Anyone else have the last 3 or 4 days of orders still showing on your order screen
in Shipstation? I've tried contacting them, provided screen shots and even
tried to manual update the tracking in PayPal to clear them. I've been
successful in clearing 2 or 3 but the rest gives me an error.

Just because the tracking hasn't updated doesn't necessarily mean the
order hasn't shipped. I ship order throughout the day and have them waiting
to be picked up or waiting to be dropped off at a collection site. Packages
over the weekend that are shipped and dropped off at a collection site might
not get scanned until that night, but they are still shipped and dropped off.

I'd give sellers the benefit of the doubt they are marked shipped and begin
tracking within 24 hours during the week, and by Monday evening over the weekends.

In Buying, Toyscout2 writes:
I have seven current orders, all placed on the same day, and 10 other orders
placed within the last year. Of the seven current orders, they all say shipped.
This appears to be inaccurate. When I track those packages, they say a label
was created but they have not been picked up by USPS. I am sorry but that is
packed, not shipped. I will favorite the stores that claim my package is shipped
and when I track it, it is actually shipped.

April 1 - April 18 2019 - 47 orders
April 1 - April 18 2020 (pandemic) - 150 orders
April 1 - April 18 2021 - 53 orders
April 1 - April 18 2020 - 79 orders

I think traffic is still better than last year, but off from the pandemic.
I've noticed here in the US that the first week of the month, a few days
around the middle of the month and the last few days of the month are generally
higher volume and higher average sales. This corresponds to the times of the
month people are generally paid.

I agree with you completely, but playing devils advocate, why isn't the post
office giving refund of the shipping when they lose a package unless insurance
is purchased. Why is their terms of agreement to be held not liable any different
than a sellers terms of agreement saying the same thing?

I ask because I've had several packages lost in the past 18 months, probably
4 or 5 now, that they have no idea where they went and have basically stopped
looking for it. They have never once offered a refund of postage even. Maybe
I need to ask for it but getting to talk with a human at the USPS is not an easy
task and probably not worth the time I'd spend trying to recover the $3.50.

This is a strange question - they would 100% be responsible and would either
refund you or make you another.

This is what insurance is for. In theory, you could go to the USPS and get your
money back for the lost product, but you are the contracted member to the buyer
and not USPS. You made the purchase for the shipping of the goods, therefore
your are responsible for this end of the transaction as well. For both buyer
and seller to be even, buy receives their refund from you because they have no
ability to go to USPS (or any shipping company) because they were not the purchaser
of the shipping label.

It's a bit hard to tell if that printing is embossed or not. It is not specified
in the description and there is a separate category for embossed parts is there
not?

They are engraved rather than embossed. There isn't a special category for
them, just decorated brick. They are quite common. I have some 2x2 somewhere
as well.

I found that the vast majority of sticker parts bring just a fraction more, and
even sometimes less than the non sticker version. If you account for all the
search time your actual net is less. They also take infinitely longer to sell.
There are obvious exceptions and i try to pull those and at least look them
up. I also have 4 or 5 sticker parts on my want list that I buy when they are
available with other things I need that I pull the sticker from and sell for
3x to 10x the cost. I'm certainly not a big fan of them.

A lot of the Russian stores i've bought from in the past have taken Euro's
or Rubles. With the exchange rates where they are right now any Russian store
that has their inventory priced in Rubles is going to get crushed. At least
1 seller I've bought from in the past has repriced their inventory in Euros
to avoid taking a 35% discount against the Dollar (yes I was looking for a deal).
Not sure if internet transactions via Stripe or PayPal are effected in these

Because of sanctions and logistical problems.

As far as I know it's no longer possible to send/receive money to/from Russia

Don't know how BL could enforce this, but it's clear that
BL should take action as soon as possible to make it clear for all buyers

labels through Shipstation all morning. Is there a way to adjust the settings
so that the top couple of lines of text are not cropped out when the labels are
printed on a Dymo 4xl? It acts like it wants to print the entire 4x6 area when
there is a small bit of margins where it can't print. I've looked and
there are no label settings i can find.

To me this is a true misprint, not like a lot of those that have a bit of odd

came in 2 of the more expensive early SW sets that are getting really hard to
find complete. I'd bet you could fetch 5-10 times the going rate for this

Personally, I'd create several wantlists and classify each set by value and
importance. Pick from sellers that have the parts for the most valuable sets
wantlist. Then I'd look at those 2nd and 3rd tier wantlists and buy parts
that I can pick up cheap and save on shipping or get to store minimums, ect for
only a little more of an investment. You can click the check mark on/off for
each list to view those parts separately for each vendor.

Instructions typically add more value than they cost on desirable sets

Little jealous of how many repeat buyers you have. I've got 1273 more individual

between 10 and 5. I'd wonder what type of store, parts only vs figures vs

Looks good. I'd suggest you consider getting rid of the minimum buy of $3
and replace it with a minimum lot value. For reference I had 19 orders last
month of less than $3, most of which were figures that are super easy to pull
and ship. Some of the worst orders i had prior to having a minimum lot were
60 lot orders for less than $10.

That said those light nougat bricks would be worth a small fortune if not glued

I haven't a clue. I've only ever owned one glued model (a glass store

This could be an issue for them. When I registered my exemption on eBay I was

Does bricklink have a way of identifying which purchases a buyer makes are personal

someone with a reseller's license is only buying for the purpose of reselling?

While this is probably true, it's been discussed for over a year now. If
i remember correctly once they had all of the states set up so they could collect
tax, they were going to work on it. Now that VAT stuff is done, which is a bit
of a train wreck on how to successfully do to avoid the buyer paying VAT twice,
they should move on this. I buy on many platforms for resale, and this is the
only one i can think of that hasn't implemented it.

In Selling, peregrinator writes:

BL collects state sales tax from purchases made by all of the US sellers, instead
of collecting our resale certificates. BL owes us all, every penny of that, and
the total keeps climbing with every purchase-for-resale that each of us makes.

I don't believe a business is obligated to accept a resale certificate, and
a business that does not accept a resale certificate must still collect sales
tax. In other words I don't think the information you posted is accurate
- since BL has no mechanism for accepting resale certificates, they don't
owe us what they've collected for state sales tax.

I have a few Belville figures that are either missing hands or feet, and a
random head in my part bins. I know it's probably a bid task to break these
figures down into components like traditional figures, but it would be nice to
be able to buy or sell the hands or feet separately if you've got them so
others could complete these guys.

This just happened to one of my buyers in France. I put the receipt on the package
that Bricklink has you download and print showing that it had been paid, then
they charged him again to get the package. The second payment was even higher
($22ish up front / $29ish on receipt). Felt terrible for the guy but I'm
not sure what else I could do at this point. Hopefully this gets sorted soon
as I have a 1-2 orders a month that goes to Europe.

I buy on an extra EU store, then I have to pay VAT.
I didn't until some months ago, so now it's very annoying, but ok.
Then, I expect that VAT is paid and I have nothing more to pay.

And every single time I receive a package, the postman says there's more
to pay.
EVERY SINGLE TIME.

If the seller didn't attach the VAT invoice, that's the seller to blame.
But it happened also with VAT invoice attached.

I am tired of paying double every time. Bricklink did a mistake forcing us to
pay the VAT in advance, I'll stop buying from extra EU if this doesn't
find a solution soon.

Can we please fix the sales tax exemptions for sellers that buy parts for resale
and have the proper sales tax id's on file with our state? I've spend
$115 in sales tax for items since July of 2021 that I shouldn't have to pay.

lost package total in less than 2 years is triple that of the previous 18.

after reading this thread, I went to the parts bin and pulled 2 helmets and listed

for .50 as recently as September to complete CAS262 which sold for or $7. I'd
bet they are less than a dollar by years end.

If you are going to use some of the down time like myself to pull and ship some
orders today and tomorrow, change the date in the shipping software to the 27th.
You'll save that .30 holiday surcharge on those orders. Might not make
a huge difference but it'll save me probably $3 in shipping

Yes it would be bad, you priced it and the person bought it. It's a contract.

In LEGO, BricksndBobs writes:
  Hello,
Just a question for some fellow sellers.
I'm very new to selling here on Bricklink, and could use a bit of guidance
here.
I recently sold something rather rare here on Bricklink (buyer has not paid,
but has requested invoice).
Well, It seems as though I priced it far too low, because I've had someone
else message and offer me almost double the price I had listed it for.
Now, what I want to know is, would it be bad for me to cancel the first order
and sell to the second person?

This isn't something I would normally look to do, but I could really use
the money as the festive season draws closer and I am currently unemployed.

tbf I normally look at price history of Lego sets here on Bricklink before advertising
a price. However, there was no price history other than a new set which sold
for $568. My set is used, but comes with instructions and original box. There
are a couple other sets being sold on bricklink that come without the box and
instructions, and they are priced starting at $65. The amount I sold it for was
$175, over $100 above for only adding the instructions and box. The price being
offered by the second buyer is £300.

Anyways, sorry to digress. I want to know if A: It is acceptable to cancel the
first order under these pretenses, and B: If the first buyer could submit negative
feedback for myself for a cancelled order.

Thanks in advance! Any help is greatly appreciated as I am tremendously torn!

I would not part this set out, as the 6 month average new part price is about
$75. I'd open, verify, then sell it as new complete with a discription
of the box as others have said. New complete it is about $100-$115, and it
would take you forever to sell all the parts single for less money.

In Help, EmblaRonja writes:
This is not a sealed set at all. Scotch tape = it’s been opened.

It’s also not close to an 8/10 rating of the box, if so 9/10 would be without
tape and 10/10 not crushed in any way? So what about the shelf wear? Don’t try
to rate anything with numbers like that it will only give you trouble. Just list
it with a picture, state what are facts: Has scotch tape, shelf wear and dents
- picture of actual item”.

This is a definite “open up and part out - case”

I still have a computer that Brickstock works on, and I just tested it and it
still updates to 3 decimals. I also know when I set my want list prices to 6
month prices on Bricklink it also sets it to 3 decimals, so i'm pretty sure
it is a Brickstore issue.

Unfortunately I can only make Brickstock work on my laptop, not my desktop I
like to work from with 3 monitors.

Is there a way to import the price guide into Brickstore using 3 decimal places.
For some high volume items there is a big difference between .016 and .024,
both of which I'm guessing is rounded to .02 for the price guide purposes.

As far as I'm aware it's the BrickLink API that is set to 2 decimal places...
so unless BL change the API I don't believe there is.

I just went back and looked because I remember having several small orders before
implementing a .50 min lot limit.

I had orders of .02, .03, .04, .05 & .09. In all I've had 46 orders for
less than .49. Shipping was less in 2017 and taxes were not collected so the
.02 order paid $3.64 total.

Fedex called me yesterday to talk about my gaining my package business. I told
them I'd be happy to talk but the 200+ packages I send every month average
about $3.75 through the Post Office. He said thanks for my time and hung up.

Unless their service goes to 10-14 days or doubles in cost, you just can't
beat the 1st class package rate.

I noticed the same thing a few weeks ago on my desktop computer, but my laptop
works just fine. I fiddled with ever setting in there to no avail.

  Hi all,

Not sure if this sit he right forum, but I have been happily adding parts to
my inventory via Brickstock (for speed), but suddenly can't add parts.

I can click the 'Add Item' button, but no window appears. I've checked
everywhere on my desktop, including Alt Tab, and cascade, but it's not there.

Brickstock seems to do everything else but show this window. It even goes grey
at the top of the window showing that another window is active.

I've re-installed the software and still get the same thing?

Anyone else had this?

Thanks,

Simon

Anyone know the history of this guy? It's all Lego parts with the exception
of the plastic torso overlay. This torso is a small prong version.

I've also cut way back. In May & June we placed 28 orders for parts totaling
$1057, in July and August so far just 11 for $220. July was my states sales
tax implementation. Only ordering the bare minimum until it's fixed.

Has anyone heard when/ if BL will come out with a reseller tax exemption form?
I was originally told it would happen sometime in Q2 of this year. Any information
would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

nothing yet, we're frustrated too.
We cut down our Bricklink spending drastically and been sourcing from other vendors
since.
we still buy here but way less then we used too. we know it's only a 7% increase
in price in our case but that's thousands of dollars when you spend tens
of thousands of dollars somewhere.
Hopefully soon...
