Not that I know of.

I believe Peregrinator’s question is more: Is the buyer in a situation (state/country
& value) where BrickLink has to collect taxes and thus requires an on-site payment.

(That is: US buyer in most states, UK buyer under £135, EU buyer under €150.)

The customer purchased a set and we have all of our sets
set for "Manual Checkout". When a customer places an order for a set
we send the customer an invoice using the "Send Invoice" button and on
the invoice there is a link to make a payment to our PayPal account. We have
done it this way for years and have always had the option to change the order
to paid. I wonder if something has change with BrickLink?

Yes, a bit more than two years ago, BrickLink started to collect taxes….

In reply to your comments and also 1001bricks / peregrinator... (thanks by the
way)

He is in a state that collects taxes but we have had many orders in the past
where customers who have purchased sets that required us to send an invoice,
lived in states that collect taxes. I assumed BL had collected the taxes from
PayPal like when customers pay using onsite payments (which is 99.9% of our orders).
And like I mentioned, we have been doing it this way for years - that is why
I wondered if maybe BL has changed something.

Thanks, Jim.

Good game!

Yeah, it was a really good game. I was hoping that the Chiefs would win but they
were both exceptional teams this year and I would have been happy with either

Hopefully the Packers will do better next year because they really should win

I do not know what the postal service is like in Slovenia but you probably sont
have to worry to much about packages going missing. Out of all our orders we
have had over the past 10 years we have had, I believe, only 3 orders go missing
and one was our fault because I forgot to apply the shipping label (unfortunately,
that one was a rather large $400.00 and now all those poor Lego have to spend
eternity in USPS purgatory (poor little guys)). We hardly every purchase
insurance and when we do it is usually just on larger orders.

A side note on Cap Locks... If you really want to have fun then continue to
use Cap Locks but also do double spacing between each letter and quadruple spacing
between words. Lastly, DONT USE ANY PUNCTATION.

Really? Alright good to know thanks. I thought maybe access to more buyers would
create more orders.

Selling internationally did bring in good sales years ago but no more. The whole
reason is that shipping overseas is now just way too expensive. When we first
started selling overseas we probably received at least 25% of our orders from
overseas but that was when overseas shipping thru USPS was actually reasonable
but now for just 8 ounces they charge $17.10. Above 8 ounces it goes up to about
$27.00.

We now get maybe 1% to 2% of our sales from other countries.

It also very possible that someone purchased the set, took pieces out that they
wanted and then taped it back up as best they could and then returned the set
to the store they bought it from. The person you purchased that same set from
the store not knowing that it was opened.

This has happened to us at least three times when we purchased multiple sets
for breaking down for our inventory. One set was completely replaced with a bunch
of used Lego taped up inside the bags from the set. The other two times it happened
where someone purchased the set, assembled it and then partially disassembled
the set and taped the parts back up into the original bags and then carefully
taped back up the boxes, but, of course, did not put everything back in the bags
including some of the figs.

So, in short, it may not have been the seller that originally opened up the set
(if it does prove to have been opened).

Okay, I have the perfect solution for you. In your last post you stated that,
in part, you are "trying to enjoy the spending of my money". Well, it
just so happens, I really enjoy "receiving" money so if you enjoy spending
it and I enjoy receiving it, why not avoid all those pesky future headaches and
just do all your future BrickLink shopping in our store.

Heck, I'll even compliment you on how good looking you are and how very smart
you are after each and every sale to help make the whole "enjoy the spending
of my money" experience even that much more enjoyable!

Sound good?

Jim.

PS. I will even throw in free shipping on every 50th order. Well as long as it
is under 4 bucks.

We have a customer that filed a NSS against us and we have replied to the NSS
with the tracking number showing that it was delivered but we would also like
to submit a scanned copy of the purchased postage in a PDF format but do not
know where to send it. The "Problem Detail" page only allows us to respond
with a message but there is no place on that page to submit any other proof.

Does anyone know how we can go about getting a copy of the postage to the correct
person or place that handles NSS's?

If only the customer had contacted us in the first place then we would have had
no problem refunding the order total but they did not try to contact us thru
BrickLink or by email, just filed an NSS.

You could just rename your shop to "99 bottles of bricks on the wall".

As long as you refunded thru PayPal you shouldn't have any problems because
now you have proof to show BrickLink that the order was refunded so an NSS can
not be completed against you.

not really since he will have to buy it elsewhere so its normal to refund extra
for shipping that will be needed for the new purchase

I disagree that it’s normal to refund extra. Compared to a retail storefront
one never would get a credit more than the item’s value, for something missing
or damaged. It’s because we have a feedback system that sellers are more willing
to be generous. However, such generosity should be acknowledged and not assumed.

with a store front you typically arent buying $1 or $2 items and then driving
back to get a refund as opposed to bricklink where if your missing a small part
you have to buy it online and pay shipping again for a mistake the seller made
so its quite normal to refund extra to cover shipping if the seller is the one
who made the mistake

I don't agree at all with you on this, see:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1381643

As written, people think their wanted-list of 487 Lots 1169 items will automagically
be
generated by non-paid minions into an order where no single physical part can
be missing.

This whole concept is 100% biased.

I've also written that if you do need 17 nails you buy a bag of 25 or half
a pound of them, but you don't ask for 17.

In short the eventual buyer argument "Now I'm missing 1, I'm obliged
to place another order" is unfair.

Or we could also say "Now as BrickLink had problems for couple of hours,
I've possibly lost 100$ - then I won't proportionnaly pay in my fees!"

In short, you should NOT, Nubs_Select or anyone, pay a whole hypothetical
order for a missing part (for a neglectable value).

Accessorily, this would be - for me - a kind of buying feedback or extortion:
"I give you 5 bucks so you're happy even if 0.03$ was (maybe) missing"
or "Give me 5 bucks for this 1x2 white plate or I'm unhappy and will
glue you a Red".

yah it might have been something that isn't normally done and I do agree
in general a full shipping refund is rarely needed but if you went to a store
for certain items which were promised as they were listed for sale and you now
have to buy elsewhere its generally just "normal" (at least on bl) to
refund a bit extra for shipping.

See my other post.

And if the buyer counted wrongly?
If he left one to fall in his carpet?
If his wanted-list wasn't exact?

Again, AFAIK, there's no other shop (apart Brockowl probably) where you can
order 480 lots and 1189 items for maybe less than 100$ - AND expect everything's
exact and seller has to compensated every damage including moral (a birthday
present? Xmas?) if you missed 0.03$

We're talking about an human activity completed at for example 99.995% "only"?
Sorry, but slavery has been abolished.

OK, so the seller should not have to pay extra for shipping but what about if
the customer contacts the store about a missing piece that is needed to complete
a project. Should the store have to send out a replacement missing piece to the
customer so he can complete his project? How do you think that should that be
handled?

Anybody else recently experience this problem?

Looks like they changed the way the search works with quotes, it doesn't
work with them at all any more.

I also agree that it is much faster, though that is not really relevant to the
post.

Had a feeling it had something to do with the quotes. Just tried another site
like the one I mentioned and that didn't work either.

Yeah, they are all not working. I hope at least one of them makes the necessary
changes to their search operations so as to work again with BrickLink. I would
be willing to help by making a donation to help pay for the time it would take
to change the search code and I would imagine others would too, hint, hint.

When the image is clear and simple it'll find it instantly.

I think perhaps you do know and that it's not an actor’s quote, but that
the color reminds you of Skragle, whom you miss very much?
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1154156

Colors evoke feelings and often deeply held memories, almost as strongly as our
olfactory do. It's why we enjoy them so much

Actually, I fortunately do not have to miss him as he still with me. I apologize
if my forum message you referenced made it sound like he had died and he is my

I would imagine that a lot of other dog owners would dispute that claim.

Since parts in this color tend to skew a bit higher in price, I wonder why? It
has been around for a while and a fair amount of parts are in dark orange. Do
people build a lot of MOCs with them? Is there a low supply? Is it something
to invest in at a PAB wall if I see it? Do any of you personally build with dark
orange? If so, what? Some good uses I thought might be sunsets landscapes, Mars
environments, rusty things, buildings or shading in general. Just curious.

My FAVORITE color. As an English actor quite often said "I don't know why?".

LOL but that's pretty low

What's wrong with 95% positive reviews? Nothing! 95% positive reviews is
an excellent score!

No no - see top right of your shop, you're at 99% something, that's good.
But 95% isn't.

Which is one of the reasons that this appreciation system is bad.

Apart this, you're right, agreed!

5% dose not sound that bad until you start looking at the math. Example, a store
with 5000 feedbacks would have a combination of 250 negative and neutral feedbacks.
That would mean that out of every 20 feedbacks received 1 would be bad - which
is just too much.

This has probably been raised before, but is there anything that can be done
about these sellers who list figs from the 70s and 80s as new? It’s hard to
be 100% sure they’re lying (even with feedback claiming buyers were sent used
as new), but how much circumstantial evidence is enough? I saw a seller today
who had some very rare castle figs listed as new, so I checked his parts list
and, wouldn’t you know it, some of the exclusive parts from those sets are listed
in used condition with damage noted. Really?

I’ve also sold a used fig to someone before and saw them list it as new a week
after I shipped it.

Why bother having a condition if you can just lie and there are no consequences?

Indeed. It's a travesty. These sellers are nothing more than scammers, the
lowest of the low. I've been reporting the one with the tire brand in their
name repeatedly every few months, but nothing's ever done despite the fact
that it's patently obvious from literally over 100 feedback reports that
they regularly sell new figures as used. How much more evidence is needed? Get.
Them. Off. The. Site.

" the one with the tire brand in their name " LOL. Never deal with them but from
all the feedbacks they should be banned.

It's very bad practice, right after fake parts. Even with comments on the
part. We purchased some transparent parts with "has been in storage, may have
slight scratching." They turned out much worse and listed as USED in our store.
The store is on our least favorite list. You may get more money for one sale,
but your customers won't come back.

What I dont like is the fact that even though itsa goodyear for them, not so
good for all the people that leave them negative or neutral feedbacks. For
every negative / neutral FB's they receive they always leave a retaliatory
feedback. They leave retaliatory negative FB's even for all the neutrals
they receive. And when they know they made a mistake, like in one order where
they replied "Yes, we lost this order and apologized. Weve been moving and lifes
been rough. :/", and they still gave a retaliatory feedback.
