them. Again evaluating the costs as within
my range. After which, the vendor loaded another two with a further one dollar
increase in price, and again I bought those.

This pattern repeats itself up to today’s purchase...

Now, all five transactions fall within my targeted acquisition price, so I’m
good. That said, while USPS has made out like a bandit as I hope did the vendor,
if the seller only would have contacted me after the first or second buy and
stated their total inventory and desired price for said inventory, I surely would
have bought all in a single transaction. At the very least, dividing the USPS
and packaging costs between us, buyer and vendor.

Okay, I could have and indeed would have, made the move myself had the item not
been underpriced to begin with. You deal hunters know what I'm talking about

Just some fun and candid thoughts being shared

I would have asked him after the first time how many he had and what he wanted
for them.

IBAN payments on. Anyone know what I need to do???

Thanks in advance!

Where does the buyer come from? If he comes from the EU, it is not possible to
pay by IBAN. You need an online payment option so that BL can calculate and collect
the import tax.

Especially because it is not a 2 x 14 x 2 1/3 but a 3 x 14 x 2 1/3.

Since I'd like to get the original Lego brown box for suppliers, so I wish

Lego 60286 (Recycling Truck)
Lego 60335 (Train Station)

Welcome guess according to size of the box or your experience, if you don't

Yes im sure. The Box size of this set is 53.9 x 28.2 x 11.5 cm
In this size nearly 99% of the sets come in this amount.
Are you sure that 60335 contain 2? I am surprised. It isn't a big set.

By the way, do you have any idea about 60336 (the freight train) 1 or 2 in a

Does anyone know anything about these sets? Are they pre-release prototypes?
I know that *all* watches from that era are a bit obscure, but I'd love to

Ryan

Have you tried looking through Brickshelf? I found another watch (4376) from
2000 that hasn't been added here. https://brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=582581

Looks like it could have some potential candidates for 168 Gun Metallic.

Nice find!! It looks like an early version of this set:

[g=4372]

I haven't found either X-10 or Y-10 yet, but their bezels are aluminum, not
plastic — and not listed as 168

I would say, Set 4370 never exist. It's Set 4376. I never found X-10 with
another Setnumber.

Do you have the watch? Could you put in the change request?

Yes, I own this watch. But I don't make any new entries or changes here anymore.
You can do it yourself. On Brickshelf you can find the corresponding data.

I wonder where Lugnet got their set numbers...

I don't know who made the entry on Lugnet, but comments are ignored there
too. From the errors you can see how all, Bricklink, Lugnet, Peeron and Brickset
copy or have copied from each other without doing their own research.

There are 446 watches listed here on Bricklink. I have found 770 different watches
so far. Where as a collector I consider each order number or box variant as a
separate watch. If I eliminate that, there are still more than 520. How many
watches have you catalogued so far?

[g=4367]

Does anyone know anything about these sets? Are they pre-release prototypes?
I know that *all* watches from that era are a bit obscure, but I'd love to
know more about these.

Ryan

The EAN code of these 3 watches is the EAN code of 4370 "Grinder".

We are swamped with work for all of the new sets right now. We will get to those
minifigures when we get a chance. Thanks for your patience.

Cheers,
Randy

Sadly the excessive wait, makes me not want to contribute to the catalog ever
again. I know there is a lot of new sets being added but 6+ months for some figures
to be approved seems outrageous.

As recently as two months ago, we had a backlog of items going all the way back
to February of last year. We are now caught up to November of last year, and
we are trying very hard to get to the rest. If you had submitted the items six
plus months ago, they would be in the catalog by now, so the truth is that you
submitted them earlier than six plus months ago. When I look at the pending items,
you submitted them on November 30, 2022, so they should be one of the next things
that we get to in our process of catching up. By the way, November 30 is about
three and a half months ago.

Cheers,
Randy

A useful starting point for speeding things up and saving a lot of time would
be to import directly the images of new parts from LEGO database. Why reinvent
the wheel and take fresh pictures of everything?

It's pretty easy to tell who hasn't done an inventory or contributed
before.

Indeed. Now, I just need to find that magic: Add-Qualified-Admin-Now! button.

Yes, you are right. The 6750 set was launched in October 1986.

The Set 880 was classified by TLC as a service pack. That is why it is mentioned
in the collectors guide in the "Service Packs" on page 890 with set number
and year of release.

In Catalog, anathema writes:
Ah, that's interesting I know there are at least two other errors in
the guide (*), so I'm taking the '2000' date with a pinch of salt.

(*) Set 880 is missing entirely, and it gives a release date of 1987 for set
6750; in fact, this one turned up in 1986.

In Catalog, Dino writes:

Set No: 2556 Name: Ferrari Formula 1 Racing Car
*
2556-1 (Inv) Ferrari Formula 1 Racing Car
580 Parts, 1998
Sets: Model Team

The catalog states this to have been released in 1997. Most - but not all -
other reference sites have this date; some claim 1998.

The copyright date on the box and the instructions is 1998.

The Collector's Guide

Book No: 810005 Name: Collector's Guide 2nd Edition with Exclusive Key Chain
*
810005 (Inv) Collector's Guide 2nd Edition with Exclusive Key Chain
Books: Informational Book
states it came out in 2000.

Does anyone know which (if any!) of these dates is correct?

I would say 1997 is wrong. If it says 1998 on both, the box and the instructions,
then it is 1998. Unfortunately, I can't verify it because I don't have
either at hand.
The year 2000 mentioned in the collecors guide is a result of the information
from TLC itself.
Both, 1998 and 2000, can be correct. From 1998, this set was available exclusively
from Shell and/or Ferrari as a promotional or sales set, and from 2000, LEGO
sold the remaining stock. However, this set does not appear anywhere in the dealer
catalogs from that time.
Perhaps someone knows more about it. I did buy my sets on Ebay until 2003.

So, has anyone seen it?

to change delivery address in the form, but there I cannot change country. Instead,
I have to mess in the profile menu to change the default address to my relative's
address. (And after the delivery, back to my address). Or another way to do is
to inform the seller to send the Lego items to another address which differs
from what is in the order form. If the seller accidentally omits that information,
(s)he ships that package to me, which I don't want in that case as mentioned
before. And this situation is a nuisanse for both the buyer and seller, and may
lead to unnecessary bad ratings. Please, change this feature.

I voted "yes" because this would actually be easy to do (also tax-wise).
However, there is still the hurdle "Paypal". Each seller is required
to send to the address that is registered with Paypal.

It's not that simple anymore. BL will charge Florida sales tax, which may

Give the seller a reasonable period of time until the money must be refunded.

If changes are apparently necessary, why not go in the right direction?
By the way, my proposal is just as within the limits of BL as any other change.

There is one workaround, but I don't know how practical it is. Buyer leaves

Oops, I missed that part.

Though I see how this could cause trouble for sellers, with buyers tying up inventory
for three days only to reject (or fail to accept) the offer.

It's a great idea, but there's a number of solutions already in place,
with different benefits and drawbacks for the buyer and seller involved (e.g.,
buyer pays for order and leaves seller negative feedback more than thirty days
after the seller has left the buyer feedback so the seller can't retaliate).

I do agree that BrickLink could be more friendly to buyers, though. I know of
few ecommerce websites that allow sellers to increase the price of an order after
the buyer has agreed to pay.

Here in the EU, all commercial sellers must give buyers a 14-day right of withdrawal
and without giving any reason! Even if the orders are already paid. Exceptions
are only peronalized or specially made items.

That seems...a bit ridiculous. It was 11 years ago, and as far as I can see,
it was $0.16. But, I can't see anything else. I can find the feedback for
that order, but I can't see what it was - regardless of how I search it up.
It keeps saying "1 Purged".

I guess I'm being charged for the only 4 orders I had (one in '09, two
in '10, and the last in '11).

If you had 4 sales, you will be charged for those as well. Of course, I can only
see the ratings.
I also find this ridiculous, but that's BL. Here these amounts would be time
barred and BL would no longer have a claim. But if you don't pay them, you
get banned.

I just got an email saying I owe $1.56? Not sure what for, my store has been

an invoice? I'm not active aside from browsing the catalog, so, what gives?

Normally, you will not receive an invoice if the amount is less than $10. But
that has changed. So now you will be charged the commission from your 2011 sale.

Hi all! How have you been?

Been a longer time, since i have bought anything...Have concentrated more to
other things in life.

But lately i got back my interest for Legos and i have tried to put like some
kind of order there in my home. So i bought boxes that have like tiny rooms for
many different items...where i can put small pieces into...

I like looking at minifigures and many kinds of tiles with printing and so many
things. It is like my own small world, like forgetting the real world. Living
in a bubble maybe...

But sometimes it just is easier to think all kinds of fun stuff. I still think
that i would like to build something, like a miniature world.

But it is so hard to choose what there would be My favorite things are now
nature, caves, bridges, parks, many animals, waterfalls, beautiful looking buildings,
imaginary characters with so many nice, funny costumes...

I would love to build a world, where they would be areas for different things:
at least one for dinosaurs, one or more for some hobby themes...

Have also thought about some tv shows that i have watched like Mystery diners,
90 day fiance, Married with Children and so many more...where some minifigures
would be certain people from so called real world, but other would be like only
"played the role of person x ..." with different names, and put a story around
them.

I also saw some stop motion videos from Youtube, just wow, so amazing! How much
time and effort have they put into making them! Real patience they have Like
one with Titanic theme, so much details and everything there...

I love many colours, they are like eye candy to me, all the imagination related
things here for example...

And since i had put stuff more far away from my eyes, it felt like tiny Christmas
presents to see them after longer time

Well, sorry for my long message. Anyway, i hope that you get lots of joy with
your Legos and building with them and playing with them...

Greetings from a Miss from Finland.

I don’t really know how to proceed from that. Do I request BL merge profiles,

What will happen to the order when profiles are merged?
I didn’t find too much info on that issue, other than it’s a violation of TOS.

Thanks

What was your experience with this buyer? If they were good, I would proceed
with the purchase. If he pays with Paypal, it does not matter if he is still
with BL or not. BL won't help you anyway.

Have had a spurt of these over the last couple of months - IC is not the answer
for us we need another tool or option, perhaps where we can set a minimum feedback
level for a buyers first order - an option of course and that would allow stores
to choose rather than Bricklink.

So you want to exclude buyers without sufficient reviews from your store? Then
others should make sure that the potential buyer gets enough reviews to buy from
you as well.
I can only hope that these buyers mark your store as "least favorite".

Our concern is for all our members who won't get their existing usernames
for one of the many rules and reasons listed, or that they will be unaware of
the changes and just log in one day to find that they are now SuperShinyDolphin.

Stores could have their URLs embedded all sorts of places that will be difficult
to update. To be honest, I don't think we are a very social-media-tech-savvy
crowd. Giving people one or two messages and one or two months to go figure out
a new system before significant change occurs is what's not fair.

Sales tax was deployed how long ago and how many posts are there from sellers
wondering why they can't ship to US states?? Quick communication is not a
guaranteed thing here.

As a catalog contributor, I am extremely concerned that many not very active
BrickLink accounts will have their usernames changed. That means all their catalog
credit will change too. Those of us who work in the catalog know our fellow member
names from long association. We know who is a trusted source, who focused on
which themes, who to contact to resolve an inconsistency. How many names will
change over to the silly default ones LEGO is handing out? Changing old accounts
to bb-whatever or BLUSER was bad enough, this is a disaster in terms of
catalog credit.

The disruption here from changing usernames will be severe if a better system
is not worked out. You are the ones who should be making sure all our usernames
stay intact.

Thanks,
Jen

Thanks for expressing your concern.

What is happening now gives members a chance to avoid problems like this by reserving
a nickname that is identical to their BrickLink username. We know that we won't
get everybody, but the idea is to solve most of these problems at this time.

For those of you who don't understand why your chosen username was rejected,
let us know and we will look into it. We have already contacted the LEGO Account
team about several representative cases that have arisen. So at this point, please
don't assume that just because a mickname is rejected by the system, that
there is nothing else we can do.

Regarding the changing of usernames that are part of our catalog legacy, this
is one of many issues we will handle when the time of actual integration comes.

Store URLs are another of those issues. There are several options we can explore,
including separating the URL from the BrickLink username.

We're making a list of these issues, so if there are other problems you anticipate,
please add them to this thread.

This is the message I am getting:

You can’t use that nickname
We’re sorry, but we couldn’t accept your nickname, Dino. Please submit another
nickname.

Just a general question of preventive blocking a buyer from my store, as prior

Can we just cancel a transaction and block him to avoid facing the same problems?

Please advise how I shall handle his order or request for a cancellation?

As a seller you can cancel any order. However, you must then expect to receive
a negative feedback.
I would process the order properly and then block the buyer.

his shipping costs are way more (almost double) that of others. The way I checked
that was simply by ordering the same parts from a different store and then comparing
the estimated shipping costs.

The total of parts (about 10 pneumatic cylinders) was about $40, and the seller
wanted $35 in shipping costs. Is this legit?

Aren't shipping costs more or less 'regulated', or is a seller 'free'
to charge whatever he wants?

Not to sound suspicious but this reminds me of a scam many years ago on eBay
where some vendors sold items very cheap, but they made it up on shipping costs,
to minimize eBay's fee and taxes as well. In this modern day and age, is
this still a legit way to conduct business?

Is it normal that shippings here take up to 14 days, even for "small" orders?

Quite normal and required for shipping. In these cases I use a pre-paid seperate

There is no need to provide a phone number. Neither letter nor package fit through
the telephone line. In my opinion, you just want to collect more data.

It would be really nice, if you could add a feature, that lets you exclude a
specific shop during Auto-Selection.

I am currently in one situation, where that would be necessary.
I don't know what went wrong, but your site always selects one shop with
a 14€ min buy.
I have 15 €, so that shouldn't be a problem, right?

Exceeeept, this is false information. Once i have created my carts and go to
checkout, it says, that the min. buy is 28€, not 14!

Sure, i can contact the merchant and do whatever, but to quickly solve these
situations, it would be really nice to be like "Yerah, i do not want that shop!".

Maybe you have had personal negative experiences with them and simply do not
want to shop there ever again, due to personal reservations.

I can think of two other instances, where this would have been nice -i just forgot
the exact reason- and if there already is a way to do this, it really needs to
be more comfortable/obvious.

Only solution i have found so far, would be to manually select every shop, that
suits your needs, which is not comfortable at all.

- Its Terms list shipping costs to Germany explicitely, via DHL.

Does anybody know the reason why I'm "blocked" to order from BRICKBYBRICKEU?

Just saw this set in the LEGO fall catalog.

Went to order it and it won't be released until January 01, 2023.

Then I see on BrickLink it is marked as inventory pending approval.

Why????

This set is available in Germany.

Yet your terms (which you have now changed) stated buyers could choose the option
of PayPal. This is part of your offer to buyers when they place an order, even
if this was not offered to them at the checkout. So a buyer reads your terms,
decides to pay with PayPal, places the order knowing that you allow the buyer
the choice of paying with PayPal, then you refused to honour your terms. And
then you left them negative feedback for wanting to pay using PayPal.

If you cannot accept that you made an error in offering buyers the choice of
PayPal then refusing it, then it is perhaps not surprising that the buyer refuses
to remove their negative feedback.

Before, Paypal was only allowed for Buyer outside of the Netherlands.

Seeing that your terms were only updated today to say PayPal only, and the site
is PayPal dominant by default due to a lot of requirements for PayPal onsite,
a simple cancellation due to unclear terms on your part would have sufficed (and
you had started the "feedback war" by unnecessarily leaving your prospective
buyer negative feedback for something that was not their fault).

And yes; you're responsible for safe delivery of the order to your buyer.
Based on your response to others in this thread (and the negative feedback you
received years back), it sounds like you have no intention of honouring that
with IBAN. I can understand why a buyer would not trust to send their payment
via IBAN.

As far as I remember, the "Payment Policy" was only changed in that now only
IBAN is available.
Also, it is not true that the seller is always responsible for the delivery.
This is only true for professional sellers. For private sellers, the responsibility
ends with the transfer to the shipping company.

As far as I know, these salt and pepper shakers were never sold, but were a giveaway.

these are the only salt and

Old logo open "O" - not sure if they have been for sale in the 70s...

  Hi liebe Community,

Hallo,

bisher hast Du nichts falsch gemacht.
